i think we started off on the wrong paw.... It's not that I want to start over with Chel completely, but I really didn't grasp her character when I first received her. It's taken a lot of thought and impromptu RP to sort of figure this girl out, and I want to give her a real test drive. I won't start over completely, her arrival will stay the same, but her means of arriving will not. That is to say, Chel will lie and say she was sacrificed when in fact, she was punished.
I'm looking more movie-verse here when Tulio and Miguel first arrive to El Dorado. Because she's a thief, she was going to be punished as a sacrifice to the cenote and because of a huge cultural misunderstanding -- and partly out of Khan's very obvious selective hearing -- she's made an example out of. So yes, she meets Tulio and Miguel, but she never quite gets to know them other than to begin a scam she'll never be able to complete. She is the execution.

What We're Dealing With--
A thief
A little white! liar
Denial
Bitterness
Heaps of suspicion and distrust
What We [possibly] Need--
A promised way home
-- a broken, false promise (trusting a villainous group?)
A wake-up call! Preferably from someone older. I think she needs her a** verbally handed to her some way.
For Chel's pettiness to get her in some real trouble
Possible friendship(s)
-- A hitch in said friendship on her part
Someone, whether romantically or not, Chel thrives on attention. She comes from a very close-knit community, suddenly thrown to her own devices is going to leave her skittish and disoriented
I'd really love for her to try to carry on her thieving, thinking it's necessary, and getting caught in the act.
It'll take a lot for her shell to crack so she can trust someone, so if there's anyone out there willing (and stubborn!) enough to try, go for it!
Any plot ideas or quick shenanigans? I'm game! Drop me a line!
