Marion paced through the towering, lush trees of the Deep Forest. The ground was a lovely orange colour as the sun was just hovering above the horizon, ready to retire for the day. He was to meet Averyl this evening, and so far, she hadn't shown up. That's what he gets for arriving before the sunset when Averyl clearly stated to arrive during sunset.

Because he was anxious, and secretly wishing that Averyl would come earlier so he could spend more time with her. The cuts he got from her last time were finished the scabbing stage and already becoming scars or healing completely if they weren't too deep. In other words, he needed to see her now. It had been too long.

He made pictures in the dirt: flowers, knives, Averyl's face... You know, those kinds of things. He would always look through the trees to see if Averyl was approaching or not. He'd also swivel his ears ever few seconds to try and detect Averyl's arrival.

Averyl took out her blade as she walked briskly toward her meeting place with Marion. She examined it, inhaling the rich metallic smell of blood and steel. His blood had dried long ago onto the blade, becoming a permanent part, it seemed. She grinned at the thought of a part of Marion being a part something of hers. It seemed she would know that smell, the smell of his blood, forever.

Perhaps she could finally get over her denial, and admit it clearly how she feels about the man she's stabbed numerous times, threatened to kill, and told she hated. Truthfully, she had fallen for him. In all the time they'd know each other, he never once gave up trying, and his effort was not in vain. She had lied to him, and to herself, about her true feelings for far too long, and was going to make this perfect.

She scented him in the trees up ahead, and stepped through them, her inner thoughts lighting up when she saw him standing there, waiting. "******** Marion, how long have you been ******** waiting?" she said through her teeth, smirking at him playfully before putting her knife back in her sleeves.

Just when Marion had finished drawing hearts around Averyl's face his rotating ears heard something. Brisk footsteps were quickly approaching and the smell of blood wafted into his nostrils. It was Averyl. He quickly tried to erase the drawing of Averyl in the dirt as he looked up every few seconds to try and spot her. In seconds a pink figure was seen through the dense forest. His heart skipped a beat as his hooves moved even more frantically to erase the corny picture.

After it looked like a hurricane had plagued the dirt, Aves was very close. It was her alright, blood covered white sleeves and a knife stained with the same substance. Though she was lithe and toned she had a big presence, or maybe it was just Marion and his infatuation with this doe. No, it was past that. There was a certain point in a relationship where it wasn't only lust and the "romance" that kept it going. It was at the point where you realize that you really do care about the one that you had been seeing.

"I wasn't waiting for too long." He lied. Then with a sigh he continued, "Well, maybe since the sun was just a little below the tall branches of the trees..." Marion wanted to bite his tongue hard. What he just said totally meant he waited forever. He decided to cover it up by being his usual bubbly self, "But it's very nice to see you Avesy!" He pranced up to her and gave her his usual greeting of a nose-bump.

Averyl accepted the nosebump without any resistance for once, and returned the greeting, smiling. "I knew you were a ******** freak, but I didn't think you'd wait for hours for me. Didn't you know sunset is when the sun is actually ******** around the ground?"

She didn't just love him for his charm, though the way he calmed her down when no one else could did have a large part of why she liked him. No, she found the simple hart to be handsome, his scars telling her a story of what an awful family is really like, and his mohawk blending right in with her sense of style.

She nuzzled him quickly. "Anyway, it's great to see you too, Mari." She said, her voice not that angry sounding for once.

Something was different, after a nose-bump shuffling of hooves were usually heard as Averyl would usually be backing up or shrinking back. The nose-bump was not followed by a stab? This was strange indeed. Well maybe a nose-bump wasn't stab worthy. "I-I know that, but I was just in the area at the moment, I wasn't waiting! I was drawin-- erm. I was doing stuff. Certainly not waiting. And even if I was waiting, which I was not what would you think of it?" He shouldn't be this nervous and stutter-y. But usually Aves would be yelling, and what was this smile on her face? he gave Averyl a once-over again. Physically, this was Averyl, but she hadn't acted like this before. Ever! Where was the yelling? The fierce, angry eyes? The wielding of the knife, ready to use? This was different than the usual Averyl, but somehow, Marion kind of liked it. Was it better to ask her?

