This lush, ancient world is heavily forested and known the Galaxy over for a single fact: It is the location of Luke Skywalker's Praxeum, or Jedi Academy.
This training ground for the warriors known as Jedi has of late seen much traffic, ranging from new Masters to adepts and padawans training to confront threats unforseen by any force in the universe.
It is a dangerous world, the thick, endless jungles filled with vicious predators and fascinating herbivores alike. Dotting the landscape are the ancient Massassi Temples, long abandoned thanks to the efforts of the Sith in millenia past.
These temples are ancient, grey and tan Ziggurats, draped in the growth of centuries and mostly abandoned. Only with the arrival of Luke Skywalker and the New Republic have they again been populated. They were, for a time, used as the headquarters of the Rebel Alliance, but several of these mysterious structures were destroyed in Imperial Bombing Runs as the first Death Star's remains rained down from orbit.
The Great Temple of the Massassi is currently being used by Luke Skywalker and his Jedi trainees, the expansive structure used for housing, training and guiding the new generation of Jedi.
Across the jungle, far from the Great Temple, another structure stands: An eerie, black temple with an ominous statue standing atop it. This ziggurat is actually powerfully charged with the Dark Side, and can only be reached by a path of stones hidden beneath the glassy surface of a lifeless lake around it. This is the temple of Exar Kun, the greatest Sith Lord who ever lived.
The Trainees avoid this region, as do the Masters. Past experience has proven that relics of the Sith are far too dangerous to be tampered with...
Cities Of Note: None. The Jedi Temple is the primary landing and departure area. All traffic should enter this safe haven, 'lest they get attacked by the predators of Yavin IV.
Sentient Species Of Note: None. Exar Kun's purge of the Massassi race left this a dead world as far as Sentients go. Their ruins are everywhere, and rumor has it a few remaining members of their race, warped into dark beasts of the Sith, may still stalk the night.
Nonsentient Species of Note: MORE LATER.

*At the primary Complex of the Jedi Academy, there is a rather simplistic training area: A broad stone platform set beneath the open roof of one of the temples, some five meters above a shallow pool of blue water.
Ringing the grey platform are benches, laden with various Padawans, Apprentices and new Jedi Knights. None of the true Masters are currently watching the training here, but one of the high-level Knights, Marin Duun of Kel Dor, is showing one of the students how to combat an enemy when a lightsaber is either unavailable or out of reach.
He is a Kel Dor, a bright-skinned, hairless being with a set of tentacle-like growths draping down the sides of his head. A pair of opaque goggles have been secured over his sensitive eyes, and a grey-green breath mask has been affixed over his mouth and nose. He requires this, as he requires a specific mixture of gases to breathe in oxygen-rich environments, like that of Yavin IV.
The student, a dark-skinned Twi'Lek woman, apparently doesn't know how to react to a trained hand-to-hand specialist. It will take work and diligence for her to match him.
For now, she learns the hard way how not to fight: She's swept deftly off of her feet with a practiced low kick behind the heels, grabbed by the front of her tunic, and thrown head long off the side of the platform. She lands in the pool below with a splash, at which point the Jedi Knight walks over to the edge and leans forward.
He speaks with a slightly tinny voice, as the breath mask's speaker can only do so much without sounding artifical.*
Marin Duun: Come on, Shezria! This is the ninth time today we've been over this! You have to feel your surroundings, as well as watch them. You won't always be able to rely on the force to detect danger. Go back to your quarters in the dwelling temple and get some dry robes. Meet your Master in the Deflection Range with your Saber. I understand you still need practice at stopping stun bolts.

Shezria squealed as she was thrown over the edge of the platform, feeling the slight rush of falling before quickly hitting the water. Even though it was a fairly shallow pool, she still found it hard to get her bearings and stand up, giving a sharp inhale indicating she thought the water was particularly cold. Climbing out of the water and back onto the platform, she bounced around a little bit in a circle, whining a bit at her displeasure at being wet.
She wrapped her arms around herself and quickly made her exit from the platform, not really wanting to stand around infront of every one else with sopping wet clothes. It was a fairly good walk from the training area to her quarters and she was jogging a little bit, eager to get back into some dry clothes. The people she was passing were only shaking their heads again; she gets thrown into that pool a lot.

