Ara was in trouble.
She staggered through the forest, falling against trees and using them to push herself back up and keep moving forward. All the while she kept thinking 'Damn snakes!'. It was one of the few times she wished she was part of a tribe. Ara had no idea how to treat a snakebite. She didn't even know what kind of snake it was, or how poisonous. She had been wandering towards Cruor lands when it happened, and it didn't take too long for the vemon to affect her.
Ara fell against another tree, but this time her legs went out from under her. She didn't try to get up, but instead laid there panting. She wasn't hungry, but there was nothing to drink, nothing to heal her, and nothing to protect her. Ara wasn't sure she would even last the night, for if the venom didn't kill her something else was sure to. She had landed on her side, and that's where she stayed. She drew her legs closer to her body and tucked her head a little so that she was in a pose reminicent to the fetal position. All she could do right now was wait.

"Shadow beast forsaken runt." Odi said as he stalked through the land. His eyes looking around for a red fox who had dared to attack him because Odi was a murder. He didn't care about the name calling, the fact he came to Curor and attacked him was past what Odi would tolerate.
As his eyes scanned the area he caught sight a puff of red. Odi crouched low, he wasn't going to kill him, he was going to have a hawk rip his face to shreds. He thought diabolically as he moved closer to the pounce. Just second before he pounced he hesitated seeing a familiar pattern and risked walking around to see.
He was in utter confusion as he found himself looking at Ara and she wasn't looking too good. His eyes trailed up to see several vulturs watching her, never a good sign. "Ara are yo-what is that?" He said leaning in close moving fur to see the bite mark. "Oh no you didn't..." He said looking at the bite it was from one of two snakes in Curor, a adder or a mamba. Both highly dangerous.

"Hey Odi," Ara said faintly. She was pretty sure it was him, anyway. Her vision was going a little fuzzy and sounds seemed to come from far away, but the voice sounded about right and there weren't that many black, white, and yellow critters out and about in this part of the woods. And the angle of her head made it fairly hard to see anything but her paws.
She tried to lift her head to get a proper look at Odi, make sure it was him, but the best she could do was a shaky two inches before she had to put it back on the ground. "I didn't," she protested weakly, "it did. Not my fault it built it's nest in the middle of a berry bush." For now Ara was still coherent.

Odi looked Ara over with a frown as she spoke. She was still conscious that was cruical. "Okay I know it wasn't..." He knew this was bad, he seen what those two snakes could do to animals bigger then a fox. He knew she was in real deep trouble.
"No lay still. Stay calm." He said, he knew the effect. More you moved the faster you died. "Okay your going to be fine. Ara tell me...was the snake short and fat and made a big hiss? Or was it long and slender umm arrow shaped head and the color of it." He said frowning as he started to lick the wound. He didn't know if it would help but instinct told him.

"Just saw the tip of it tail, looked kinda fat," Ara said quietly. She frowned just slightly as she tried to remember. "Light brown-ish, with really dark zig-zaggy patterns on its back." The snake had bitten her on a back flank, so it was lucky she'd seen much of it at all.
Ara did as Odi said and laid still. She didn't have much choice, it hurt too much to do otherwise.
((Trying to describe an adder, not sure how well it went over XD ))

Odi listened to her and give a slight sigh of relief, the adder was less venomus but not by much. At least he knew he had more time, if it had of been the mamba he might of had to put her out of her misery. "Okay...umm I'll have to try somethings I learned from people." He frowned thinking about one of them was to get a small dose in him so he could get immune to it and she could drink his blood as a weak anti-venom.
"Okay Ara, I have to do some things...I'm sorry." He said as he put his foot on the wound and pushed down. Old wise tale, making an individual bleeds take some out but weakens them. It meant time gained and for a little while but lose in the end.
He started to control a vulture to go locate the snake giving it the hope of bringing it to him it eats it.

Ara whimpered just a bit when Odi stepped on her wound. It had swollen ever so slightly, and was the most painful area on her whole body. She could smell her blood as it oozed out of the wound. The assumption probably was poison left with the blood, that or less blood meant the poison wasn't as quickly circulated.
Well, that was certainly the last time she attempted to reach a berry bush in the middle of tall grass!
((I changed the title, it seemed more appropriate since it's Odi XD I can change it back if you liked the old one though.))

"Ara, why? Don't you know to stay away from snake spots like tall grass or places you can't see into?" He asked frowning as he took his foot off her side and watched the spot. Swelling was low so it was fresh.
Flapping of wings caught his attenction and he looked up to see the vulture drop the snake near him. In a quick second he switched control to the snake and frowned as he saw images in it's head of biting him. "you get your wish." He grumbled as he stuck out his leg and he let it lash out but made it hold on. "Just a drop." He said frowning at the pain and few a few drops enter his body and the snake let go. He turned back to Ara as the vultures attacked it. He then went and walked off and brought back some soaked moss. "Here." He said gently as he put it on her forehead. His leg already started to burn.
((I like the name lol, he feels so awkward, killing and healing is two different things.))

