Fifth was at least mildly paranoid as he finally cracked the lock in the small, hidden door at a school that he'd never actually been near, let alone inside. From what Gabriel had told him, this place had a pool in it, this building out of the rest on campus in particular. Said boy was currently clinging very tightly to his father's hand, wiggling slightly and looking surprisingly uncomfortable, something that was very uncommon for Gabriel to look.
"Daddy?" he whispered, something else that was very uncommon. His red eyes were big and worried, affixed to his Daddy's face, two of the man's large fingers clutched tightly by both of his drastically smaller, green-tipped hands. Fifth glanced down, the smile that he gave Gabriel a poorly-created plastic one. "Are you almotht done yet?"
The smile on the man's face perked up at least a little bit at this question and he nodded, pushing the newly unlocked door open. "Looks like I'm completely done, sport. You remember the plan, right? Wait out here for Vali while I make sure that there's no one here who might get your Daddy into trouble, deal? I'll come back asap, knock at the door in that signature pattern, you knock back, I'll let you in, we'll head to the pool."
Gabriel smiled, flicking his tail and feeling important as he tipped his large, feathered hat to his father. "Aye-aye, Captain!" he said cutely, grinning widely as Fifth let out a barking laugh and slipped into the large, unlit building. Humming quietly to a song that he could barely remember from one of the gang member's radios, he bounced back and forth, too-big pirate's coat fluttering softly as he waited for his favourite walking, talking mirror to show up, glad that Damien wasn't there to ruin it for once.

Vali looked at the letter in his hand and then up at the school walls. The place looked like it was closed for the day if not for the summer. Glancing back down at the letter the tall trim spawn made his way around the back of the building to the entrance that the letter said.
His tail flicked along behind him before it moved up along his pants and towards the end of his shirt. He was worried about today. All the letter said that he needed to bring a swimsuit and a towel. He had both of these in his right hand. He wondered what this teacher would be like. He did not recognize the name. And he did not think that a robot could teach him something that would involve a swim suit.
As he wondered about this whole ordeal he caught a glance of someone that looked rather familiar. He tried to remember and he drew closer.

Gabriel continued to hum softly to himself, a baseless tune, though it was definitely in-tune, especially for someone his age. His tail tapped gently on the wall that he was leaning up against before he suddenly noticed the fact that there was a certain glint on a nearby horizon. Crimson eyes widened drastically, though winced soon after with the brightness that reflected off of his friend's skin. Quivering a bit, waiting to make sure he was at least kind of seen as well as making sure that it really was Vali, he flipped his tail to either side like an excited puppy. Finally, with a happy squeal, he jumped up and ran toward the mirrored male, hat flying off in the process and being completely ignored as he tackled Vali around the waist, still squealing as happily as a preteen girl going to a Jonas Brothers concert.
His tail wagged around crazily, torn headwings and green-tipped ears pointing straight up in happiness and excitement, plan that he'd made with his father completely ignored as far as right now was concerned. "Vali!! ValiValiValiValiVali you'rehere you'rehere you'rehere!!" he squealed excitedly, as though trying to prove it as a point to the older male himself, though he was still not letting go. He'd had no idea how he was ever going to find his favourite animate mirror ever again, making it even better that his Daddy had gotten stuck with teaching Vali a skill - in this case, swimming.
"My Daddy'th teaching your clath!! Hith name ith Fifth and he teacheth thpawnth how to do random little thkilly thingieth, like how to thwim! But you prob'ly know that'th what you're doing 'cauthe you gotth a thwim thuit and thingth!" he ranted, giggling a little randomly in-between his comments. "I dun'no how to thwim, though, but Daddy thayth he might teach me, too. But, um, we don't gotth any money or nothin' and Daddy doethn't have 'nuff money for uth to go to a big ol' pool-plathe, tho we gotta go to a thchool!!" He was oblivious to this being a bad thing.

