Spirit's form was a whip-like blurr, small and darting, tiny paws hitting the pavement with lightning speed as he slipped across an open stretch of sidewalk. Clearing the road with the sound of screeching cars and angry honking horns behind him. Loud beasts the humans made, with there wheels and honking and nasty smells..Annoying things.. He had no reason to pay them any heed though, not today! Nope, for today he was on a bit of a mission, a mission fit for someone of his small stature..
It was shop day..market day, the meat came in on the big beasts and the men moved it all into the big building, cold and dripping it all came in. Oh and the smell! Hot dogs, and shanks, links and patties, a perfect day to play beggar. Though the men were usually unsympathetic, which didn't matter, beggar or thief, he could play either role. He wished the others were here on time like they should have been, it was hard going it alone for such a big job.

The smell of the meat also reached a great dane. He following his blue nose, as he moved though the streets and sidewalks. Many of the humans quickly move out of the way of the giant dog. Most likely for fear of being knock over. If they did look closely at him, they would have been able to tell from for his rolled out tongue and the slight wag of his tail that he followed the breed's trait of being a gentle giant.
Soon he reached the source of the smells. Hoyt stood to the side for a while as he watched the humans take the meat from the trucks to the building. Finally he moved closer to the people and food. He sat down where he knew the humans would spot him, yet far enough away to hopefully not scare anyone. He was playing beggar, hoping that one of them will give some food.
Hoyt never notice a much smaller dog was also there for some the meat.

Spirits tongue lolled out of his mouth as he sat there panting for a moment, tiny shivering nose tipped into the scent as he padded onto the scene, inhaling the multiple delicious scents. "Ahmnn..if only there we're less two leggers and more meat about.." He mused softly to himself, darting blue eyes going wide as he spotted an-an absolutely huge black dog looming off to the side, seemingly there for the same reason.
Well maybe looming was a bit harsh, really the big one was just sitting there, looking rather dopey and happy. But when one so large was compared to one as small as he..Sitting and looming became the same thing. "E-ey you! Big paws, you their pet?!" Spirit yipped noisily keeping his small bit of distance from the other. The two legs had employed others in the past..big mean guard dogs those were, and while this one didn't look so mean, he sure was big. Could probably eat a whole truck of meat all on his own even!

Hoyt was just watching the humans as they moved the meat for one place to another. They didn't seem to pay any attention to him. He was starting to think that he should just go, when he heard something. First his ears twisted to the sound, before he turned his heard. If he didn't know to look down, he might have thought he was just hearing things. His purple eyes landed on a small white Italian Greyhound.
"Big paws?" he repeated. That was the first time he was called that. It took Hoyt a moment to realize that the smaller dog had asked him a question. "Pet, no, I'm not. I just here hoping to get some food," he answered.

"Ah..Ooh..hoping? With size like that I don't see why you don't just take it." Spirit whistled softly, a slight sigh of relief escaping his tiny maw, glad to hear the other..while not necessarily on his side, at least wasn't on the two legs side either. "Not that I couldn't just go take it if I wanted to! It's just, that ah, well when one is so small one is accustomed to much smaller methods of fetching food" Spirit grinned, puffing out his tiny chest in an attempt at making himself look larger. Who was he kidding, he was waiting for a distraction, or maybe with luck something would fall off the truck..some poor two leg would slip even and the goods would be there for the taking.
"Besides, we could sit here and beg until those treats got up and walked off, the two legs here they don't like to share." He nodded swiftly giving the workers a glare. "Will sooner toss you a rock as they will a bone. Mean things.."

Hoyt eyes turn to the small dog back to the meat, as the little one talked. The humans did have a lot of meat, more then what they need, but just taking would be wrong. Isn't it? The last meal he had, was taken out of a dumpster, and even then he only gotten to eat a few big mouth fulls before the owner chased him away. Beside the food he was looking at now, would be so much better then the stuff that was thrown away.
His attention fulling turned back to Spirit to see that he was trying to make himself bigger, which doesn't quite work when its next to him. His head went down at the thought of not getting any food. "But isn't taking the meat wrong? There is a chance that they might give us some," he replied.
