Different Stars fall to Earth in different amounts. Some are really common, others fall rarely, if ever. If a sort of Star is listed as unavailable right now, please, do not ask for one. They are unavailable for a good reason. Depending on the commonality of your Star, prices are different. But first, you should be introduced to the different sorts of Stars.
StarbornCommonality: Common
The Starborn are not as beautiful as their brothers and sisters, but they are friendly, graceful and boast a brilliant personality. The Starborn are the most basic of all, and look like ordinary horses in shape.
Starborn Stages and GendersArcturusCommonality: Common
The Arcturai are elegant and beautiful. They are wise beyond their years and are blessed with a single horn, which pierces the very heavens. This horn is their one protection. It carries great magic and is also a deadly spear. In some rare cases, an Arcturus will have antlers, but these are exceedingly rare and said by some to be a separate breed.
Arcturai Stages and GendersLyraCommonality: Uncommon
The Lyra are peaceful and kind. They are as much at home in the skies as the land. Some Lyra have wingspans more than three times their own size! Beautiful and wise they are seen nesting in the trees and make excellent scouts.
Lyra Stages and GendersAlgiediCommonality: Uncommon (Adults only)
The Algiedi are tricky Stars that aren't as sweet and kind as most of the other breeds. Both sexes have cloven hooves, long beards, and curling horns. Despite their grumpy and stubborn disposition, they often make the very truest friends and the most bitter enemies. There's also a bizarre sense of humor that often crops up that drives them to play tricks on the unwary, just for fun. They share a common ancestor with the Arcturai, so the relationship between the two can be complicated.
SolaraCommonality: Rare
The Solara are best to be avoided. They have a draconic nature: deadly, frightening and unforgiving. They have draconic wings, frills, spines, and a serpentine tail. They are rarely known to crossbreed or befriend others. Solara can make good friends and are often extremely intelligent. They can make for possessive mates and friends, but they vary as much as any Star.
Solara Stages and GendersArionCommonality: Rare
Arion are simple, impish and clever. They have small butterfly-like bodies and love to frolic and play. Despite their petite bodies, they can quickly change from the size of a beetle to that of a horse in a blink of an eye. The other distinguishing characteristic is that all Arion have insect wings of some sort.
Arion Stages and GendersMonarch Butterfly Arion Stages and GendersNovaCommonality: Rare
Nova are lonely creatures. Burdened with fins and gills, they cannot survive for more than an hour on land, though they can breed with other species. They do give birth on land or shallow reefs. They are beautiful and generous by nature.
Nova Stages and GendersAlternate Nova Stages and GendersAlcorCommonality: Super-rare
The Alcor are not a cohesive breed like the other breeds of Stars. An Alcor may physically be of any other breed or combination of breeds of Stars. Their origins are as yet unknown, but what connects the Alcor together is that the Alcor are all shapeshifters. Being an Alcor is genetic, just as being a Nova, Arcturus, Solara, Arion, Lyra, Algiedi or Starborn is genetic, and with an equal probability of inheriting Alcor status. Most Alcor wear an animal pelt, the pelt of the animal they turn into. It is not uncommon for Alcor to be tricksters or have an abnormally close relationship to nature, but, like any other Star, Alcors may have any temperament. There are quite a few sub-classes of Alcor, such as werewolves and selkies. Not all Alcor have a full pelt, though some types of animal traits, either alone, or in conjunction with their pelt.
*Alcors are a very special breed of unknown commonality. Since most pelts are created individually, expect high prices for Alcor. We will probably have a special thread at some point for Alcor, who are now available through customs, albeit in limited amounts.