To say that Vali did not feel a jolt of fear race threw him as he realized that the figure was in fact Gabriel, that squeal though louder this time was unmistakable, would be a lie. He wanted to pull away and forget even coming to the class suddenly but before he could even think about turning around he felt the hight grip of thin hands moving around his waist and holding tightly to him. For once the metallic spawn was wearing a long sleeve shirt and pants. The only think showing of his metalic body was his face, hair and hands.
"Gabriel...I did not know you would be here. What are you..." He started to ask, his voice had dropped to a rich low tone though it was strangely devoid of emotion but it could not be call monotone. Before he could finish the younger spawn answered for him, "Oh...your father is...teaching me. I did not think I would see you here." His confusion did not show up on his face. Why would someone he had brought to tears and sickness be so excited to see him? The giggles and touching was welcomed, but how long would they last?
"I don't mind coming to the school. I don't have that much money either." he turned his head down to try and look over the other spawn but it was hard to when the soft warm head was pressed against his solid toned abs. But he did manage to see the busted up head wing. He bit his lower lips softly and moved his hands down to Gabriel's shoulders. "You have grown since I last saw you. And you look happier." He was tempted to ask how Damien was but his mouth would not let anything about the other twin come out.
His right hand moved up to softly run a finger along the broken base of the torn wing. He could not help himself when wings were involved, he always wanted to touch them. He pulled his hand away slowly as his tail betraying his need and want to be cuddled moved to snake aroud Gabriel's waist. "We....best not keep your father waiting then..Fifth was it?"

Gabriel's headwings were pointed straight up, his ears as upright as they were anatomically able to be without hurting, tail wagging like a dog's as he nuzzled happily against his metallic friend, almost a little too happy to see that he was there. Such was what happened when a pride demon met a living mirror. After a good amount of cuddling and nuzzling, Gabriel finally backed off a little bit, though would easily tackle or otherwise latch onto Vali if he tried to leave or even thought about it. The boy nodded enthusiastically, quite happy that his dad was teaching this friend of his, tail still flitting about erratically. "Uh-huh! Not lottha people know that Daddy teacheth thkillth clatheth, but he bringth me with him a lot, 'cauthe he doethn't trutht any of the other gang memberth to take good care of me without being creepy or mean or ignoring me!
"Well, and thome of them don't like me lotth. Daminen doethn't come with 'cauthe he thtayth back at the 'Thility with thith guy named Cat who Daddy thecretly hateth for thome reathon. I dun'no really why, but Daminen liketh running 'way lotth and even though motht daddieth would be a-thcared that their kidth would get kidnapped or thomething, Daddy'th not thcared 'cauthe he thayth Daminen can take care of himthelf, even though he very, very thecretly knowth that Daminen'th at Cat'th houthe!!" Gabriel explained, going through the words in what felt like little more than one breath, speaking each word as though it was a very important piece of information. After all, the words were coming out of his mouth.
Gabriel giggled happily when his growth and happiness were pointed out and he stuck his tongue out at the older boy playfully. "Yup!! I'm bigger'n'better than ever!" he said happily, tail still wagging. "And 'courthe I'm happier - I jutht got all confuthed and thtuff latht time, but I'm not anymore, 'cauthe that wath a long time ago and being upthet over anything that long ith thilly. You got bigger, too, though!!" he added, as though suddenly remembering that other people existed in the world, as well, Vali included.
The torn wings flicked a bit at the gentle touches, red eyes falling almost all the way shut at the feeling. It was certainly an odd touch, especially since the only thing that usually touched his headwings were Damien's claws, and usually on accident. People usually seemed to think that the rules of his headwings were the same rules as butterfly wings, and that touching them would make him unable to fly. But considering he couldn't fly anyways, it wasn't a big problem. The hybrid made a soft, happy noise in his throat and leaned a bit more heavily on Vali, dinosaur talons clawing happily at the pavement beneath his feet.
When the touch was gone, he was out of the trance almost immediately and grinned up at Vali, back to his happy, hyper-excited mode. The metallic tail that wrapped around him made the boy squeak in surprise before he didn't hesitate to cuddle the appendage a bit as well, wiggling and snuggling against the mirror's side. When his father was brought up again, he looked at the older male with a very blank expression overtaking his face before surprising himself by remembering. "Oh! Right, you got'ta go thee my Daddy! Thorry I forgot," he replied, giggling a bit before heading back toward the little door, gesturing for Vali to follow him.
Fifth was waiting, looking a bit impatient, at the door to the school, holding his son's blue pirate hat in his hand. As the two approached, Gabriel gasped at the sight of his hat, gasping suddenly and running forward to grab for it, only for Fifth to raise it out of his reach, a slight frown on the golden man's face. "We had a plan, Gabriel. You can't go forgetting things like that or you might get in trouble later in life. You're lucky I'm nice or I would sell this when we got back, but since I'm so nice, I'll give it back at the end of the week," he explained to his son, getting a pout and watery eyes in return.
Yet, as Fifth was currently in teaching mode, he put the hat on his own head and turned to Vali, charming smile back in place. "Hello there. Considering my son's excitement, you must be Vali, am I right?" he asked, holding out his hand for a handshake, talons pulled back to be kept out of the way. "Nice to meet you. My name's Fifth Avenue, I'll be your skills teacher today." Despite the introduction and serious attitude of his father, however, Gabriel went back to snuggling against Vali's side, happy as a clam.

