 Hampton was out watching as the sun slowly sank into the sea. It cast upon the sky the colors of purple, pink and orange with hints of red and yellow. It was a wonderful sight.
The Soq put his hooves in the cool water thinking that it would get dark now that the sun was setting. However, the moon was already out and it was almost full. That would make enough light, or so Hampton thought.

It had been a long time sense Fireflies had visited the ocean, he was much... Younger, then he is now. But, he convinced himself, he was still very young and full of youth.
Fireflies could be seen clearly in the night air, with 10 thousand lightning bugs following him, some in the jar helping him carry it with him, and some just dancing around him, trying to get him to join in. But he just really wanted to to play in the water today. Instead, he would just watch them.
Fireflies slowly gazed his eyes upon a horse near the water, a creamy colored horse that was setting his hooves in the water. Fireflies grave a small smile before picking up into a trot and moving towards him. "Hey there!" He called out, a grin obvious on his face.

Hampton saw the light coming from the other horse before he actually saw him. He looked over and gave a small smile. That was helpful for the dark that was quickly approaching.
"Well, hello there. It's a nice night, isn't it?" Hampton greeted the other stallion with a nod.

Fireflies finally slowed down when he was beside the other, smelling his fur just a bit, " Yeah, it's a beautiful night. We love it when the moon is big and round like this." He replied, a smile still visible on his features.
The lightning bugs, though staying as near as they could, would not follow their friend close to the waters, instead they flew to above them, a bite of a ways above them, and watched the two horses from up there.
Fireflies looked at his buggy friends, chuckling, "They don't like the water." He told male stallion, before looking back towards him. "Why are you out here all by yourself?"

Hampton was about to ask who 'we' were when his questions was answered. The other horse was talking about his bugs. Well, that was interesting. Hampton had never thought of bugs as more then just that.
"That water is nice, but I can see why they wouldn't. As to why I'm alone, well I don't know. Just didn't' have anyone to come share the sunset by the water with." Hampton answered with a nod of his head.

Fireflies tiled his head a little as he watched Hampton, was he all alone out here? He couldn't imagine what it'd be like to not have anyone to shade his experiences with. "Well... Now you do!" Fireflies exclaimed, looking back at the sun which was moving down it seemed, if Fireflies didn't know any better, he'd think it was crashing into the earth. But he knew it wasn't..... That it just looked that way.
He watched the sunset with Hampton, not wanting him to be alone, it was be hard to see anyone alone.

Hampton smiled and nodded. "That's right, I do." The male chuckled to himself for a moment as he watched the sun-setting. "I'm Hampton. It's nice to meet you." He finally said with another nod.