"Um, Aves, is everything okay?" He looked her straight in the eye, a worried expression planted on his face. "Not that you look disheveled or sick or anything, but is everything okay?" He didn't know how to say it, he never had to describe the way she was acting now. What was one supposed to say? What's with the smile, Aves? What's with the pleasant tone, Aves? Why do you actually seem happy, Aves? He decided for her to say something first. If he kept this babbling going he'd look like a total idiot, if he didn't look like one right now.

Averyl snorted at her mate. "Sure you were just doing stuff, you freak." she said. "If you were waiting, I'd think that that would be just like you, though," she mumbled before she blushed when Marion asked if she was feeling all right.

How stupid of her to think she could just relax and act normal! Marion was too used to her anger and viciousness, and it wasn't like that part of her was gone, or was ever going to go away. It was as deep a part of her as the blood stains that marked her bright pink fur at this point.

She went and headbutted Marion, hard. "Of course I'm ******** fine you ******** jerk!" Aves growled. "Do I have to stab you to ******** prove it!" she said. "I mean it wasn't like I was trying to be nice sometimes I just feel like not being so ******** angry and I mean you were waiting a while and I kinda li--" she cut herself off before she said anything more, blushing angrily.
"And anyway, I kinda missed you." Averyl said bluntly, shyly nosing Marion's cheek.

Marion blushed, and unlike Averyl, when he blushed it actually showed a little bit, even through the fur. "Do I do that often?"

Marion flinched when she started growling at him. It actually gave him a bit of whiplash. He suddenly felt a little bit guilty. Oh no! I caused her to get angry again when all she wanted to do was be nice! That was so stupid of me I knew I shouldn't have asked! I am a jerk aren't I? The one time she isn't angry I piss her off and ruin it all. He looked down and shuffled his hooves through the already scratched up forest ground.

When Averyl said that she had missed him and nosed his cheek he had to refrain from whipping his head back up in surprise. Was it difficult for Averyl to admit this? He just stood there for a bit, enjoying Averyl's warm nose on his face. Is it weird if I just stood here? Should I say something? Marion was determined not make her get angry again. He could not take another quick mood change, "Th-that's very nice of you Averyl, I missed you tons, too." He nuzzled her back gently. Please don't yell at me again... he pleaded to himself as he inhaled her scent in. As he exhaled he realized how slender and delicate Aves felt, he was almost afraid to do anything else besides nuzzle her in fear that she would break. But he didn't admit that of course, because as delicate and fine she felt he knew that she could probably do some serious damage. Not that he minded anyways. He wasn't going to admit that either.

Averyl sighed and put her head on his shoulder. "Yeah, you weirdo. You have a funny habit of waiting for me." She said, and smiled slightly. She liked just being with him. The only person she'd ever known who could calm her down like this, and... it felt pretty amazing, not being so angry.

"It... It feels good, being here." she admitted, breathing on Marion, enjoying the feel of being on him. Oh god what the ******** is wrong with me why am I telling him this ******** I know I was gonna try and be better but ******** this is so embarrassing and not like the way I am at all, she thought, and felt the heat rising to her cheeks. I said I was gonna be better so I'll do it because I'm Averyl ******** Largo and I can do whatever the ******** I want and if this is what I want...

"And... I really like being with you, Marion," she murmured, closing her eyes and concentrating on his scent.

Marion couldn't help but to smile as she put her head on his shoulder. He turned his head and gently rested it on her neck. "Well waiting for you was worth it, because now here you are!" And it was worth it. He couldn't remember the last time she had rested her head on his shoulder.

His smile widened when she said that it felt good being there. He would usually tease her to death if she said this, but he knew that if he wanted her to do this more often he should just stay silent. There was a few moments of silence and Marion was nervous to break it, but then Aves did it for him.

"I like being with you more~" He then regretted saying that, "Not that I deny how much you like being with me, not that I'm a narcissist or anything--" he took a deep breath in, "I'll shut the Hell up now."
PostPosted: Wed Jul 21, 2010 7:43 pm

Averyl nuzzled into his shoulder. "You really think I was worth waiting for?" she asked gently. She knew she was great, but it always nagged at the back of her mind that perhaps she really wasn't all that likable. After all, people jumped her whenever she went out and got angry. So what if she cussed a few fawns out! What the ******** were those fawns doing around her anyway? She never asked for it. They didn't like her, and it was obvious. Maybe if she was less angry they would like her more, but Guardians, everyone and their mother seemed to piss her off to no end.