Vali listened to Gabriel shocked about how close the pride boy would get to him. Didn't he make Gabriel cry before. And sick? Vali bit his lip softly as he listen. "I don't see why anyone would not like you Gabriel. But it must be nice to get to help your father teach others." His tail flicked as he listened about Daminen. So it would seem that the other twin had a darker side. Vali thought back and though he had no real impact on the spawn life he could not help but feel sorry for Daminen. "I see. Well it is good your brother has someone to go too. Who will keep him safe too."
"Yes I guess it would be silly huh? I will try not to upset you this time though." He looked down, "Yes I guess I got bigger and stronger." He thought about making a now there is more mirror for you to see. But for now he kept it to himself.
Vali watched with some amusement the boys reaction to the wing stroking. It seemed to calm the pride spawn down quickly. And hearing the soft happy noise as Gabriel leaned against him made Vali tense up a bit. He kinda liked Gabriel in the trance like state. He seemed so innocent and sweet. Almost like he needed a mirrored knight to protect him.
Hearing the sharp squeak brought Vali out of his thoughts. He shifted to look down at his tail in the embrace and soaking it all up. The tail wriggled and almost nuzzled into Gabriel's hands and arms pushing him closer to Vali's side. "No need to be sorry." As soon as Gabriel moved away Vali grabbed a hold of his tail and forced it to hold his towel and suit to keep it out of trouble. Stupid tail. He followed to the door and was about to move inside when he saw Fifth. He watched the large maned male teasing his young spawn.
It seemed that Fifth was a very friendly father, at least he was to Gabriel. He wondered for a moment if Daminen got the same level of teasing and 'love' but he did not ask. It was not his place to question someone else's acceptance and want. Though seeing someone so happy with their parents made him jealous and slightly envious.
He reached out his smooth cool hand to embrace the large one offered him. "I don't know why he is so excited to see me but yes I am Vali. He looked at the slits in the fingers after the talons had been pulled back. That was kinda cool. "Thank you for teaching me today sir." He was ready to be formal and get down to business until he felt the soft warm body press against him. "Is there a place I can change sir?" He asked before he looked down. "Gabriel will you be changing into your suit as well?"

