"Oh! Look, Hermie, I see the first star!" Tari exclaimed before grabbing her aid as he walked at her side, sending the pair of them tumbling down a grassy hill. They ended up in a heap at the foot of the hill, both young creatures laughing with their play. Much as Hermes was something of a stuffy young bird when it came to his mistress' well-being, he was still as young as she and enjoyed play whenever she did. They rolled apart and lay on their backs, both of their wings spread slightly beneath them as they looked up at the darkening sky. They wouldn't stay too long, as both gained a preference for traveling in the coolness of the night rather than the heat of the day.
"Look, see, there it is," she added, pointing one paw up at the sky at the single star, winking in the heavens. The young bird of prey looked at it for a moment before turning to his goddess and grinning as best as a bird could.
"You've got grass in your mane, babe, and a smudge on your cheek," he replied and they both started laughing again. It had been a while since they had taken a break in their travels and roll about and stare at the stars. They wouldn't stay put for very long since they had places to go, prides to investigate, gods to find, messages to gain and deliver. If there was one thing in her life that Tarisi took seriously, it was her job as goddess of Messengers. The act of delivering word/information safely from one individual to another, it was all she really had outside of Hermes and her search for her mother and father.
Taking messages was her job. Gossiping was just a beloved hobby.

Lucretia was so excited! Ever since her mother said she could go and then for her father to agree she had been in the best of moods. Nothing could wipe the smile off her face. She had Khuluma with her and they could talk all the time with no one to tell her to stop or go and train.... oh and no arguments! It was like heaven!!
"So where are we going to go Khuluma?" It was getting dark and she still wanted to explore. It had been a couple of days and she hadn't calmed down in the slightest. She would happily talk and jump about all day and night but she wasn't completely stupid she was aware that she had to sleep but still she didn't have to go to sleep! She could sleep whenever she wanted and it was awesome. She was just too excited.
"Is there anywhere you want to go?" Okay so she had probably asked this question a hundred times in the last couple of days but she was still just too excited. In fact she was so excited she didn't notice anything around them and noticed everything. She saw everything differently but didn't really register seeing anything. Her father wouldn't have been impressed but she didn't need to care, what was going to hurt two godlings?

Traveling wasn't anything new to him, and he essentially found the whole thing tedious at times when he wasn't without anyone. However, Lucretia's excitement had made the experience new and refreshed his sense of bright-eyed adventure. Her energy was contagious, and he found himself talking on and on throughout the day and well into the nights with her. Often times he would be uttering a sentence to her right before it was cut off and he dropped off in sleep. Having a traveling partner was the best!
However, as she was excited to see and do new things, he was left wondering exactly what they could do. There were plenty of places he had been, but still plenty he didn't know about. "Well, I know of a few places – prairies, the swamp, the mountains, and even the Haven for the Gods – not a fun place mind you - but I always wanted to head off to the beach. I haven't been to the ocean as of yet, and what better time to go than now?" He flicked his tail, smiling at the idea of looking out into the great blue and feeling sand. Not desert sand, but beach sand. He was sure it would be amazing!
Khuluma, while not a fighter or hunter, had a great sense of hearing. It came from being able to listen and talk back, and he stopped in his tracks, looking about. Ears pivoting, he looked around. "Do you hear something?" It was quiet this time of night, and he worried about the silence. He hated the dark. Ever since he was a cub sleeping alone and needing to find shelter, he hated the night. Even after meeting the Goddess of Night AND the God of Nocturnal Animals, he still didn't like it. It struck up a chord of fear. He started to sink down to the ground, ears back and wings closing tight around him. "Could be trouble….." He decided that if it was trouble, they'd run. They had to find out what it was first. Rising back up, he breathed deep and called out. "Anyone there?!" It came out sound less confidence than he would have liked, his voice breaking at the end. He 'ahemed' himself. Stupid voice.

The rise they had tumbled over wasn't too tall, and Hermes was a fairly tall bird, so when he jumped up at the sound of another creature's voice, he could be clearly seen by the godlings. But he couldn't see them very well, so his plumed head twitched from side to side, trying to find the maker of the sound. "Who's there, Hermie?" Tari asked in curious, pleasant tone.
"I can't tell, babe. Can't see anyone," the secretary bird replied in a low tone, not fearful, just wary. He didn't want to startle his goddess and besides, the voice sounded young. Tari stood and as if their minds were linked on a single train, they both launched themselves into the air, fluttering high enough that they could see the two gods. Tari's ears perked up in a friendly manner and she waved a paw in greeting.
"Hey there!" she greeted, the pair of them landing on the rise so that they could see the pair. It'd been a while since she had seen other gods, and the only one she had run into was Rama and he wasn't her age. At least these two were closer. And the boy had jewelry kinda like hers!

