Since the boys were grown and they weren't hurrying on their way to having more cubs, Enzi and Kafara had a lot of time to themselves now. It was nice, it being just them. They were a lot less shy and a lot less awkward now, at least with each other. And it wasn't like they were old, they didn't even have to act as mature and being the parents of adults would suggest they should or might be.. at least not all of the time.
After going for a walk down the waterhole, Kafara had daringly splashed her way into the water- stopping where about half her legs were covered in water.
"Come on, blue," she called to Enzi, splashing some water towards him. Enzi felt much the same as Kafara about being immature now that they didn't have to set quite the same example and had more time to themselves. That didn't mean he didn't like to hold it against her.
"Now, Kafara!" he called back, staying out of the water but near the edge, "What would the boys say if they saw you acting like that?" He shook his head, feigning disappointment. He knew well enough he would probably end up in the water but he wasn't a huge fan of the water, not all the time anyway. She was going to have to fight to get him in, that was half the fun anyway.

Demeter had been sneaking off on her own, not that she really needed to hide anything; but she enjoyed the idea that she was doing something that no one else knew about. Demeter had been meeting a male, he was her secret, bright, traveled, and assertive, everything that Demeter was seeking in a companion.
The brown lioness was making her way around the watering hole, a silly grin spread across her face and her head in the clouds.
She heard Kafara's familiar voice before recognizing that she was close to her sister-in-law and brother.
"They'd say stop being a sissy, Enzi and get in the water!" Demeter answered him, even though she wasn't apart of the conversation...Demeter rarely needed an invite.

Kafara was sticking her tongue out at Enzi when Demeter's voice reached her and she immediately perked up and a grin spread across her face. She had back-up now and poor Enzi was outnumbered.
"Yeah, Enzi," she said, more than happy to include Demeter whether or not she was given the choice on it, "Get in the water!" She splashed out towards him again, though it didn't look like she was putting the effort into actually hitting him. She didn't need to hit him, just splashing towards him was sufficient.
Enzi was about ready to make a face back at Kafara when he heard Demeters voice-- and instead she became the target of a playful scowl. He was used to her just barging in, but it was a game so it didn't really matter.
"Mind you own business, Demeter! I'm not being a sissy!" he called back, but immediately was sure it wasn't really looking that way- especially when Kafara's splash made him step back.

'"You are my business, Enzi," she laughed as he took a step back, he really wasn't supporting his case of non-sissy-dom. She did her best to act as if she was going to keep walking and then bee lined into the water, galloping childishly kicking up the cool water.
"Do you think he'll melt if he gets wet?" She spoke to Kafara and then stuck her tongue out at Enzi.

"Am not," he grumbled, glowering at his sister as she physically joined the game by splashing her way into the shallow water with his mate. Now he was acting even more immature than Kafara had been before, the boys would surely have gotten a good laugh of it now. But being immature was fun with them, too, it was a fun part of all games.. except when you were ganged up on.
"I will not melt," he said indignantly, "But you won't get me in the water that easily!"
"I don't know," she murmured to Demeter after Enzi said he wouldn't melt and issued his challenge to the pair of them, "Only one way to find out, I suppose." Kafara glanced over to Demeter and then looked to Enzi, smiling. This would be easier now that she had help from his sister, who'd have no problem helping her to drag the blue boy into the water to play with them.

Demeter wasn't exactly all plan and no action but it took her a moment to think of what to do next... if both females splashed relentlessly he'd be soaked and he would eventually walk himself in..or they could drag him in. The first option didn't seem as appealing, not as satisfactory.
Flashing a smile and shrugging as much as a lion can. She charged forward in the shallow water hoping that he would retreat, something that would further prove he was a sissy.
"C'mon, the water's fine!"

Enzi looked surprised when suddenly Demeter was charging at him, indeed stumbling back a couple steps before he realized what he was doing-- side-stepping instead so he couldn't be run right into.
"Nice try, Demeter! But it's not going to be that easy!"
"No?"
While Demeter charged at Enzi, Kafara took her chance to flee the water and sneak up behind him, hoping to catch him while he didn't have all four feet firmly on the ground. Lifting herself up, she put her two front paws on his back end and shoved, aiming to put him right back in front of Demeter, only closer to the water, at the very least.