Gabriel looked about as equally confused as Vali may have been, one of his headwings tipping to the side slightly and making him look rather lopsided. "Yeah... I dun'no why anyone couldn't like me, either," he stated, words dripping with an adorable sense of naivete. He nodded a couple times, trying to be concerned for his brother but unable to honestly convince himself to be. After all of the times that Damien had gotten upset with Gabriel for following him, the pride spawn had learned to just treat that subject of his brother with apathy, even moreso than he treated the other subjects of Damien.
Gabriel's grin only spread at the idea of Vali getting bigger and stronger, which it was already obvious he had. Gabriel considered himself being around the same size that Vali had been when he'd first met the older boy, but at this point, he paled in stature. Unsurprising considering his diet and exercise were both minimal, though even if he did exercise, he would likely only end up hurting himself with the minimal diet he'd been subsisting on for his entire short life.
Fifth raised an eyebrow at the idea that Vali didn't know why Gabriel liked him so much and he chuckled softly. "Oh? Well, though I might not know your personality very extensively, I can at least see that you're a living mirror and at least nice to him, two things that he doesn't exactly experience often, and both very good reasons for him to think so highly of you," Fifth explained easily, frowning just a tad as his son cuddled happily against Vali's side, happier than the gryphon was used to seeing him. The 'sirs' only made him chuckle awkwardly, giving Vali a fanged grin.
"No need for such formality - Fifth is enough of one as-is," he stated without any real explanation, holding the door open to let the two kids into the stagnant, cool building, the hallways lit only in the direction that Fifth had headed down. "After you. As for a place to change, I think there should be a locker room down near the pool, and I don't think it has doors. Follow the lit hallways and they should take you down to the pool. I'll catch up with you momentarily," he said easily, sounding almost as though he wasn't going to follow them, though he was full-well planning on it. He just planned to have a cigarette first.
"Thuit?" Gabriel asked finally, once the two of them had traveled part of the way down the hall. Once more, he tipped his head to the side, lower ear and headwing drooping down while the other appendages perked up, expressing his questioning. "Oh!" he said suddenly, all four of his appendages perking up happily. "You mean a thwim thuit! I don't really have one'a thothe, Daddy doethn't have enough money. I can thwim in my underwear, though; they're new, tho they don't even have any holes in them!!" Despite how tragic his story seemed, however, Gabriel was perfectly content with something as simple as having a new pair of underwear - such was a world where you knew nothing better than what you experienced, right?

Vali seemed perfectly fine with having Gabriel cling and nuzzle him. Though inside his heart was slamming in his chest. It was not something he was really used too. He could not understand why someone would want to touch and nuzzle him.
His lips pursed a bit in confusion. He was a living mirror? Vali raised up a hand and looked at his reflective metal skin and then down at Gabriel. So that was the reason Gabriel enjoyed touching him. Then that would mean that he must be half pride. As far as being nice to him. He would have thought most people were nice to Gabriel. After all Damien had done everything to try and keep his brother happy. Vali's heart sank as he thought of the other spawn.
But Fifth brought him out of his thoughts. "Sorry Fifth. We will go change..." he said and placing a hand on Gabriel's back he made their way towards the changing room. "Did you want to try mine on Gabriel? It is a bit small." He said. Why was it that even if someone hated him or was in a less fortunate state he felt obligated to do things to help them out. He moved to kneel down, "Here take off your pants and see if it fits." he held out his black suit with a red stripe down the sides. "We would not want to get your new underwear wet and dirty...mine is old so it should be fine." he said as he moved to stand up again his hand moving to the bottom of his shirt as he started to lift it up.

Gabriel, for his own self-satifying and greedy reasons, couldn't bring himself to let go of the mirror-skinned child. The last time he'd been around the other boy, he'd managed to make it seem as though Vali had made him upset, which wasn't something that he meant to portray in the least. For that matter, he'd been inevitably grateful for the lesson that Vali had taught him about the idea that other people could be important, also. Of course, it also only fed to the fueling fire that kept him so prideful, making it so that helping other people only fed the little demon's hungry ego. Regardless, he was still thankful for it. Now, instead of only thinking of himself if he was stealing things or buying things with small amounts of money, he actually remembered to buy things for other people, and thusby make them happy. Him making people happy, thereby meaning his presence made their lives better. It all made perfect sense to him.
Of course, it wasn't that complicated in his brain. For the small, single-minded child, the whole idea was helping people made him a better person. And that was all that he bothered to think of, and all that he bothered to know. When the other male's hand pressed to his back, he jumped just a bit, surprised at the contact, but was otherwise content to smile placidly, allow his feet to carry him with languid steps to the changing rooms, which had only been back lit. The only lights on in the entire room were those in the showers and the small sliver of light that poke from the crack between two sets of blackout curtains.
Gabriel was honestly a bit surprised when Vali offered him something, no less something that he hadn't even directly asked about. For that matter, he could have sworn that he sounded excited about his new underwear and the fact that he would be able to swim in them. His ears tipped back just slightly, wings drooping at a slightly more extreme angle, the odd light catching the thin slices of colour in a way that splayed them like stained glass across Gabriel's neck and shoulders, faintly dying a section of his shadow on the tile flood behind him.
"MmKaykay, Vali. 'Long ath it'th okay with you," Gabriel replied seriously, being sure to wait for an affirmative comment before actually rising to action. He wriggled out of his clothing with relative ease despite his pants snagging on his large claws more than once. He snagged the swimsuit some time during his shimmying, mixed-up stripping of the rest of his clothing and tugged it on with quite a bit less confusion than before, a moment later shaking off a pant leg that continued to cling to on of his talons.
He shook his head when they were on and he was done dressing, flipping his hair a bit to allow it to resettle more comfortably atop his head. His wings flicked the black and rainbow strands away from them, his ears moving in a similar pattern until he looked like the same ragamuffin as before, now dressed in swim shorts that were just a tad too big for him. At the suddenly half-dressed body of the other, he pouted, but only faintly, in a more sympathetic than selfish way. Tipping his head slightly and letting his expressive head-attachments flip backward gently, he stepped forward and placed one of his green-tipped hands against the dulled metal of his friend's solarplexus. "You're not shiny here..." he mused quietly, glancing up at Vali in perplex. "Why?"

