Have you ever heard this? My parents do not approve of me being bisexual, and the call it an abomination, however do they realize they are hurting us even more?

My mom tells me that if i like girls i'm going to hell, i cry about this. She says Eve was made for Adam not anyother girl.
Any other experiances?

This reminds me of "____ is the devil!" kind of speaking. Unintelligent insensitivity.

If it were true, that it started with 2, it doesn't mean things don't change. They wore clothing after being kicked out of Eden. Shame doesn't have anything to do with it, since nudist colonies show that it couldn't be the case. Clothing would be for protection against the elements. The point, things change on their own. If nothing changed, there would be no such thing as time.

To say something that may have not existed a few thousand years ago is wrong, is living in the past. Live in the past, and you don't have any real future.

Exactly if you going to take it from a bible point of view sure they were the first 2 people. But its shown in history that Greeks and Romans were bisexual. So yea times change

trust me, honey, throughout the rest of your life, people are gonna be using that damn book against you. there are going to be malicious people who say and do things that make you skin crawl, and all because you LOVE somebody. it's wrong, and they know that it is. they know that it hurts you. the sick thing is they LIKE knowing that it hurts you. people are sadistic by nature, hurting others because they don't understand them or because they don't agree with them. it takes a smart, compassionate person to NOT do that, and while there are plenty of people out there who will understand you and be nice, there's always going to be the danger of getting ridiculed for being who you are and even getting dragged by a rope from the back of a pick-up truck.

with luck, your parents will come to terms with your sexuality. it took my mom three years, and we're still having tensions about it. the thing is, when you can't escape the people ridiculing you, you need to learn to live with it. learn to smile despite the pain, learn to choose your battles with them, and understand that there have been times when people hurt you and you reacted unkindly. parents tend to think that their kids are gay to hurt them and disappoint them. why? i dunno, maybe a defense mechanism. but trust me, things get better. just don't worry about their stupid bibles or their little lectures. this is YOUR life, and you shouldn't change it or let anyone ruin your happiness just because you're living it the way you want to.

haha, sorry for the speech. similar experience, though? i had to leave my beloved church for that sorta crap (and the fact that just about everyone there was an idiot who couldn't even defend their Lord against my blasphemy)

I'm a Christian myself and I found nothing in the Bible that said it was ok to judge people like that. If you do that then you're just driving them away from your religion. Yes, I've heard that before and it's been said to me but that doesn't bother me or drive me away from my church because I know that they are the ones that are denying God and they are the ones who are going to Hell.

that's exactly what made me leave them. because they weren't worshipping god and were just abusing his bible and manipulating the people to hate the same people they do, i started to wonder why i bothered to go. i mean, half of the hour mass was spent listening to propoganda about how wrong everyone else is. they expressed a lot of issues with homosexuals, drug-users, 18 year olds still living with their parents who didn't have jobs, and other ridiculous topics not even related to the bible. it got to the point that i didn't even feel good leaving church. i can't stand listening to people lie to inosent people who only wanna get close to god. but that's just my shitty church (and, pretty much all the other catholic churches in the area, since they alterntae the same three priests every week.) so i'm done with church for now.

lol that's why my family's Lutheran. They tend to be way more accepting than Catholics because that was the original purpose of the Lutheran church, to stay true to the bible and I think we've done a good job so far.

I'm actually Pagan, but my parents are Lutheran...I told them I was bisexual when I was only 12 and they told me bisexuality doesn't exist that there is no in between of gay and straight...that made me really sad and I'm almost 18 now and they still are somewhat in denial of it...they're a little more accepting but it also sucks how ignorant they are...i actually recently came out to them as Transgender also...it took me awhile after the whole bisexual thing...my dad didn't say anything and my mom still thinks that its just a boy phase...she even told me that I should wait until i'm 25 to start hormones...that 7 years...I don't want 7 more years of being miserable...parents will always be in denial of it or rididcule but don't let it bring you down...just let them take their time on it and eventually they'll come to terms with it....I hope my parents do... sweatdrop

Regrettably some parents are like that but I have proof that bisexuality exists: Ancient Greece and Rome

parents ALWAYS disregard any hard evidence you give them to justify your sexuality. it's like, no matter what, there's always that period of time that they're in denial and then that they think you're only trying to hurt their feelings. it gets old fast, though.

My parents haven't said anything like that before, but I've had a close friend say that I'm "bad" lol cuz I'm bisexual. We got in a fight about religon for a few days after that.
When I finally told my mom that I was bisexual, she told me that it was just a phase. After bit of talking she told me that I was her daughter and she would love me no matter what.
I am way to scared to tell me dad though. Every time he even thinks someone is gay he starts his rants about how gay poeple are gonna make God destroy the Earth. He once told me that he thinks that California is gonna sink in the ocaen cuz there are so many gay poeple that live there. Hes wierd like that. I can't wait to see what he says when he finds out I'm not christian. He'll probebly throw me out of the house or get me an exorcism. lol
