Mother: Tasanee Mingnath, currently 45
-Married at the age of 17
-The quiet, and yet capable support for the men of the family. A sweet, caring individual, she is, however, uncomfortable with any physical displays of affection, especially towards her sons. So chooses words of encouragement to guide them along. Believes in a woman's duty towards her family and is happier working towards their comfort.
Father: Narindai Keopichenda, recently deceased at the -age of 52
-Married at 24 to Tasanee, whom he reportedly fell in love with 'at first sight'
-Died of heart failure
-A friendly, likable man. It was said after he died that his heart was big enough for the world, but not big enough for himself. He was a capable tradesman and established lifelong friends in many of his contacts, securing exclusive contracts for his family. Almost obsessed with leaving a legacy, he invested himself in his work and his sons, most notably Kietyn – now his successor.
-Desired to have more children between Kietyn and Soraida, but all attempts failed, causing some question as to Tasanee's fertility, a question that was answered when two more children came promptly in succession some years later.
Eldest Brother: Kietyn Keopichenda, now 25
-The somewhat quieter, but diligent brother. Intent on seeing his family succeed, his role as provider and administrator has hit him keenly since his father's passing. Always the serious one, he stepped into his father's shoes with very little misgiving.
Younger Sister – Kisana Keopichenda, now 15
-Just a year behind Soraida, so as they were growing up, they were constant playmates, which resulted in a very brief tomboy phase; one that their mother quickly trained out of her. She is a sweet, energetic girl with sparkling eyes...gifted with a quick wit and just a hint of her brother's temper, she and Soraida are still very close. Even though she usually works with her mother, she always finds time for her 'Aida.
-Currently plans are in the works for her to be married to a young man of affluent family, one of Soraida's close friends who is but two years her elder.
His Life in Azhe:
Soraida adores being around people, and takes the chances to do so at every opportunity. An eager participant in their business of importing tapestries and fine linens, Soraida is the friendly smiling face that negotiates transactions with the outside world and meets with the contacts that will form contracts with their company to buy the goods that they can provide them. There is also a small sect on their mother's side of the family that clandestinely transports jewels from the base of the nearby mountains...this has brought in a particular sort of clientele and not to mention standing in the community that they might not otherwise have garnered.
Living in the cozy spot between upper and middle-class, Soraida oft makes much pretense of being nobility. He's never really wanted for money or anything else, all the children of the family a bit spoiled by their kind-hearted father. Often he does not realize the value of luxury items, having only been schooled in what linens and gemstones are worth.
A social butterfly, Soraida is always being invited to some party or other, and he relishes a crowd. He has many acquaintances, but few close friends. Due to his emotional nature, he is fond of 'bottling' for professional reasons, and then allows his anger to explode later, which often results in scuffles with his fellows. Most of which they joke about later. Romantic liasons, if any, have gone unheard of despite his flirtatious nature. After all, such things would not be appropriate. So his free time is spent at parties and other time-wasters, or with his sister at home, chatting about inanities.
When his time is not free, he is doing a small stack of necessary paperwork in order to keep things filed and in order, or is interacting with business associates of some form or fashion. Usually the latter. With their father gone, it is important to keep the business running smoothly, and the old contacts appeased. However, in his own way of dealing with his grief, Soraida now stays out of the house as much as he can manage.
History:
Born in Azhe as the middle child in a family of two sons and one daughter, Soraida had few cares as he made the progression from child to man. Whist his elder brother was groomed to be the successor to their import business, no serious guidance was given to the young man until he was nearly eleven years of age, and his raging temper in the wake of impending puberty had gotten him into several fights with children his own age. It was then that his father put him to work, trying to establish something of a work ethic in the youngster...as well as a set of morals, and a drive to succeed in the future. Set forth to be the 'ambassador' of sorts to their trading partners, negotiating deals and garnering new clients. It was during this time that the youth formed a solid bond with his sire, admiring him in a nearly worshipful fashion. Soraida took to these dealings like a fish to water, and journeyed with his father on a series of business trips to learn the family trade, which specialized in the trade of tapestries and fine linens. However, there was a small sect on their mother's side, who sent a small detachment back and forth to the mountains in a clandestine fashion...in order to mine the gemstones that could often be gathered at the base, and the trade of even these unpolished and unrefined stones had earned the family no small amount of social standing.
