Ghiradelli started off as a part of the zoo's carousel attraction. But it wasn't long before this little guy accessed a little magic and escaped from his routine life. Unlike many of his other friends, he chose to stay at the zoo and continue his adventurous life. During the day he hid from the eyes of people and the teeth of the wild lions. But at night, Ghiradelli was a free man; wandering the zoo as he pleased. As Ghiradelli was growing up in this new life, everyone warned him of the danger he possessed and to be careful, but he never quite understood what they meant. Wandering around the zoo after hours searching for food, he spotted the picnic area. After having unfortunate luck finding anything, he decided to take a break and find a little shade. It was soon obvious Little Ghiradelli was still getting used to his extremely sharp nails. Standing beneath the large oak tree, he placed a paw upon its trunk. Slowly gripping his nails into the bark, he slide his paw down the tree trunk. As his paw neared the bottom, he released it and looked at what he had just done to the tree. Ghiradelli plopped his butt on the ground, confused at how he had managed to create such a mark. He looked all around his paw and then looked around to see if anyone had an explanation.

 Almond stared at the young lion that had a bewildered look on his face. "What are you waiting for?"
She flicked her tail at nothing as she rested on the branches of the oak tree. Quite a while ago she came from the children's carousel near the petting zoo and became the stray cat that lived at the zoo. Almond would often observe the small lion roaming the grounds as she roamed the trees and rooftops. In fact she would often watch him destroy things with his powerful claws as he sharpened them against trees and other objects he would find.
Suddenly Almond jumped down from the branches and stood in front of the lion. She slowly sat as she observed the brown cat and began to groom herself when she paused between sentences. "My name is Almond... and again... what are you waiting for as you stare at nothing? In fact... where did you come from and why are you slowly destroying this zoo?"

 Isaac looked over at the two that were near a tree as he sat down on the carousel, his tail wagging to and fro. He was completely bored, having been alone for only five minutes and wanted to hang out with some others, anyone really. Those two seemed like they were interesting to be around, way more interesting than his "big bro" or his "little red". He'd have to say that they looked even better than little red's mate, grumpykins.
The fox quickly got up and stretched before bounding over to the other lion and tiger. The fox wasn't one to walk or move at a slow place when it came to meeting new faces, or old for that matter. He'd rather get to where everyone was at as fast as possible. So he wouldn't miss out on anything cool or interesting. And he found most of everything pretty interesting.
"Hey guys!" He exclaimed, as he reached the two natural looking caros. He didn't notice the mark on the tree. No, he was to busy focusing on the other livelier beings beside it.

Ghiradelli looked over at Almond with big eyes; pouting, "I...I.. I don't understand why I tear everything I touch. The other lions don't have such sharp nails. Why am I so destructive?" He looked over at the other brightly colored fox. "He..Hello, my name is Ghiradelli."

"Well, Ghiradelli, it's because you have sharp claws." Almond said succinctly. "Why you received those claws, well that's because you had them when you were on the carousel as well."
Finally Almond turned to look towards the white patchwork fox. "My name is Almond. It is a pleasure to meet you... sir." Looking back towards Ghiradelli she chided the lion. "You really mustn't fret over such a thing. I will take you to my favorite rock where you can trim your nails. It is very hard to break. I often sharpen, or in your case, blunt, my claws on that particular stone."
Almond once more began to groom herself. "And again... where did you come from small lion? As well as you fox. Myself, I came from the carousel at the petting zoo some distance from here."

A smile spread across little Ghiradelli's face, "I can't wait! They've grown so much longer since I've gotten off the carousel; I feel like I'm walking on nails. *wiggles his butt with anticipation*
"Oh! and I actually came from this zoo's carousel... *looks ashamed with himself for not having left* You've traveled far, though, Almond! What's brought you to this zoo?"
