Well... I watched Repo Men. And before you call me a traitor like my best friend did(It was in a joking manner but still), I just saw it to see how annoyingly close it was to REPO! Opera. It was a rip-off. All the little nuances of REPO! Opera were taken. There was even a random girl in a tutu!! (There were several people in tutus in REPO! and there are twins in tutus in the back ground of Zydrate Anatomy) The main girl character or whatever was a singer, had artificial eyes(Hm, who does this sound like so far?) along with several other unnecessary surgeries(Now who does that sound like?), and was once a Q Addict(Q is the red sparkly powdered drug, that coincidentally comes in a little glass vial...).
THEY EVEN SAID TERRANCE IN THE MOVIE(bit of a spoiler alert. Not too much but still. If you want to skip this paragraph). Jude Law goes to repossess this singer guy he's been a fan of since forever, and the singer guy was mixing his new CD or song or whatever, and he asked if he could finish it. He said ok, and when they finished he gave him a little recording thing of it and said "Make sure my man Terrance gets this". .....I know!
There's even a GraveRobber of sorts!! Well, Jude Law narrates a little, but later (another spoiler alert) they meet this one guy(Can't remember his name, but was played by the guy who played Tybalt(Prince of Cats) in the modern version of Romeo and Juliet which kind of made me happy) who sells Q, but is also a "Vulture" meaning if he finds a guy dead on the street from something besides the Repo Men, then he harvests whatever Artiforgs(organs) they have, sell those organs and implant them.
Oh and earlier in the movie, a woman was telling him about how she was giving him Q in his IV and that he'll have to quit cold turkey later and some other stuff. Ask a GENtern if Zydrate is right for you?
Despite it ripping off REPO! COMPLETELY and there being hardly a good story in it(It seemed like they REALLY rushed the writing and wanted to get it out there as fast as possible), it had a pretty awesome twist in the end. I'm not saying I like the movie, but the twist was pretty bad a**...
Still, no one will care about this movie 20 years from now, so yeah. Kind of pointless... If you've also seen it post your own opinions on it. =)

Oddly enough, one of my friends was watching it last night. I just enjoyed reading her status updates about how ridiculous the movie was. So now I'm curious about watching it. I can wait for it to play on HBO or whatever, though.

Masquerade! Paper faces on parade. Masquerade! It was rushed because they were trying to get it done as fast as possible in order to have it released before Repo! was, although that failed in and of itself thanks to the retaliation of us fans and the threat we had posed upon them.
Interesting that they have a guy making a CD album for a guy named Terrance. Yeah, that was not obvious where that came from. I wonder if that singer was named Darren too. rolleyes Hide your face so the world will never find you.

I know this makes me a bad Repo! fan... but I really liked Repo Men, actually.
When I went to watch it, I just thought of it as a giant, high budget Repo! Fanfic. and it was good! I love the claims department, I play a Repo Woman on twitter, and I really enjoyed seeing more of the realistic side of repossessing organs for a living.

Well I did think the realism was cool, but then the whole relationship with Jude Law and the main girl(Never paid attention to name) was really just annoying... especially that one scene where they had to scan the organs. And why is it that they can scan organs through ship walls from yards and yards away, but then suddenly they have to scan it face to face? The only cool part that could ever really make me watch the movie again was the twist at the end... Still I prefer the over the top style of REPO! Opera, and the apocalypse theme(I have a soft spot for apocalyptic settings), and the allegorical characters, and it all of it makes a much more special, striking, interesting, comical, and effective story that gets people more. More people probably cried and were struck emotionally by Shilo's dilemma and the scene where Nathan dies than when Jude Law is kicked out of his house. So overall, REPO! is more memorable, interesting, and more people care about it and will for awhile than Repo Men so it's still a bit of a non-issue.
Opera Phantomess: That was my theory too... I wouldn't expect less from them either...
And yeah I watched it on demand for $5. 8P

There's a good selection of free movies. I usually just watch the really bad horror movies, though...They're fun to watch with friends.
So I guess my time to view Repo Men has finally come. Dun dun dun...
