Filanth was growing larger with each passing sevenday, the small and awkward green now blossoming into a fine beast as she entered the length of time that Tiepet would be spending as a Senior Weyrling. Her wings were no longer ungainly for her to walk with, her stomach no longer always so empty that it pained both dragon and rider alike. Even the sound of her voice, that soft call Tiepet loved to hear more than anything else in the world, was growing older and more beautiful as time went on. It always melted the small Shepherd-turned-Rider's heart to hear her dragon's voice, as words were seldom shared between them. There was no need for such things, they had a connection far beyond idle conversation.
The day started hot and a little muggy, the sun rising against foggy clouds that threatened to bring a common string of afternoon sunshowers, but it meant little to the green and her rider. Both young females were at the shoreline, as always, their toes buried in the sand as they set their gaze out against the horizon. Today Filanth had wanted to look for signs of dolphins, supposedly a pod was coming in, and Tiepet had been more than happy to oblige. If it meant sunning on the beach, snuggling together in a place that was warm and sounded so safe, she was all for it.
"Nnnn.....it's nice out today Filly. I'm glad you wanted to come down here, it was hard to sneak away but always worth it."
The green rumbled her pleasure as she moved her head down and nuzzled Tiepet's cheek, the massive wedge nearly dwarfing the small girl's torso. It was an act they'd done so many times together before, and no matter how large Filanth got it would remain this way.

Today was a lazy day, too hot and humid to run. Usually S'dekai would have been racing down to the water, wanting to be the first one on the beach so he'd have enough time to swim before chores and breakfast and everything else that needed to be stuffed into the day. But over the past few months, he had been gradually learning the value of slowing down. There was an art to appreciating moments without worrying about the future so much. And the subtle architect of this change was walking at his side, taking one stride to S'dekai's three.
It is good for you, Pioth remarked lightly. You don't feel so tired all the time.
What did a dragon with a memory span of less than a week know about time management? A lot, apparently. The huge bronze (still not as large as some of his color, but definitively larger than any in his clutch save Cavenath and Ianath) spotted his clutchsibling and warbled a greeting to Filanth and Hers. S'dekai knew Tiepet from lessons, but he hadn't spoken to the greenrider as much as he would like. Perhaps now would be a good opportunity.

Mine, we're being called. Look up.
Tiepet looked up from where she'd been resting against Filanth's leg, the young rider having been dozing in and out thanks to the heat and the pleasant rumble that was Filanth's breathing. The whole concept of them looking for dolphins had been completely forgotten with the passing of a candlemark or so, and most of their time had been spent in just this way. She'd heard the warble (it was what roused her, not Filanth's voice), and slowly pushing herself off her dragon she stumbled to her feet. Her knees buckled a bit from the sudden weight and the uneven nature of the sand, but still she stood strong. When Tiepet was barefoot there was little that could knock her down.
"Greetings, S'dekai."
Yes, Tiepet knew his name. He would know her of course, and their dragons would be in the same. Lessons with one another had made less strangers of the people that surrounded the Shepherd, yet it didn't make them her friends. She kept to herself mostly, her and Filanth, so any encounter outside of lessons for her...was rare. Not that she was outright avoiding people or anything. At least her stuttering was getting better.
"W...what can I do...for you?"
Pioth.
