Well... I have noticed the HUGE HUGE HUGE difference between the Japanese version and and American versions of he show (mostly in verbal form) and I was just wondering which version you guys liked better~
I for one actually like the Japanese version better... for some reason I understand Japanese humor better then American... Also for me the voices don't fit quite right in the english version...
What do you guys say?

Japanese. I agree that the voices don't fit, no offense to their voice actors, Lieutenant Armstrong is awesome, but it doesn't work for Dororo. Also, because there are more episodes, obviously. And because of all the characters that are currently only in Japanese. To me they won't sound the same in english, because we know they're going to get the voices wrong.

I would watch the American, but the only reason I don't is because Japanese has more episodes.

I like both of them, but, like all anime I watch, I prefer the Japanese version because: A) The voices fit better B) The lines (though subbed) match the officially dubbed manga better than the dubbed anime.

I can tolerate the English-dubbed version of the show... but I MUCH prefer the Japanese version. I just feel that any show should be in its own native language... it just makes it better. 3nodding And sometimes I REALLY can't stand dubs... and its a total disgrace. If you aren't going to make an effort to dub the show PROPERLY, then don't dub it at all. stressed

I cannot watch the English dub. I am picky as hell. I like the Japanese humor much better, it's not Americanized modernized stuff. And even entire lines of dialogue can change, which really throws me off.
And other thing is Kururu's voice. Good GOD. The Japanese voice is godly. The guy has done over 350 voice roles, and I can hear why. The dude has a badass voice! But in the Americanized version, it's thrown to a dude 1000 times less cool.

I DO agree with the Kururu thing, though. His voice is s**t in the English dubbed version. I was appauled. stare The other voices are REALLY bad, but are tolerable... at least to my standards. But if I had the choice to choose between the Japanese or English, it would definitely be Japanese. No doubt.

Okay, I'm going hardcore analysis all over this.
Japanese: I love the Japanese version of the show. Obviously for the reason of it ever existing and the English version wouldn't be here if not for that, but also for the voices and the writing. You can tell that they spent a lot of time trying to find great voice actors for the characters and I think that they really pulled through with. The writers are also brilliant and come up with amazing plots (that is, for the episodes that weren't in the manga). They also know when to have it funny and when to make it serious. It's a great combination and that's why it's awesome.
English: I love the English version of the show as well, although it does have some flaws that may or may not be solely my opinion. I love the fact that somebody had finally picked up this show and dubbed it, and for that I'm grateful, it really does have those hilarious parts like in the sub. However, some of the writing bugs me and some voices and character changes don't sit too well. FUNimation only has so many actors (and I'm sure its the same with the Japanese company) and they would be more likely to choose the more popular ones. Todd Haberkorn is good as Keroro, but I think his voice could be higher/scratchier, but I would much prefer a voice actor who is comfortable with the voice he is doing and can work with it, rather than having a voice that sounds similar to the original and can't do much with it. I love how they translated Japanese humor into American humor, but I think they need to tone it down a bit and learn when to have it funny and when to make it serious. I didn't appreciate all the deaf and old jokes for the old man who owns the toy shop; that was a sad part and one of my favorite scenes in the sub.
Platoon Character Analysis: Keroro - I didn't notice too much of a change in Keroro's character after the transition from sub to dub, which I like.
Giroro - Once again, not too much of a difference, but I feel that I don't really feel his love for Natsumi as much in the dub as I did the sub for some reason that I can't put my finger on.
Tamama - FUNimation changed his love for Keroro to a "man crush", which I do't like too much, because it doesn't give his that much of a reason to hate Mois with everything in his heart.
Kururu - Ah, my favorite character. Let's see, They kept the mad scientist who likes to inflict pain and cause misery, which is awesome, but they also added that he likes to receive pain and punishment. That sort of saddens me because it makes him seem less like a masochist and more like a freaky deviant out to fulfill his fantasies (maybe I'm stretching that a bit), but not everything is a joke and you don't have to add weird character quirks so you can vacuum pack more jokes into one episode.
Dororo - I like Dororo as a character in the sub, he seems to be the only one who has kept some level of sanity, but the writers still find a way to keep him serious but add a running gag to make him funny (the who did we forget gag). However, in the dub, whenever he goes to use one of his fighting moves, he always says something like "Super Hippie something or other". He's not a hippie, he's a ninja who is one with nature. Once again, not everything has to be a joke.
All in all, I like the Japanese version better, but I'll kepp buying the dubbed version to support them in the hopes that they'll get it right eventually.