Thus it was of great significance when, on his sixteenth birthday, his adored father awarded him not only the official position as ambassador to their clients, but also made the precious gift to him of an amulet, one which he wore constantly thereafter. Then, in the winter of that year, a particularly troublesome for those in the outlying villages, his father collapsed, and some time shortly thereafter, he died peacefully, asleep in his bed and surrounded by his family, his legacy. This passing was, however, devastating to Soraida, who took to being outside of the house, whether for business or pleasure, as much as was possible. His near-reckless behavior became a constant worry to his family, and most notably, to his little sister Kisana; only at her urging would he manage any real sort of sleep.

Appearance:
Since Soraida loves to attract attention, he would naturally wear whatever would cause heads to turn in a pleasant sort of fashion. He loves rich colors, fine fabrics, and intricate embroidery. Practicality has little or nothing to do with his choices, and yet he does like something comfortable in which he has some freedom of movement, being an energetic spirit on most days. His color schemes are usually dark, rich reds, purples, blues and blacks with an elegant splash of gold.
Spending a great deal of his time indoors, Soraida is average in skintone, but the shade veers towards the lighter end of the spectrum for an Azhe. His eyes are a warm, liquid honey-brown and are somewhat wider than most, giving him a strangely guileless look that is usually over-ridden by expression and posture. Disliking those eyes, he gives them a more exotic appeal by applying a dash of red above them, something that he can get away with given his standing and the fine nature of the goods his family trades. At least he believes he can get away with it.
He also sports a head of dark hair, ebon with nearly-blue highlights. More than once, he boasts, it has been compared to midnight. The cut of it is also striking, as fitting with his nature, the top is all swept layers, whilst far longer locks drape about and before his ears, riding down past mid-chest.
Even for an Azhe, Soraida is slight, standing just above five feet, three inches, he, unlike his much taller brother, seems to have inherited stature and build from his mother's side of the family. Thus, if one examined the Keopichenda family, one might think him to have inherited a woman's build. Not that this has stopped him, he is most definitely male.
His prized possession and weapon-to-be is an amulet hung with square, gold links - a brass-set red star ruby that was gifted to him upon rising to his place within the family and the family business, a present awarded to him by his late father, he is never without it and considers it a symbol of all he's ever accomplished, all that he's ever been worth.
Personality:
Soraida is a cocky, albeit personal sort of playboy type, who whilst he is perfectly capable of handling responsibility, often chooses not to do so. However, he has a strange charisma to him, finding himself at perfect ease with strangers and friends alike. He adores throwing himself into a crowd and weaseling his way to the center of attention. A chronic flirt, he often uses this particular trait to cover for any of the character flaws that he is painfully aware of. Despite his devil-may-care attitude, he fears that some day his popularity with the human race at large will fade, and he'll be left in the dust. To that end he usually tends to push himself out of his comfort zone to the point of exhaustion to attend to both familial duty and his large social life. Blessed with the gift of communication, he oft-chooses an almost arrogant, superior air that wordlessly insists that others flock to him. Despite all of this, Soraida all but worshiped his late father, and so is left with a profound sense of family honor and obligation. He is, however, an intensely emotional creature with a quick, but fiery temper and an almost vicious loyalty to those close to him. Often has a certain disregard for the value of things.

Future Plans:
Soraida has a naturally emotional and volatile nature...and yet a profound sense of duty. These two combined make him seem especially fit for a place as a fire-mage... In a hand to hand combat situation, Soraida would be lost, so if he cannot make use of his magic, he will probably revert to talking his way out of the situation. A clever young man who loves the idea of intrigue, at the very least he would likely be able to delay until he could get a shot off at his opponent. At least...that is what we hope.
He should have some trouble adjusting to his new life, however, and yet have no shortage of acquaintances within a small amount of time. It will be interesting to see how quickly he will be able to reconcile his natural talents with the tasks he is set to.