"The Gods Haven is really boring and has snow.. anywhere but there please!" Lucretia had been there, she had been stuck there for ages and hated ever minute of it. It was boring and snow was cold and wet and icky.
Lucretia stopped when Khuluma said he heard something. She felt bad that she didn't notice before but stopped and listened as well. She crouched down as she listened. She loved to crouch down and make it harder to see her, that way she had the advantage. It seemed her fathers training hadn't left her.
The sign of a bird though made her relax a little though she did contemplate catching it. It would give them something to do, not that she had ever asked Khuluma if he knew how to hunt.
Then a goddess arrived...
"Hey!" She called out when she noticed the young goddess and she was with the bird? Well she had met a goddess with a bat so it wasn't all that odd. She turned to Khuluma and smiled.
"Do you know her?" After all Khuluma had mentioned that he knew lots of gods!

He almost felt foolish for getting worked up over a bird, and he breathed out, rising up to his full height once more. Just a silly fowl, and a rather intriguing one at that. Traveling tended to accredit you with a wide knowledge of birds as far as bird watching went, and while he had seen the smallest and the biggest, this one had to be the most slender. Like twigs with blue feathers. It should haven't been any wonder that such a strange, new bird was flying with a goddess, who flew up alongside the crane and soon flew back down to land before them.
What a great day (uh..night)! He was wondering if Lucretia was going to say she was getting bored with not seeing a single god or goddess about when he was telling her he had seen plenty. They usually, just like this case, popped up out of the blue. What was even more thrilling was that this goddess was their age. What he was more personally aware of was her jewelry. A spark ran across him as he noticed how similar her jewelry was to his, and he looked down at his own bracelets and to her necklace to compare. It was probably the first time he met a god who looked, in any way, similar to him, and it brought on a fresh dose of hope that she might be - dare he imagine – a distant relative. Khuluma was hungry for any sort of family that was even remotely blood related, and he felt weak at the knees to even think it could be a possibility when all his life he thought he had no one.
"No.."He said, his voice sounded strange. "…I don't know her." He moved slowly towards her. "Hello….who are you?" He noticed her somewhat-blonde hair – somewhat like his but more curly. His tail flicked.

Tari grinned happily, curling her tail around her paws as she sat down. They seemed friendly enough, thank Mkodi she wasn't running into any of the less kindly gods she vaguely remembered from her past life. Maybe they were all gone, too! Which got her to wondering how others had seen her last time, but now wasn't the time to ponder that. She had new friends/contacts to make!
"I'm Tarishi, goddess of messengers, and this is my friend Hermes," Tari introduced, dipping her head in a slight nod. Hermes bowed his head lower than is goddess, spreading his wings just a bit before straightening. Much as he only truly wished to bow to Tari, he wouldn't go about offending other gods by not showing them the respect. That would make his goddess sad, and he would never EVER wish to do that.
"But some just call me Tari. Who are you?" The comment and question were added as afterthoughts, she was becoming rather distracted by the male's jewelry and hair. Plus Hermes had started extracting grass out of her hair. They didn't share quite the same shade of blond, but it was close and he had a similar style. Oh, wouldn't it be nice if they were related, on either side of her family? Maybe he knew her mother or father. And where she could find them! Stars and wishes, had they heard her hopes?
And the female, she had hair blond like hers, but really other than that and their base fur color and eyes, they didn't share many features. She didn't have wings or similar jewelry or hairstyle or markings. Not to say she wasn't pretty, 'cause she was. She just didn't strike Tari as any relation. Then again, maybe these two were related and she wasn't tide to them at all. It made her a little sad when her mind went there, but she never showed it when she was sad, only to Hermie because unlike with others, she had to be absolutely honest with her only true follower. She didn't have to change herself to get him to listen to her, inside or out.

Lucretia had picked up on the fact that Tari and Khuluma were pretty much staring at each other and she didn't like it. She flicked her tail behind her slightly annoyed.
"I am Lucretia and this is Khuluma." She spoke quickly, her voice a little harsher then normal but only Khuluma would have probably noticed. She wanted some attention, especially from Khuluma. What was so special about this goddess?
She didn't know why she was suddenly jealous of this female she had never met before, that neither of them had met before but she was. She wanted to attack him and tell him how down right stupid he was for staring at her but she didn't. She liked Khuluma and didn't want to hurt him but she wanted attention to!