*Amongst the students are two of probably a small handful of actual humans that train at the temple: Eitak Llewdik and Aiva Inej. Both females look odd even for humans, possibly due to the fact that they in some strange way try to blend in better with thier non human classmates. Eitak was about as short as humans came without being dwarfish, or some sort of racial mix, and was rarely seen without her black hair in messy pigtails and a can of spraypaint at her side. Aiva, on the other hand, was a curvy, attractive young woman who had no qualms about showing her body off with the outfits she wore, and had her hair seperated with two long, thick braids in front, one long thick ponytail in the back.
Both were among the students watching the demonstration that day, and were probably the most verbal about how poorly the Twi'Lek girl was doing with the session. Despite several warnings to keep thier yaps shut, they still conversed in whispers, making comments about how badly the last fall must have hurt, or if Shezira was 'going to be feeling that one in the morning'.
They weren't -bad- students, perse. ...okay, scratch that. Eitak was. In fact she was the temple's numberone trouble maker extrodinare. She was KNOWN for being in almost constant trouble with one superior or another. Aiva was the generally good student, but she hung with the wrong crowd due to the fact that she hardly excelled at all as a Jedi.
Sooner or later, that whispering of thiers was going to get them in even deeper, too...*

*Marin Duun turns on the other Students and rests both hands on his hips, staring for a moment before raising his voice to get their attention.*
Marin Duun: Everyone! Hand-To-Hand Training is over for the day. You may go about your business. Ai, you need to learn to be quiet. The reason Shezria failed to avoid me this time was because she could hear your comments. I want you to head to the Library and retrieve a holodisc from Hatoocha. She'll know the one. Just say I sent you. And keep your little friend out of trouble!

*Aiva jerked her head up upon hearing her shortened name being spoken. Her face falls a bit, a muttered 'damn' being hissed between clentched teeth. She waits until Marin has turned away from the two of them before she grabs Ei by a pigtail, yanking her down roughly.*
Aiva: YOURFAULT!
Eitak: AHHH! LEGGO! *she screams, flailing about frantically* I'm sorry, Ai! You know I hate these lessons-LEGGOAITHATHURTS!
Aiva: Good. *she grunts, thrusting the girl back up with so much force that she knocks her head in to one of the pillars they were sitting near. Eitak bounced away from it, yelping in even more pain as she's now rubbing both sides of her head, wincing more on the side that impacted.*
Eitak: ********, girl! Do you think you could abuse me any more? You were talking just as much as I was!
*Aiva mutters and grabs Ei by the arm, a little gentler this time, and drags her to the library.*
Aiva: I only act like this when I'm around you, idiot child.
Eitak: Oh sure! Blame the young one who doesn't know any better!
Aiva: Don't know any better, my a**! You behave this way completely on your own volition! And don't pull the innocent eyes with me, they won't work this time.
*Eitak sighs, realizing once again that Aiva does know her entirely too well. The two pratically grew up together, so it wasn't a huge suprise. Aiva continued to lead the younger girl down the hall in to the libarary, stopping before the front desk to address Hatoocha.*
Aiva: Marin sent me-...us. Sent us. Again. He said to retreive a holodisc from you. *she explained with a sugary sweet smile.*

*Sitting behind the desk in the Library, Hatoocha stares at the two girls with large, watery eyes. She's a Hutt, but a small one. She was raised away from others of her kind for the most part, and doesn't have any of the hostility and greed of her kind.
The Hutt is wearing an extra-large robe of sorts, sans hood, and sitting on a hover sled for ease of transport through the halls of the library.*
Hatoocha:Meega Kweenachana ha, Aiva? Tochana woota homana tchu?
Galactic Translation: More trouble for you, Aiva? What did you break this time, eh?
*The jovial Hutt gives a deep, rumbling laugh and activates the hover sled, levitating away from the two students and disappearing into the glowing blue and white stacks.*

*Aiva resists that hugely growing urge to slap a hand aganst her face in fustration. Bad enough she was one of few humans there, worse that she had Eitak for a friend and damn near sister...it seemed everyone was intent on reminding her that she could be 'so much better' if she could just stay out of trouble.*
Right. Better'n what? Maybe Shezria if I was LUCKY. Hah. Right. What they're failing to see is that I'm an all around failure except at two things: getting in to trouble with Ei and shooting. If that damn blaster hadn't nearly fried my brain...
*A frown suddenly came to her features, along with a light sigh that caught Eitak's attention.*
Eitak: Ai? You all right? You look down allovasudden.
Aiva: Hm? Oh yeah. Completely fine. Really.
*Her sudden monotone betrayed her obvious upset, but Ei knew better than to press the matters futher. Instead the two wound up waiting in uncomfortable silence for the Hutt librarian to return.*

Shezria had made it to her room and changed out into a dry pair of clothes and had spent a few minutes messing around before she finally left with her saber in hand towards the Deflection Range. She didn't particularly care for this part of training either.
Making her way through the academy, she walked out onto the Deflection Range with a sigh, searching for her Master and HK. She had modified her droid to help her Master out, and it seemed to work out fairly well, though HK, as that odd little droid preferred to be called, didn't always take to its duty with much... enthusiasm.