Vali watched as Gabriel's head wings flicked in the mostly dark room. He thought it was rather beautiful how they had caught the light and sent a pattern of color over his warm skin. The tone of voice made him wince inside. Again he was upsetting the pride spawn. How could he make the other happy when he always upset him. He turned his head away from the site and to allow Gabriel time to undress. "Of corse it is alright."
If the younger spawn was so happy about his new underwear Vali didn't want them to get ruined by chlorine. Though he did not know much about the chemicals in a pool. He just did not want to have something Gabriel was so happy about possibly get ruined. Though like the last time he and the other spawn had been together he had messed up again.
He dropped his shirt on one of the small shadow covered benches and moved his hands to the brim of his pants. He heard the soft click of the shorter spawn moving forward and the warmth of the small warm hand spread over his skin. His sharp metal teeth found his lip to keep from giving a gasp. When someone willingly touch him always struck him hard. The gentleness of the touch in a place no one had dared to place a hand brought a shadow of blush to Vali's cheeks.
Vali glanced down into the innocent perplex face and felt a strange pang of protectiveness hit him. His face lowered a bit more as he looked at the hand sprawled out on his stomach. "My clothes sometimes rub my skin dull...But if I rub it a bit harder I will shine again." He said and reached down to grab his towel. Taking the rougher side of it he moved it next to the smaller hand and rubbed his muscular stomach.
As he removed the towel the place he had rubbed was in fact shiny enough to catch a glint of the muted light. "I don't polish my skin daily. I figured since I was going to get into water....I did not need to shower today."

Gabriel was too young and, as a surprise as it may be, still too innocent to gauge the meaning of the reaction that Vali gave him in response to the contact between the two of them. He was too used to his brother's dislike of touch to really be anything but grateful that he wasn't hurt immediately afterward. Once feeling the surprising coolness of the other male's flesh, he smiled faintly. It was certainly a nice contrast to the outside, as well as to the stagnant and only slightly cooler air of the annually abandoned building. Taking a step forward, he pressed his cheek as well as his other hand again Vali's metallic chest, sighing happily. It was like the tile floor just after Fifth cleaned the kitchen at the apartment... Mmm...
His headwings drooped back lackadaisically, happy at the cool feeling as well. One of his ears twitched softly when Vali spoke once again, and Gabriel raised his chin, looking at Vali with half-closed eyes, obviously happy about his recent discovery of his friend's genetic 'abilities' of sorts. The towel was moved into place and he lifted his head from the cool feeling of his friend's stomach and stared at the place that the towel rubbed at.
When the others skin suddenly appeared smoother and shinier than it had been initially, he smiled in an adorably happy manner, horned tail flicking back and forth behind him in a cheery kind of way. "That'th real cool, Vali," he replied in quiet awe, taking the towel between his own green-tipped fingers and rubbing at another area of the other boy's skin, smiling happily at the reflection of himself that smiled back in perfect clarity. For one of the first times since Vali's arrival, the boy's torn headwings stood happily on end, obviously excited about this new information.
"That maketh thenthe," he responded when Vali explained his lack of clean, figuring that the boy would become more shiny when he was in the water itself, which was only a step forward, in his opinion. "Oh! But I should let you change or whatever, huh?" the pride demon questioned, blushing faintly at his forgetfulness, turning around and closing his eyes. It was the only way that his brother would change if he was in the room, though he wasn't sure why. He just figured to himself that all people were like that.