He did indeed hear the slight change in tone that Lucretia was giving, and looked over to her in a questioning manner. What was wrong? He had no idea what was bugging her right now, and looking back, he wondered if it was because she didn’t like birds. Then again, they were traveling together for a few days now and she didn’t seem to mind the flocks of birds that flew overhead. Was it Tari? They jus met, so how could she dislike her? The Messenger Goddess had done the right thing to give her introductions, so it couldn’t have been that.
While Khuluma might have asked, he was far too preoccupied with thoughts that he found a relative to give too much on Lucretia’s change of attitude. He was sure it wasn’t anything major.
“Yes, I’m the God of Rhetoric, and she’s Harems.” It was good to give domains too, just for future reference. Not wanting to have a whole conversation on what they did for a living, he moved closer and peered at her jewelry. “You have great taste. Your jewelry looks just like mine…just silver. And you’re hair is a nice shade of blonde.” Even if he wished it was less curly and lighter. “…and your wings..” He lifted up one of his own wings and checked the golden tips before looking at her wings. Hmm. They were too bronze when his was much lighter, and then there were the leg wings and the rainbow colors. He didn’t have those, but maybe they were from a father or mother………maybe his father or mother.
He continued inspecting, when his eyes landed on the feathers. It wasn’t hard to see who they were from, and he smiled. “Ah, you met Limbuko!” He pointed to the feathers, smiling. He knew the God of Pleasure since he was very young. If he was wiling to give away some of his feathers to her, he was sure that she must be a nice Goddess. “A great God. Always a pleasure to meet a friend of Lim’s.”

Well, that was interesting, she got something of a negative vibe from Lucretia and her first instinct was to tune herself down a bit. But she wasn't really sure what it was that caused the vibe, so even though Tari was very big on tweaking her personality or appearance to make others more comfortable around her, but she wasn't perfect on judging what she needed to change.
Tari smiled at the flattery from Khuluma, her mind starting to work over their domains. She didn't remember those domains, they did sound interesting though. She kinda felt like asking them to elaborate or them, but Khuluma's compliments were distracting her. A paw brushed at her mane when he mentioned it. Hermes chuckled a bit and nipped at her paw, chasing it away from his grooming.
Tari laughed a bit and was about to explain her friend as her paw fell back to the ground when the young god addressed the feathers behind her ear, the only clue she had to the identity of her father. Her blue eyes shot wide, ears perked up, and her wings spread slightly, the picture of excitement. "My feathers?? You know who they belong to? Oh, please tell me about him, do you know where I can find him?" The words left her in a rush as she tensed, fighting every muscle in her body to keep from rushing to Khuluma. She didn't want to embarrass herself any more than she possibly already was with her eagerness at finding out about her father.

Lucretia was clearly not part of this conversation and she didn't like that. In fact she wasn't liking it at all, was it always going to be like this? She would question Khuluma about it later, at least they had moved topic away from the goddess in front of her, at least she had changed the conversation.
Lucretia had never heard of this god that Khuluma spoke of and so she sat down and wrapped her tail around her, waiting to hear who he was. Not that she cared that much... well she did but she was still slightly annoyed by how little she seemed part of it. Then again she had nothing in common with the godling in front of them, after all she had a bird! An odd bird at that, hadn't she met a god with a bat and that stupid godling that walked around with food. Well each to their own. She was fine on her own.
"Have you not met the god who's feathers they are?" Lucretia suddenly picked up on what the godling had said. It seemed a little odd that she had feathers from a god she had never met before.

He hadn’t expected such a excited reaction and the intensity of her joy made him step back from her spreading wings. Whoa! He must have hit something importantly unintentionally, and he quirked a eyebrow that traveled up into his bangs. His mind was thinking the same thing Lucretia was. Why would anyone keep feathers to a God they had not meet? Aside from being very pretty, he didn’t think someone would fall in love with them enough to track him. Still, there was no harm in answering. He just hoped he wasn’t sending a stalker of some sort towards Lim.
“Yes, I know him. I met him once before when I was very young. One of the first gods I have ever met who taught me how to fly from the God Haven down to the mortal world.” It seemed ages ago since he was a cubling, and he found that he missed Limbuko. Now that he was older, he wished to meet him again and give him his many thanks for helping him when he had no one around. Without flying, it could have been forever since he learned how to fly on his own and mustered up the courage to fly down from the mountains to the world below.
“He’s the God of Pleasure. Very friendly and very kind. As to what he looks like…hmmm..Well…” Khuluma leaned over and using one of his claws, started to draw a rather basic form of Limbuko. “He’s a lovely shade of lilac with white hair. Instead of wings, he has long feathers from his back. He also wears the prettiest silver jewelry, but not so much like yours. What else…Ah! He has horns, and a vine wrapped about his tail.” The picture was a rather crude lion with sticks for horns. “I’m…not the best artist.” He pointed out, looking up at the two of them with a little embarrassed look.
Moving on. “He also has some relatives who also hold some of his feathers. I met a mortal lion named Narcissus who was his son. I don’t know if he has any others. Why are you looking for him?” He wanted to be sure that this lioness would not do anything to harm Lim. True, she looked sweet, but she could cause trouble if she wanted.