*On the deflection range, there are various Jedi Students, training with small hovering spheres known as remotes. One or two yelp as they get stung with stun blasts, while the others seem to be deflecting the shots rather easily.
Across the range, a small, blue-robed figure is sitting atop what appears to be a single-wheeled mushroom-like droid with flexible tube-like arms.
In the Library, Hatoocha returns with a Holodisc stored in a clear plasteel casing. She hands it over with a quick nod and settles in behind her desk again.*
Hatoocha: Chalgana Motcha Eengo, docha. Sintarils untoocha roe.
Galactic Translation: Be careful today, girls. Sintarils are around.
*Sintarils are, essentially, opossum-like entities with long whiskers. They are vicious, swarm-hunting creatures that can strip a grown Runyip down to it's bone structure in minutes. They must eat almost constantly to survive, and will attack anything they can.
Master Skywalker had energy walls set up around the Academy to keep them out, but once in a while, they came through. That was why Master Skywalker had several Knights on hand trained in calming beasts primarily, as well as Extermination Droids if it was required.*

*Aiva took the holodisc with a thankful nod before leading Eitak out of the library. SHe figured they should both watch whatever was on the damn thing before they got in more trouble. Besides, keeping Eitak locked in her dorm was the only way to keep her away from the walls she so desperately wanted to tag again. It seemed the younger girl was preoccupied with something else, amazingly enough.*
Eitak: Sintarils! Those things are never gonna leave this place alone so long as they see all this food wandering around!
Aiva: Ei! Don't be so crude!
Eitak: I'm serious! Didn'cha hear, Ai? *she leaned in to whisper conspiritally. It didn't work very well, due to the huge height difference and the fact that Aiva was unwilling to bend down to listen to Ei's gossip.* Some kid got killed last week by them! The knights that stand gaurd out there couldn't get to him in time!
Aiva: Why do you listen to such garbage? You know its just rumors and hearsay! Ugh! If I wanted this I would have gone to a regular academy! You'd think Jedi in training would be above such drivel! *she threw her hands in the air, storming off to her room to watch the vid by herself. Eitak stood in confusion for a moment, wondering why Aiva had blown up so suddenly like that, all at a stupid rumor.*
Eitak: HEY! AI! Damn, wait up, would you! I have to watch that too! *she suddenly yelled, pounding the floor after her friend. Ai gave a grunt but voiced no complaint about her coming along anyway, and the two went in to Ai's room to watch the vid.*

*The File that Ai has obtained quite simply says "Bakura 104" on the front of the disc. Any student at the Academy has heard of the Battle Of Bakura. Without the aid of Luke Skywalker and the heroes of the Republic, an incursion by a xenophobic reptillian race could have wiped out the entire Bacta Supply for the Galaxy.
Without Bacta, there would be no medical treatment for the sick and dying, aside from primitive (and invasive) techniques.
It's not yet part of the learning material for the students of a certain age, but apparently Marin Duun considered it worth obtaining. Perhaps he intends to upload techniques on how to battle the Sii-Ruuk into the training modules.*

*Ai had flopped down on her bunk just as Eitak had entered the small room. She held the holodic in front of her face, staring at the title with a frown creasing her features. Eitak leaned over to get a better look.*
Eitak: OH! Ai, I don't think we're supposed to watch it! I think he wanted it brought to him!
Aiva: ...now THAT makes more sense. I was seriously questioning logic there for a moment.
*Eitak gives a grin, one of those that says 'hey I was smart for once!'. Aiva simply rolls her eyes and grabs the girl yet agian, dragging her back down the hall as they set off in search of Marin Dunn*

Shezria walks across the range and over to the small, blue-robed figure and the droid, "Hello Master, HK." She was pouting a little bit. She didn't like this part of the training, though she was getting better at it, she still ended up zapped atleast a few times. "Marin Dunn said you wanted me to meet you here for more deflection practice."

*At the Deflection Range, the small Master looks up at his student. Glowing yellow eyes stare lantern-like from beneath the azure robes. There's an incoherent series of clicks, chitters and odd sounds from Master Jek Tk'niket, which the wheeled Droid readily translates.*
HK:Recitation and Translation: Yes, Shezria. It is time for another training session. Activate your blade and I will release the remotes. We will be taking a step up today, and you will be training against two.
*The Droid wheels itself over to a pressure plate and comes to rest on it, turning to face Shezria.*
HK:Query: Master, why do you continue this pointless exercise? Surely we could find a better choice of action in your life than this mostly....Pacifistic......career.
*If a Droid could possibly sound truly disgusted, the Recycler sounded thusly as he forced the word "Pacifistic" through his vocabulator.
The Jedi Master swats the droid on the domed side with one foot and chitters again.*
HK: Alarmed Exclamation: A memory wipe?! Oh, no! I am in no need of such a rash course of action, Meatbag!
*Back in the main Temple, Ai manages to find Marin Duun speaking to a Technician who's trying to set up a new, secondary repulsor field to keep the Sintarils out.*
