I've noticed that most plastic items numbered 1 through 3 are put into the recycle bin. I've always wondered about the other plastic items that have been numbered from four to eight. Will the recycle truck take them anyway ?
Also, will they take various plastics like shrink wrap or packaging ?

It all depends on your local recycling centers. All the numbered types are recyclable but not all places accept all of them. You can search here: http://1800recycling.com/find/
