If this was not a malfunction of the Gaia clean-up, then it is a nuisance that has been taken care of. If not, and this was done by one or more of our mods, then I suggest an instant demotion from the CC for this gross betrayal of trust.

I dunno about that, but I prefer a public guild myself. Not that it's a big enough issue to complain about.

There was no discussion on this, and it was done without the knowledge or consent of the guild. In doing this you opened up the guild to all manner of trolls, and it is shere luck that we weren't flooded, broke the guidelines in the constitution for changing the guild. I think it would be best if you stood down and one of the vice-captains took up the top job.

i dont have a problem with a public guild.. it does need more activity... we just will have to be vigilant to make sure said activity is the proper kind... IE instant diciplinary actions agianst trolls. and by trolls i do not mean trotskyists... or new kids in dissagreement with grach/lenin...

I'm iffy about setting the guild to public. I mean, yes, we'll get a s**t load more activity (not like I'm a big help with that cause I'm a super lurker), but we'll have people posting willy-nilly and a great deal of them will be trolls.

I'd only agree with opening it if the mods promise to keep a watchful eye on the guild everyday. gonk

I don't care if it's public and if the GUILD is public, I actually think the mod forum should probably stay locked.

BUT as a guild owner/moderator of old, I warn you that just hitting the public button does NOT guarantee any more activity than what you used to get. You're going to have to do something to bring attention to the guild.

In the past when this question came up I was categorically against the idea of making the guild public. We had a high profile, especially on the politics forums and the resulting spam and trolling would have been too much to deal with. I think at the current venture though a trial run of making the guild public wouldn't be a bad idea. Since we no longer have such a high profile and activity level, beyond Gracchvs completely owning children in ED-P wink

Okay, I don't particularly like the idea of making the guild public, but since I don't hate it I'll say that I'm in favor as long as trolling and spam is immediately dealt with.
