(Somewhere in The Hampton, New York)
Birds fly high above in the cloudless skies; the sun shines brightly, signifying a beautiful day. A group of children ran along the lawn, playing and rough housing. Two lawn chairs sat along, facing the children, a table set between the two, two cups of lemonade and a cell phone sat atop, condensation dripping down the cups, pooling on the table.
A cheerful melody emits from the cell phone and an elderly woman looks over to the other lawn chair, then stands and walks towards the children, gathering them together and quickly leaving the area.
The individual in the lawn chair opens the flip cell phone and places it against the ear.
“Boss…. we gots a problem,” a thick Italian accent emitted from the receiver end of the phone, “…. your grand daughter has gone missing….” The voice paused, awaiting a response.
The cell phone was quickly snapped shut and slammed against the table, sobbing slowly emits from the individual in the lawn chair.
(Rocco’s Italian Restaurant, New York City, New York)
-Classic Italian music plays within the restaurant, creating a soothing ambiance. -
Two men enter the restaurant, one turns to lock the door and flip over the ‘Open’ sign, so as to read ‘Will Return In An Hour’.
Both individuals made their way past empty table, heading towards the only occupied table. An older, portly gentleman sat by his lonesome, indulging on a hefty pasta dish before him. Pausing between forkfuls, the portly gentleman acknowledges his visitors.
“Jimmy…. Tony… what brings you two to by my little restaurant.” He said, a thick Italian accent hung in the air, before he took another bite from his pasta dish.
Jimmy, dressed in casual business, his hair slicked back and clean shaven, preceded to take a seat before the restaurant owner. Tony, the slightly taller of the two, head shaved bald, dressed in a suit and tie, stood behind.
“We got a problem Rocco. Seems as if someone is trying to send us a message, real personal like…” Jimmy said, his Brooklyn accent thick to the ears.
Rocco paused in mid chew then slowly put down his fork, swallowed the remainder of the food and folded his arms across his chest, looking at Jimmy, “…Go on….” He said.
“…The Don’s granddaughter…. She has gone missing….” Jimmy said, somewhat nervously, awaiting Rocco’s reaction.
A shocked look creeps onto Rocco’s face at the mention of the news. “Gone missing? Doesn’t any one just go missing, did ya hit the streets? Talk to our boys, see if they hear anyone making noise?” Rocco responded, anger starting to flare.
“We already hit the streets, boss, we got an idea on who did it…Yakuza…” Tony said, a low stern voice, drenched in a Spanish accent.
Rocco became even more enraged. “Those noodle sucking, slant eyed, c**k suckers? What the f**k do they think they are doing? They got themselves a death wish…” Rocco shouted, shooting up from the table. “You two, hit the streets, inform our boys that they come across one of those panty sniffing dips**ts, they put a beat down on them. I’m going to work some connections to find out what crawled up their chopstick using A**es. Now Go!” Rocco shouted, pointing at the door.
“You got it boss!” Jimmy and Tony both responded, turning and leaving the restaurant, closing the door behind them.
Rocco fished out his cell phone from his pocket; pressed down a button and placed the cell phone to his ear as he sped dialed a number.
“Hey, its me...You got the b***h with ya? … Good…ya…ya, you really stirred up a s**t storm with that little stunt you pulled…. Ya…. Tell your boys to be careful, we have an order to beat down anybody who looks like your boys…. Ya…. don’t worry though; you’ll get what you want, as long as you don’t f**k me…. Ya…. Ok, bye…” Rocco hung up the cell phone and put it back into his pocket. “Damn Japs, always gotta f**k things up….” Rocco returned to finishing his meal.
- Two days prior –
(College Campus)
The college campus’ atmosphere was somewhat abuzz with life as students casually walked to and from their classes, while others would participate in casual games and sports on the grass.
(Parking Garage)
With classes beginning shortly, the parking garage was somewhat full, with little to no activity. A young woman closed the door to her car, adjusting her bag onto her arm, grabbing her cup of coffee, as she made her way to the nearest elevator.
“Excuse me, miss?” A voice came from behind her, thick with a Japanese accent.
She turned around, only to feel blunt strike to the back of her head, dropping her to the garage floor, slipping away to unconsciousness.
“Pick up the girl, the boss will be pleased….” The same voice said, as she drifted away from consciousness.
