It was the best of days for Zydra. It was cool, a calm breeze blowing through the hartland and she would soon be helping a yearling in need. Oh, how she loved young herla. Just the thought of it sent her prancing towards her destination.
"Armani~ Sweet heart, it's me Zydra. Where are you?" Her long tail swished happily behind her, unable to hind the excitement she felt. "We're going to find you a new thicket today, sweety. Where the bad monsters can't get you." Zydra giggled happily, weaving her way through the thin forest where she remembered Armani's previous thicket to be.

Not far off from where Zydra was sat a very tiny, normal-looking thicket, or rather it would have looked normal if not for the very oversized yearling sticking out of it. The purple yearling had made an effort to cover herself totally with her thicket but, that effort had been in vain. All of her back end was sticking completely out and she looked well...totally pathetic.
Armani's ears twitched once, hearing a familiar voice. "Zydra...?" she whispered, looking around for her shiny, blue friend.

Zydra couldn't help but laugh at the sight that was Armani half encased by the thicket. It was utterly adorable! She pranced over to the younger herla and nuzzled her affectionately. "Dear one, don't you think that thicket is a tad too small? Why don't we go find you a bigger one today. One that will fit you much better."

The little purple yearling wiggled her tails much as a dog would when Zydra nuzzled her. Though Armani did have mothers of her own she was beginning to view her new friend as a sort of mother figure too. Why had her real mothers never helped her with her thicket?
Armani looked down at her now tiny thicket. She had never thought of it as small before but now that she looked...it was a lot smaller then it had been. She nodded sadly as she got up and looked sadly at her blue friend. "Wou'll welp (You'll help) me won't you Zydra?"

"Of course darling. Any thicket you want, with anything in it. But first we need to figure out where you want it~" She leaned down and nosed under Armani's chin to try and get the yearling to smile again. "Where would you want your new home, hmm? By the river, or the meadow? That's where I have mine. Or maybe keep it here in the forest? We will find one where ever you want it."

Armani smiled and giggled when her friend nosed under her chin. "Anwee (any) one I want?!" she piped up excitedly, clumsily getting to her feet.
"Where do I want it..." Armani turned her head slightly to one side, thinking this over. After several minutes of being deep in thought, she piped up again with a little squeak. "Could I wave (have) it by you Zydra?"

Zydra's heart did a little flip and flutter, "Of course you can, my sweet! There is a wonderful copse close to mine that would be the right size for a growing yearling." She wrapped her tail around one of Armani's and smiled softly. "Come now, let me show you it and see if you like it. It is not too far, just to the meadow."

A huge smile crossed the purple hind's face when she heard she could live near her adopted mama. Pronking about happily for the first time in her life, Armani linked tails with Zydra.
"Zydra is it pwetty (pretty), is it?" she said, dancing around next to Zydra excitedly.

Zydra chucked, oh this was just too wonderful! "It's beautiful, just like you Armani~" She began to led the way through the forest to the meadow. "Oh, there are just more flowers than you can count. And butterflies and rabbits. And the nice herla and fawns like to frolic about there too, but they won't bother you in your thicket. It's all very open, so the monsters don't like to lurk around. You'll be perfectly safe."

Though it didn't seem like it would be possible for the little yearling, Armani's face lite up even more upon hearing about her new home. "No monstwers (mosters)? Weally (really)?" The whole thing seemed to good to be true but, Armani trusted Zydra so all this good news had to be true!
The purple hind giggled as she pronked along next to her friend. "I wike butterwies (like butterflies)!" she added, clearly in a much better mood then she usually was.

Zydra was near positive that any of these 'monsters' would stay clear of the meadow. And well, if they did go there they at least wouldn't go into the copses. She had been living in some of them for a while now and had yet to scent another herla around them.
"Oh, there are lots and lots of butterflies there. And at night, fireflies come out and dance like stars~." They broke out of the trees into the grassy meadow, a few herla nommed dreamily on the grass and clovers spread about. "Here we are. Now, see those little hills of trees over there? The closest one is mine, you can see the blue guardian fabric from here. There are a few more around it that you could settle into, would you like to look at them?" She smiled loving down at Armani, while she wanted to find a save place for this yearling to stay, she also wanted for it to seem as if this was the girl's idea all along. It would make her feel safer and happier in the end.

Armani's eyes grew wide with excitement under her hair when she saw the place, and while she wasn't sure before if there was any place had been safe from monsters, she was quite sure this place was.
"Wirewlies? (fireflies)" Armani said, twisting her head to look questionably up at her foster mama. She had never seen a firefly before but then she had never seen any place quite as perfect as this one. Wagging one of her tails and untangling the other from Zydra's she asked excitedly, "Way (may) I go see wem? (them)" Though the little yearling didn't wait for an answer this time, before Zydra could answer she had darted over to the copse closest to Zydra's. Sticking her head into it she wiggled with excitement before exclaiming, "I wike wis wone! (like this one)"

Zydra barely had formed a reply in her head when the yearling darted off. She smiled to herself before slowly trotting behind until they got to the copse. This would give extra time for Armani to explore her new home by herself. "It's very nice." She praised, sticking her head through some bushes to view the inside, it would have to be cleared some, but the trees had left a nice open space in the middle of the hill. "Plenty of room for a yearling to grow into." She leaned down and nuzzled Armani happily. "I believe you have found a new home. But now we have to make it yours."

Armani weaved in and out of the trees in her thicket, getting the feel of it, while smiling. "Wit's perwect (It's perfect) Zydra!" she exclaimed, dancing next to her blue friend, "no monstwers (monsters) will get me here!" She nuzzled up to Zydra before adding, "Twank (Thank) you Zydra...I duwwo (dunno) what I'd do without you."
Armani pronked back over to her new thicket, wagging her tails, before twisting her head around to look at Zydra in a questioning way. "How do I wake (make) it wine (mine)?"

Zydra walked over and squeezed her way through the bushes and trees to get inside the copse. "Well, first we need to clear some of this away. Unless you like the bushes. And then we need to find some guardian relics to put in here to make it yours. Like your pretty hat, but something you keep in here instead of wear. I have lots of shiny objects in mine, if you'd like to see." She pointed her tail in the direction of her home, knowing the fawn could easily run there and back in the time it took Zydra to wiggle back out of the thicket.