Gabriel's innocent and caring actions stuck again and again at Vali's busted heart. It meant far more than he could say. He felt a bit of guilt that he was thankful the other twin was not here to ruin it. He truly felt like crying because someone was so willing to touch his flesh to flesh. And it felt so very good.
He watched the small little torn headwings. As Gabriel took up the towel and started to rub it against his skin he reached a hand out tentatively to feather his fingers over one of the torn wings. "Thank you Gabriel. I really don't think it is any cooler than any other spawn's skin. we are all different." He was glad to see the perking up of Gabriel's mood. It put the tall metallic spawn more at ease. His tight body relaxed a bit.
At Gaberil's next words he hardly had time to respond before the younger spawn spun around. He lowered his hands back to his pants and slid them off. He bent down to slip off his shoes and shocks. His boxers fitted his hips and backside rather nicely but where just loose enough not to be too much of a problem when wet.
Sense he was kneeling already he reached out and wrapped his arm around the pride spawn, being ever aware of where his blades were, and pulled Gabriel close to him Feeling the warmth of the other's back against his cool strong chest. "Thank you...very much for coming Gabriel. I am glad to see you." Before his tail could latch on to the child as well he allowed his arms to move free of the spawn. "I guess we better not keep Fifth waiting..." he moved to stand up. "If those swim trunks are too loose there is a tie in the inside to pull them a bit tighter."

Gabriel was, admittedly, a little skiddish when he felt the featherweight of his friend's metallic fingertips brushing against his headwings. Not a surprise considering how they'd been treated -whether on purpose or not- every time his brother had come in contact with them. The small attachments immediately flicked away from the touch, taking a moment before realizing that there wasn't any kind of pain to follow the gesture, and they slowly perked back up again, brushing against Vali's fingertips once more.
"Thorry, Vali," Gabriel piped up, surprisingly quiet in comparison to how loud he usually was, red eyes crossed in an attempt to watch the interaction between his rainbow-coloured wings and Vali's metal hand. "They're uthed to my brother acthidentally hurting them 'cauthe hith clawth are too long." He didn't feel like noting that sometimes Damien lost his temper and did it on purpose. It seemed like it would be a mean, unnecessary thing to bring undue attention to, and it didn't help Gabriel pretend that his brother didn't lose his temper, and didn't hurt him too terribly often. In his household, it was a regular enough occurrence to ignore.
From his about-faced position, Gabriel grinned at the comment about all of the spawn's different skin tones. "Uh-huh!! Like mine, too!!" he, of course, didn't fail to point out. "'Cauthe I've got tan thkin like none'a the other thpawn I met, and I've got green freckerth, too, and I don't know anybody with thothe!!" he said happily, tapping his equally green fingertips over the bridge of his nose, where his freckles resided.
That would be the main reason that the sudden contact took him off guard. Both sets of head-ligaments stretched straight up in surprise as Vali's cool arms encircled him. For a reason that he could very well place but chose to ignore, the boy could feel blood rush to his cheeks, ignoring that only for the sake of snuggling against Vali's cool body happily. He smiled even more brightly at the added compliment, though most would take it only as a comment, and smiled back at the male, tail flicking happily. "Thankieth, Vali~ Maybe I'll come to all of your thkillth clatheth, then you can be glad to thee me every time!!" he said excitedly, giggling and bouncing away from the other as he was released.
"Yeah... you're probably right," the child replied with a nod of the head. He headed off in the same direction as the other as soon as Vali started moving, fiddling with the swim trunks once the information was given. After quite a bit of thrashing around and trying to get things to work, Gabriel found himself with his tail sticking out of one leg of them, the trunks themselves cinched tightly around his waist.
Just as Vali had assumed, Fifth was there waiting for the both of them, his green eyes falling on Gabriel with a slight amount of perplex over his new outfit. It didn't surprise him too much, of course, but it was probably also why it had taken the both of them longer than he'd initially expected. Well, Gabriel had a tendency to do that on his own, between his persistent talking and slow-moving attitude; they didn't quite form a productive person. "Nice of you two to join me," Fifth said conversationally, making it obvious in his tone of voice that he obviously wasn't upset with either of them. "So, Vali, today'll be your first swimming lesson. Now tell me, what experiences with swimming have you had before, if any?"