She just rested there on Marion for a few more moments, listening to him get flustered and try to apologize for something silly he said, and she smiled. "You don't have to shut the ******** up, weirdo. You didn't do nothing wrong."

I have to do it soon otherwise I'll never ******** do it -- wait am I thinking about wimping out? What the ******** Averyl ******** Largo doesn't ******** wimp out ever EVER and she'd rather die before she wimped the ******** out like those ******** ******** she hates. Yeah, I'll tell him... soon. I'm gonna enjoy this for a bit more first...

The nuzzle felt good, "I would've been worth waiting for a whole day." But in reality, he had been waiting for the whole day. Actually, he had been waiting for much longer. The day that he started to fall for the smirk that played on her lips the first time she dug her knife past his skin, he had started waiting. She was never very vocal about her feelings. Sometimes he doubted them a bit, but every time he felt dubious she'd give him a nose-bump or a nuzzle. Eventually the signs of affections turned to stabs, and to even his own surprise he seemed to like them. The first thought that came to his head was that the scars that she'd give him out-numbering the scars his terrible family gave him.

He blushed again. This is stupid, Aves wants a tough buck, not a sissy blushing one! but as most would know, the more you try not to blush the redder you got. "O-o-oh. Well, I have nothing to say now." This moment was too perfect, he didn't want to act like a bumbling idiot and make it any less than it was at the time.

Averyl smiled a little more. "A whole day, huh..." she murmured. She wondered how long she would wait for him, if she needed to. She wasn't very patient... but would she be patient for him? Would she wait all day, all month, all year? Would she wait for him the same way she made him wait for her?

She pulled away from him so she could look him in the face, into his green eyes, noting that his cheeks were tinged with red. "That's good, since I kinda have s**t I wanna say now." Oh god here you go Aves, you're gonna tell this guy how you feel and you're not gonna ******** let anything stop you or you'll ******** stab it okay so go go go. She took a deep breath. "Marion... I li-- no, no that's not the right ******** word, that'd be lying again -- I love you," she began, kind of rambling, rushed, trying to get the words out before she decided not to. "You're really ******** weird but for some reason it's adorable and you make me feel great and yeah I ******** said it. I love you."

"Yep, maybe even longer than that." If he'd have known it would turn out like this, he would have been here before the sun was even awake.

He felt a pang of surprise as she pulled away from him. Did he say something wrong? Did he ruin it? She wants to say something? Is she freaked out that I said I would wait that long for her? Does she think I'm obsessed? What does she mean by lying agai-- oh. Wow. He had a look of shock on his face, but he quickly wiped it off his face before he made her any more flustered. Was it difficult for her to say that? Even if it was just him here to listen?

"Averyl," he smiled, finally taking in the fact that she had admitted it. Even if she just felt it now, she admitted it and she felt that way, "I love you too, and I think you already know that, but I'm going to say it anyways." He was planning to just give her a surprise nose-bump, but it didn't feel right to do so. It was too late, he had already given the nose-bump. But instead, he stayed there. He could finally feel their relationship was safe now that they had both admitted the feelings were mutual.

Relief was not a strong enough word to describe just how relieved Averyl felt, finally having let those three little words slip through her lips. She nuzzled Marion again. "I think I'd probably wait for you too, you freak." She paused a moment. "No, my freak."

She had known he loved her forever, which had initially been part if the reason she hated him. How could he treat her like she was normal, when no one else could? She felt almost normal when she was with him. Sane, almost. The angry bubble that seemed to always be lurking under her consciousness seemed far away when Marion was near, as though nothing could pop it.

"And you can be mine for always, if you want." she said, kissing him.

Marion chuckled and closed his eyes. He didn't know that this side of Averyl even existed. He thought her only way of showing affection was with stabs. Not with words or much else. But now that he was so close to her, his nose touching hers, her not pulling away from him, he felt that maybe she could show affection in a gentler way.

"Yours for always? Let me think --" his eyes widened. I thought I was the only one that did the kissing. It took Marion a while before he could really realize what was happening. His surprise turned to happiness. This is really happening isn't it? For once I'm not the one looking like an infatuated young yearling and his first crush who didn't really care about him. Marion let himself get lost in the moment, these moments don't happen a lot with Averyl anyways. Maybe they will start happening more often? Marion could only hope so.
