Very few things could keep the lions of the Kizingo'zaa from roaming the great wide expanse of beach they called home. Today, there was a very loud exception. Tukuta whipped his head around as another flash of light lit the cloudy sky, but the lightning had come and gone before he'd gotten a good look at it. Lightning's slower brother, Thunder, followed soon after, making the juvenile lion wince from his viewing spot at the mouth of the den.
"Thunder always sounds so angry." he commented, edging a little further towards the dark line that marked where the torrential rain hit the ground. "Do you think Lightning is teasing Thunder?" he asked.
When there was no reply, Tukuta realized no one was listening to him. That wouldn't do! The musings of a young genius should always have a witness. With a mind to remedy the situation, he spied Nila further back in the den, and made a bee-line for his sister.
"Nila!" he said, flopping unceremoniously across her back. There! A captive audience. "Nila, do you think that Lightning is teasing Thunder? I think they're playing hide-and-seek, and Lightning keeps teasing Thunder by darting in and out of his hiding spots."
