Oh, there were things to be said about summer time. On one hand, everything was splendidly warm and everything was positively alive. On the flip side, it also meant plenty of rain, everything from light drizzles to thunderous summer washouts. In addition, where there was rain, it usually meant mud, which was most bothersome when one was trying to go about their business.
At present, Inanna was on her way to go tend to her garden which she had set up someways from her more shady home. Treading carefully around the obvious muddy patches, she shifted her woven reed basket to be braced against on of her hips so that she may free up a hand to help her kept her balance in case the way got treacherous. She had gotten stuck in some sticky mud before. It was quite frightening and exhausting. She was absolutely filthy when she managed to free herself.
The doe didn't mind the rain. It helped her garden flourish, but the mud it produced, well, she could live without. She could handle some dirt and muck, but she had her limits. Overhead, the skies were a patchwork of rather dark looking rain clouds and open patches of clear blue sky. It looked like it was thinking about pouring since that morning, but if Inanna didn't head out soon the tomatoes that were ripe would either go to the birds and bugs or just rot. She also had cucumbers that were getting ready, among several other things. Inanna was hoping that her zucchini were doing alright. They were looking a little puny during her last visit out that way a few days ago. It was also getting time to consider checking on her pepper plants. They were due to be ripe soon too.
Inanna had never really bothered setting up any sort of fencing or barrier around her garden, partially for her own convenience and because she never really saw any reason to. She didn't live within a village, but was at least close enough for a little trip to one should she need supplies, or a longer trip to a larger one for a more extensive marketplace. For the most part, she was well equipped for handling herself and whatever forays she made out and about helped keep her in touch with other taur, even briefly.

Indeed the overcast skies were enough to keep most inside, and limit the usual festivities of the market, but it wasn't much of a concern to the stag. Standing under a large stall's wide spanned top, Clouse watched as plenty of `taur took refugue to the buildings that lined around the outdoor vendors. Children squealed in delight as mothers tugged them along, hand covering over their hair in a pointless attempt to keep their primped locks dry.
A content grin was on the bucks face, ears turning just slightly ever few seconds as they caught sound of sudden noises. The grumbling clouds above made turquoise eyes shoot up, watching as the billowing titans clashed with one another in their bumbling, making a flash appear within their depth. A few females had taken to his side under the large over hanging stall; which was clearly flourishing in it's production due to it's stature. They whispered and giggled to one another, openly gawking at the handsome male, but didn't seem to phase him. Though he did manage to glance at them once or twice, just to give a nod in acknowledgement, and to receive a few giggles and blushes.
In his hand, he held a simple bag of writing materials for his house mate, Clayton. Of course, the shy buck would have wanted to come himself, but due to the few injuries he'd received, Clouse wasn't having him make them any worse. Finally, when the rain seemed unable to make up it's mind, the Cervi gave another nod to the ladies, and set on his way back home, cloven hooves clicking atop the cobblestone of the market as he left.

Having reached her garden before the grumbling of the clouds grew to be of much worry, Inanna had been collecting various vegetables from her garden, pausing every so often to glance skyward at the darkening heavens. Flashes of lightning within the bellies of those heavy, billowing clouds were also cause for worry. After a particularly close sounding rumble of thunder, the fair Cervi glanced to her basket which was almost completely full.
"Mm." She hummed with a sigh as she looked skyward, drawing her basket to her. "Perhaps it would be best if I picked up later." Inanna rose to her hooves as the rain began to pour. She shifted herself and turned back the way she came before pausing. If lightning was near she wouldn't want to cut across the open and increasingly muddying field. That wouldn't be safe at all. Pale blond brows knit low over her blue violet eyes as Inanna took a few small paces back. She'd go back around. It'd take her closer to the village and take longer, but at least then she'd have more cover. There were more clearly marked and well traveled paths that way as well. Another crack of lightning settled her path for her.
Shaking her head to brush her bangs away from her eyes, Inanna walked briskly through the trees in the direction of the path between the village and her house. Ugh, if the storm continued to rage she'd probably be better off finding some place to stay within the village until the storm raged itself out. She didn't really care that her hair was beginning to cling wetly to her face and neck. She could dry herself whenever she got settled. It was actually kind of helpful that the freshly harvested veggies were getting washed. The only real worry, aside from the lightning, was if the rain persisted as heavily as it was and if she didn't get inside within a reasonable amount of time that her top had the potential to go slightly translucent. It could handle a good bit of water before reaching that point, but if she were to be soaked through then that would be that and that would leave her mortified if anyone came upon her in that state! So, it was best to move quickly!
