INFO: Siblings & Housing Aaka+ Aershaa Name: Aaka + Bonded Name: Trintika + Aershaa Type: Air + Aershaa Breed: True + Gender: Female + Height: 5'1" + Aershaa Personality: Aaka tends to balance out Trins' simplemindedness. She enjoys spending time with Trins and Shuri, her more-than-a-little-bit-of-like-crush. She also loves to nag Trins, and often makes it a game to correct her and irritate her. There are few things she dislikes, but among them are the colour orange and the word "walrus." +Extra: Aaka's name means "mother" in Eskimo, which is something she desperately wants to be. Here's hoping! { Aaka }
Housing The Lindell House is a roomy, airy place with plenty of space. It's not a mansion, but quite close. The foyer is (like the rest of the house) hardwood floors and colorful paintings. There is a coat closet to the left and a table piled with mail to the right, but little else. To the left of the foyer is the master bedroom, straight ahead is the living room, and to the right is the kitchen and stairs.
The living room consists of two well-worn chairs, a couch, a coffee table in the middle and a dusty television on the far wall. The television is covered in finger prints, and teh coffee table is littered with paper. The rug on the floor is matted, but clean, and it is apparent that the room is very lived in. On the left side of the television is what looks like a closet door, but actually contains a teeny-tiny bathroom. To the right of the television is a sliding-glass door that leads to the backyard, which is really only a deck with a grill and lots of grass.
The kitchen is modest and big enough for only four at a time. There are the usual appliances (refridgerator covered in magnets, oven and range, toaster, and coffee maker) and little else. The sink is usually full of dishes, both dirty and clean. The small cabinets are full of herbs and spices, as well as a mountain of junk food. Connecting to the kitchen is a small dining room with a table for four and a window looking out on the backyard.
Upstairs are the two "children's" rooms and three guest bedrooms. There is only one bathroom, however, so beware. Each bedroom has a bed, a closet, a nightstand and a beaureu.
And so concludes the tour of the Lindell House.

INFO: Events & Announcements { Necklace } Laima's necklace. @__@ Shiny, no?!
{ Uluen } This is how she looked when I first got her; all curled up and asleep.
{ Ellundel } I took this picture right after we got her jewelry, and I think she rather likes it.
{ Thuseris } She really is an elegant young lady, and she's growing into herself nicely.
{ Seris } Her most recent picture.

Aubri just stopped by with Laima! She's so adorable! She's so tiny, and the lightest shade of blue, but I can see the slightest hint of white markings on her. I'm told she's almost a teenager, which makes me nervous. But, I suppose I went through it with Aaka, so I'll be able to go through it with her.
Speaking of Aaka, where is she? I haven't seen her in the past few days. Oh well, I suppose she'll get home when she gets home.
I'm really too excited to write much, plus I gotta pee. And I've gotta go get Laima's new bed! I do truly feel lucky to have her-- hence her name, which means "Luck" in the language that my ancestors spoke, apparently.
Okay, really gotta pee now.

My, but this little girl does seem to be growing up fast! And she's a quick learner too; her English is improving drastically (what a relief; it's not such a chore now to tell her to stop chewing on my scarves!). She's been all over the house, in every nook and cranny. Why, she even showed me a secret passage she found the other day! She's adventurous, but keeps to herself most of the time and is happy enough to be left alone for a time.
Also, she's rapidly changing physically. In just this past week or so, I can see her changing into a beautiful young lady. I'm thinking about buying her some jewelry; after all, diamonds are a girl's best friend!
Crap, she's tearing up the purple scarf again.

Sun. Feb. 26, 2006
I finally went out and bought her some jewelry; she pretends it's too much, but I know deep down inside she loves it. She's got an armband, two bracelets, and two earrings now. When we went shopping, she insisted one of the earrings be silver-- I'm not quite sure why.
Her English is quite good now, which is fantastic. She's turned her interests from chewing scarves to wearing them, which is also fantastic. This week has just been a blast, except for when Aaka came home. I mean yes, I've missed her, but the house looks like a sty now! I think I'm going to have to do some major cleaning up today, and Laima's going to get her first taste of chores.
Oh, the excitement is simply tangible.

Note to self: buy Laima a portable CD player so she stops blasting that music.

It has been a while since I've updated, hasn't it? Well, I've been busier than usual, cleaning the house and such. I went to visit another owner the other day-- Hakim-- and had a lovely time. He has just found out his Dumyr has been chosen as an apprentice, so that's very exciting. Let's see, what else...
Oh! I think Laima has finally reached her teenaged stage. What was it called? These... those... Thuseris! Yeah, Thuseris. She's being a bit more mature about things, which I love, and is helping me with my daily crossword puzzle (which I also love). She really is a smart, charming young lady. She's finally turned off that rock music and put on some Enya (though I never bought her that portable CD player). However, I'm hoping this is just a phase too, because all this Enya is making me sleepy!
We're going to go visit my parents this week for a few days, so Laima will get to meet them. I hope it turns out well!

Needless to say, things turned out horribly. Not the perfect-until-the-last-minute-then-ruined kind of horrible, but the kind of horrible that is like a premontion before you get there and a dreadful reality when I arrive.
Of course Mom and Rodriguez (she just got remarried for the 3rd time a few months ago, and I think this one will last) welcomed us warmly, but things started going downhill within the first few hours. It turns out Mom has an allergy to cats she never told me about, and Laima isn't hypoallergenic. Therefore, Laima and I stayed at a nearby hotel (I wouldn't dream of making her sleep outside at Mom's!) for the whole trip, and I had to lintroll myself every time I left to see mom. Laima only spent one evening with the whole family, and it was a rather depressing evening on the whole.
Did I mention Aunt Kathrynn stopped by? My heavily purfumed, heavily clothed, heavily everythinged aunt who loathes me? On the one night Laima stopped by? There was shouting and farting and a whole manner of terrible things. Never have I been so glad to come home to my quiet, peaceful home-- and I'm betting Laima appreciates it a little more now, too.

Thur. May 4, 2006
I haven't written in quite a while, but it's been relatively quiet around the house. I've been working on my book, and Laima on her big book of crosswords. She seems to have allergies or something though because she keeps sneezing (which is ADORABLE) whenever she goes outside. I've been giving her tissues all the time, but I don't think I should give her Claratin or any allergy medicine until I figure out exactly what it is. She seems to be fine while she's inside, though, so she's just limiting her time outside.
OH! My friend Ella came over the other day and gave Laima the CUTEST doll. She claims to be too old for it, but it's been at her side all week. When I get film for my Polariod, I'll put a picture of it in here. SO CUTE!