Tari listened raptly to Khuluma, taking in every possible detail of her father. She heard something about a God Haven, had no clue what that was, but wrote it off for the moment because finding her papa was TOTALLY more important than that. Very friendly and kind! Oh, she loved him already! Would she be able to find him soon? Would he accept her? Would he recognize her, even? Too many questions floated through her mind as the young male described the god of Pleasure. Pleasure, that didn't really go along with her domain, but then she might be closer to her mother in that aspect. Then again, spreading messages and word could be very pleasurable, depending on your preferences. Tari sure found giving and receiving news or even gossip as a pleasurable experience.
She actually teared up at the thought of finally having a name for him, an appearance, a hint of personality. One minute she was sitting there listening to Rhetoric and watching him draw, and the next she was hugging Hermes, laughing and clinging to the friend who had always been with her. "I know his name now! We can find him, Hermie! I have a brother!" she exclaimed as the calm bird of prey patted her back with one wing.
"You better explain a bit, babe. They look a little lost," Hermes replied and gave Lucretia and Khuluma a small smile and a shrug. His goddess moved away from him at that and rubbed at one eye with the back of her paw. "When I was born, my mother left me with a mortal pride who took care of gods. One of my first memories is one of the priestesses telling me what my mother told them, that my name was Tarishi and that the feathers she gave me were from my father. 'Til now, I, like, didn't have a name or anything, just these feathers." She paused for a moment to smile and sniff a bit. "Now I have a lot more to help me find him."

Lucretia listened to both gods and then decided that a father who didn't stick around wouldn't be worth finding. She had of course always known her father and probably would always know her father, she couldn't imagine why any god would leave their godling with mortals in the first place.
She knew better then to voice her views though and so she just looked at the female as if she was some poor orphaned cub all alone. The bird clearly didn't count as company.
"Why do you want to find him?" She was curious. "He abandoned you." It was the only way Lucretia saw it. She knew nothing of flings and the odd night with another. She had grown up with two parents, two god parents and they were always around. If one left it surely meant they didn't want her and so... thats how she saw it. This godling's father hadn't wanted her so why would she look for him? She wasn't going to mention mortals though, she hadn't honestly met many mortals, her parents views just rubbed off on her a lot.

It was a touchy subject no doubt, but not only for Tari. Khuluma's ears turned back at the harsh word 'abandon' and felt his own insides twist into a knot. He had been struggling all his life to understand why he was born alone and without parents, and he still had no clue if he had any relatives and, if he did, why they didn't look after him when he had been so young and new to the world. The beginning of his life had been spent looking for his parents and now – well now, he wasn't sure if he should bother. He had met the Goddess of Sight and she had said she was looking for her mother to help her remind her. Of what – he wasn't sure. Remind her that she had a child and what a mother was suppose to do. He didn’t think that was a child's job. There was a heated ball of poison in Khuluma's gut that said that any parent who left their child didn't deserve them and even worse, deserved to die. But then there was always that sick, horrible hope he had that he might find a reason why he was alone. That he might someday find out the reason why.
"She wants answers, don't you Tari? Why he left you? Why your mother behaved the way she did? Why you weren't good enough to keep? Why your father isn't here with you now or bothered to stay with your mother? Why you had to grow up alone with only a bird and mortals, mortals who couldn't understand what it meant to be a Goddess, and not with your own kind from the start? Why – in the end – you are alone?" His voice was flat, a dead tone of restraint and his eyes focused in a sharp clearness of dark blue on the Messenger Goddess.
"I hate to think that Limbuko might be a horrible father and that he simply didn't know, but if he is the type, I can't forgive him for that. A parent who leaves their child to be alone – is not a parent. If he doesn't need you, in the end Tari, you are free to come and travel with us. I've never had family and I don't stick with a family who doesn't need me." His tail flicked at agitation in the recollection of Palahala, a god who offered him a family but didn't want him in the end.
"At least you are lucky enough to have evidence of your family. For all I know, I could just exist without connection to anyone." It was heavy note to bring up, but he shook it off, not wanting to make everyone hush up. "I haven't see Limbuko in some time. He travels a lot, but you should ask around with both Gods and Mortals. I know he must talk with both. Some even hold his feathers. I say look for those." He stepped closer to Lucretia. All his talk of missing parents was bringing him down.