The brown lion laughed happily, this was turning into even more of a wonderful day she'd spent time with her secret friend and now was being immature (something Demeter's know best) and roughhousing with her family. The day couldn't go better..unless of course Enzi actually made it into the water.
Demeter was delighted at both Kafara and Enzi's actions, his side stepping further confirmed her point. Trying to mimic Enzi's side step she stepped to the side leaving one of her paws out, the intention was that he'd lose his balance and fall into the shallow water.
"Fantastic move, Kafara!"

"ARRRGH!"
Enzi was caught off guard by Kafara and pushed right over Demeter's stuck out leg. He somehow missed it with his first two legs but lost track of his hind legs and ended up doing a near somersault into the shallow water, landing on his chest and just managing to lift his head so he didn't go nose-first. And then he just lay there like that, stunned.
Kafara stood back where she had appeared behind Enzi, watching him go. She bit her lip watching him fall, not really intending to hurt him-- but he didn't seem physically hurt, though maybe they had bruised his ego, managing it with so little verbal convincing.
"Aww," she said, giggling at the odd way Enzi was laying almost-face-first in the water, "We got him in, Dem."

"Hooray!" Demeter cheered, "We're the victors." The lioness resisted the urge to waggle her rump and say 'neenurneenur' in true immature fashion.
Demeter would've never intentionally hurt Enzi, he was after all her only brother and it was best to keep him around for at least the novelty of saying she had one male sibling. She winced looking at the way he landed and was slightly relieved that his head was above the water.
A queer expression crossed her face and she waded in to see that he was alright, not too banged up. "You alright?" She lowered her head and butted his shoulder.

Enzi stayed still until Demeter had come in to make sure he was OK, then he righted himself very slowly, carefully and with great dramatic movements. He was wet now from his chin to just about his tail, but water wasn't the only thing in the waterhole. Attempting to move quickly but also effectively, he scooped up some mud from the bottom of the waterhole and flung it at Demeter, not waiting to see what happened before getting more and flinging it out to where Kafara stood.
"Indeed!" Kafara beamed at Demeter and followed her close, stopping by the water's edge and watching as she made sure that Enzi was OK.. and as Enzi got up to his feet, seeming perfectly fine.. until he started throwing mud.
"Oh no!" she shrieked, her effort to dodge taking her into the water with Enzi and Demeter-- and putting her right behind the other lioness.

The concern on Demeter's face faded instantly as he suddenly moved and the had the nerve to fling mud at her! "Hey that's not very nice! Didn't your mama teach you any better?"
Mud slid down her pelt; she scrapped her paw along the mud on her chest and swept it into the water.
Demeter looked behind herself to Kafara, "Do you think it's worth retaliating..?"
She started to scoop mud with her paws, "I think this will just end badly for you Enzi."

Enzi laughed as Demeter was hit with the mud and didn't seem to react immediately. Kafara had dodged, hiding behind Demeter. He knew this wasn't going to end very well, and he was smart enough to back up a couple steps. If Demeter was going to attack, she wasn't getting an easy shot.
"Nah nah nah nah!" he said, sticking out his tongue.
Kafara was laughing as she cowered behind Demeter, watching as the brown lioness got some mud ready to retaliate. As he started taunting them, she stood up taller.
"Get him, Demeter! Don't let him get away with that!"

"Neenur neeenur!" She shook her whole body laughing.
With Kafara's enthusiasm and Enzi's mocking Demeter puffed out her chest. Sliding her front leg to the side she swung the mud with a wave of water haphazardly in Enzi's direction. Trying to act quickly she grabbed another pawful of mud and splashed again launching mud at him.
Successfully drenching herself and more than likely Kafara she panted over exaggerate being out of breath.

Yelping, Enzi made an effort to duck and so dodge the mud that was flying at him. All he managed to do was get himself even more wet and get the mud in his long mane instead of the short fur anywhere else on him. This wasn't going to be easy to clean up-- especially since he couldn't really reach his own mane.
"Hey!" he huffed, pushing himself back up to his feet. He glared for a second as Demeter panted, then daringly splashed forward, clearly no longer content with splashing and mud-throwing.
"Eeek!"
Kafara was ducked down again, her face turned away, laughing madly as Demeter splashed the both of them in an effort to get back at Enzi. She wasn't done laughing when quiet fell between the siblings, though it was slowing down. She peeked back up and past Demeter just in time to see Enzi running toward them.
"Oh no!"
