Naw! Its just pointless button mashing to me! Haha but I still always feel if I dont watch the pokeball shaking I have a better change of catching it! xd

instead of pressing a and b i hold on to a and go left and right and yell the word gotcha! {as said on cheatpleanet increases your catch rate by 10 percent} and it ALWAYS works :3

I hold down A once I press Use as well as holding the down button to "keep them down", I guess. There's really no logical explanation it's just something I've done since Blue when I was 7.

I stop talking to the screen as I think the mic tell hears me say gotcha and says haha not this time.....O.O also I push A over and over...

in between the ball's twitch,
I hit: left - right - left,
then: right - left - right,
and finally: left - right - left!
this works about 90% of the time including a status condition
(to me anyway)

It´s fun though... we all did it when we were young... and posibly naïve... fun part of it... we all had the same reflex... without there being a pokémon community around to tell us to do it

I used to do everything ever XD
Now all I ever do is throw a quick ball or dusk ball, if it's a normal wild one. If it's a legendary I always believe that if I look away it will do better for some odd reason XD

(to me anyway) I do that and when it clicks I press up. It makes me sad how in Ruby and Sapphire there was no click. crying

mine is more like L + R hold, B hold, Down hold, left + right between twitches (while holding everything else down).
I know it doesn't work but I do it anyway (if it did, I'd have caught Ho-Oh 30 ultra-balls ago), but i still do it.
