I think this thread would belong it styles. If not, mods you can move it wherever. Anyway, I use a lot of humor in my writing. I tend to write darker fics and humor is necessary for them to be readable, otherwise they'd just be too depressing. I don't really plan my jokes, they just happen when I'm writing. They tend to be one liners that give a good chuckle here and there. They are subtle enough to know break the suspense of belief.
How do you guys write humor?

I counted three words. rofl
I hate how on the internet you have to put a smiley face next to sarcastic remarks. Totally disrupts the mood. mad

I try to get a witty character or two into the cast, who are there to ease the drama.
I use some situational humor, where the situation is what people will find humorous. Of course, I write these seriously, and whether it's read and funny depends on the reader's sense of humor. I try to be subtle about it. I don't like slapstick. But some situations are just funny.

Oftentimes if I use humor I either find myself tending toward 'dark humor' or sarcasm that almost tends itself to be quite literal.
I'm adept at using the blank face, in other words. But humor doesn't really come naturally to me. I'm more somber :3

I have the advantage of being a fairly humorous person, so I don't have too much trouble slipping it in here and there.
I use sarcasm frequently in dialog, but never in narration.

i find it impossible to write without some form of humor. Usually blunt humor, or something twisted.
