It was another too-hot day in the mountain range that Hunny and her family called her home. Down in the basin where she was currently trying to cool off wasn't much better. Generally, heat rose, but it would seem that the mountain ranges on all sides had trapped the hot air where it was. It didn't help that Hunny, with her dark coat, held onto heat like none other. The shade she was laying in didn't do much to help either. Perhaps if she wanted to mosey over to the small pool of water a few feet from her that would also help. However, as she tried to lift her too-heavy limbs they protested with all their might. Therefore, all she could really do was watch as some foolish bees were out lazily putzing in the summer sun.
A small breeze, carrying the smallest hint of cool air wafted just over her, never touching, just teasing with it's icy winds. She groaned forlornly as it passed over her. Her head flopped back down as she tried to catch some of the chill on her overheated cheeks. God, it was too hot to do anything besides laze around. Even the bees could not excite her, and the two she caught sight of were being very active. She made a mental note that the mountain breed enjoy the hot weather and shut her eyes again.