Ara chuckled weakly. "Shoulda seen the berry bush Odi. More fruit on i' than green. Woulda fed me fer a whole week." Ara's speech came out a little soft and tired, like she had just been woken from a week sleep or something. She was having to fight the urge to close her eyes and drift away into painless sleep. The coolness of moss gave her a feeling to hold onto among the pain that wracked her body.
((Hmmmm, I has an idea in mind. An eeeeeevil idea. MUHAHAHAH!!))

((Do it!))
"I know..." He said frowning as he walked off to soak the moss again, he didn't need her to pass out. Maybe food would help?
He came back this time with a few strawberries with the moss in his mouth awkwardly. He put the moss on her forehead again then bit the berreis so the juice dripped into her mouth. "Keep talking Ara umm...remember when we went to the beach, how I ran?" He asked her as licked her wound a few more times.

Food no longer seemed appetizing to Ara admist her pain but she managed to swallow the juice. Any other day she'd be thrilled, strawberries were some of her favorites. She chuckled a little at the reminder. "Like a kit experiencing his first thunderstorm."
((You'd have to actually implement my idea somewhere along the line lol I have no power over it.))

((Yeah I know.))
Odi frowned as he looked her over, this was hell. The swelling looked so puffed up he frowned. "Yeah, I hid under that bush." This was just a down slope event now. He sighed as he looked at his own leg, it wasn't as bad but it hurt so much. "Ara...I love you." He said licking her a moment then walking away, he knew what he had to do...Sin would kill him if he did.
He made quick ways to the entrance to the Shadow Beast's home. No one was around, probably hunting. Odi stopped at the entrance studying the entrance the air went in out like breathing. "Shadow Beast...I am Odi your loyal servant. I..." He went silent as if someone told him too then he continued. "I want to make a trade, Ara a fox not of this tribe is going to do from a adder bite...I want to save her. I'll give you my first kit if you save her." He watched silently, the breathing seemed to stop. He frowned and started to walk away heart broken. Suddenly he heard a slight hiss and turned to see a white mamaba follow him all the way back.
It looked at Ara for a moment before moving over to her and silently bit deep into Ara wound.

Ara felt like she was floating. She had slipped a little further away when Odi left. She didn't even know he was gone. Words were jumbled and indistinct. The last thing that seemed clear to her was Odi whispering in her ear, but she couldn't find the words to make sense of them. Her breathing slowed considerably. Somewhere deep down, Ara knew she was dying. The pain as starting to go away as the world darkened.
That's when a sudden sharpness shredded it away. Ara knew she was alive, cause death wasn't this painful. She almost wished to be back in the dark nothingness. The haunch that had been bitten felt like liquid fire was coursing through her veins, ten times worse than the first bite had been. It moved slowly, burning. Ara wasn't sure if she was screaming aloud or just in her head, but it didn't help. And just as suddenly as it started, it stopped. She lay on the ground, sides heaving as she breathed in heavily, caked in sweat and dirt. All of the pain was gone now, right down to the snake bite.
Ara lifted her head and looked around. She spotted a white snake by her side before it just seemed to melt away. The place where it had bitten her would always leave a scar. She looked around, spotting Odi. Her eyes were a little wild and panicked, not sure of what was going on.

Odi sat watching the scene before him silently. He frowned when he heard Ara screaming but he just closed his eyes. He wasn't going to interfere, he couldn't. He was probably lucky that the shadow beast didn't even kill him for disturbing it, now he have to hope Sin wouldn't find out Odi did this. He'll talk with Ara later.
As the snake bit down Odi was amaze to see that it bit not like a regular snake did, reaction like. It had a look of...pleasure in giving Ara the pain and life at the same time. When it was over he rushed to her side ignoring his own side effects of the venom. He'll need to lay down soon and rest.
As he went over to Ara he started to lick her quickly and nuzzle her. "Ara...I thought I was going to lose you." He said quietly to her. His breathing coming out tired.

Ara let her head fall back to the ground, catching her breath. "Not that easy to get rid of me." She chuckled weakly from the after shock of the pain. She had several questions for Odi, but they were all bouncing around her head right now, not making sense. So she let it go until she could calm down.
Ara turned her head to lick Odi on the cheek, and noticed how tired he looked. "Forget me though, are you alright? You look tired."