Vali's heart hurt at the thought of such small delicate wings being harmed. He tilted his head softly to the side, "I would never hurt your wings. And I will try not you hurt you ever." he said as his fingers had gently danced over the head wings.
He gave a nod, "Well there might be more of a reason for me to show up to swimming if you are here learning with me." Vali watched as Fifth looked over his son. He slid a long fingered hand over his hip and the brim of his boy short boxers, "I am sorry for taking so long Fifth. Even if Fifth did not seem upset it was nice right for them to have kept him waiting.
Turning his head to look at the pool Vali could not help but be surprised at the size of it. "I took a couple baths when I was younger...that is about it. Though I know I do not rust nor am I afraid of it. Sorry I do not have more experience. I hope this does not cause you more trouble Fift." it was so hard not to say sir after the name but he moved closer to the water and dipped a foot into it. Though it was an indoor pool it was still a bit on the cold side. It seems as though they did not have time to warm it up first.

Considering his brother's constant hurting of the boy's headwings, it wasn't a big surprise that the thin, membranous ligaments twitched at even the slightest featherweight touch, worried about being torn once again. However, it did come as a surprise that he even so much as warmed up to the idea of allowing Vali to pet them, a part of him knowing that if a person -or spawn, whatever- made of metal was going to be good at one thing, it was being gentle. It helped that Vali was one of the only people -for that matter, the only person- who had ever promised that he would even try not to hurt Gabriel. After all, Damien wouldn't hesitate to, and most other people the boy knew didn't really like him enough to care if they hurt him or not...
"MmKay!! Then I'll come every thingle time, I promithe!!" the little pride demon said excitedly, bouncing alongside his friend and grinning as his father appraised him, seeing nothing strange about the fact that he'd borrowed the swimsuit of a boy who was almost two times his size.
"Don't worry about it, I haven't been waiting too terribly long anyhow," Fifth replied casually with a smile. He listened as the preteen replied to his question, eyebrows arching before a soft laugh fell from his face. "No trouble to me, that's for sure, but you might be at a bit of a disadvantage if you don't know much about swimming. Well, best get to learning, shall we?" he asked rhetorically before stepping cautiouslessly into the deep end of the pool, submerging himself completely before coming back up. The giggles that echoed around the room at Fifth's damp appearance spawned, obviously, from Gabriel.
"Eesh," Fifth grumbled unhappily, stretching his wings in the surprisingly chill water. "Makes sense, I guess, with the school being empty and all that..." He was speaking to himself, stirring the water a bit as he steadily tried to heat it as best as he could with his magic, a fire that wasn't usually liquid compatible. Not that he couldn't be in water, just that his magic tended to act like a wet lighter when he tried to use it to heat anything that wasn't dry. After a minute or so, he had managed to heat the water at least to a semi-warm temperature, at least enough to keep them from getting sick.
"Alright, it should be a bit warmer now. Feel free to slip in, just stay along the edge for now; practice treading water, if you can, which is just keeping your head above the water while you stay in one place," Fifth advised him, moving back to the edge of the pool himself. "And to make sure that you're not going to get yourself in trouble or distract Vali too much, Gabby, you get to come over here," he requested after his son, smiling softly when the boy stuck his tongue out at him. After giving Vali one last hug for the moment, he ran over to Fifth and was promptly hefted onto the man's shoulders, at which point they once again waded into the deeper end of the pool.
