I would probably go buy all his games. And even if ZUN died, I'm sure fan projects would rise to a point where touhou would be noticed beyond the point of say, some random popular RPG. O___o"
In other words, I would miss him, but as a counter, I'm sure there would be way too many fanprojects and dedications... >.>"

Tsuki no Inaba DON'T THINK LIKE THAT! YOU'LL JINX IT! Meh. I've always asked that question to fellow fans every now and then and nothing bad happened. He's certainly gonna die someday, and we fans will have to ensure his legacy goes on somehow.

He's certainly gonna die someday, and we fans will have to ensure his legacy goes on somehow. oh, well, that's simple. make a statue of him out of the empty beer cans that are responsible for his alcohol poisoning when it happens.

I would go to art school to learn how to color properly and start wipping out fan art like a mad man (woman in my case)

Hmm......Well, I'd probably push myself to learn how to run Danmakufu, then become the sucessor to ZUN's legacy.
But that will require me to get hammered before working on stuff won't it? xD

I actually hate beer, but a I would have a harder drink in memory. I think he should take his games to the grave with him. What are the odds that someone else will be able to compose the tracks that have been so suitable to the characters accompanying them? And do I really want to see canon disseminate into absurd fanon? Hell no! I don't want to see an "official" game with a *****, or an Alice who's lonely and seeking attention. How did that Alice one even surface anyways? This is probably just negative talk anyways but if the man suddenly died what are the odds that he would have given away the name and copyrights to anyone? Isn't he a solo operation? If no one has any claim to official ownership then any game that comes out after something like that will just be fanon, I certainly won't look at as anything more than that. Never was a fan of fan-made characters anyways, they tend to be self-overhyped, forced Mary Sues.

I think the Alice Margatroid article on Encyclopedia Dramatica explains it pretty well. To answer your second: close to none. And yea, anything released after ZUN's death would indeed never belong to the official corpus. I'd say it'll be something akin to what happened to Tolkien's works, but with weeaboos instead of Western mass media companies. Perhaps something as meaningful as ZUN's death would finally push me to write this bunch of ideas I always wanted to make a conworld out of... seeing as how Gensokyo would have been the last "utopia" I became interested in, and the last one to fail me...
