Beluwa and Msikizi had joined the pride after a few arguments. Neither were sure that this was the best thing but sometimes you just had enough of wandering around all the time. The fact that joining the pride involved lessons meant that Beluwa was moaning to his brother much more then normal. Msikizi enjoyed the lessons though, he liked the history and how everything worked and it was probably a good thing one of them listened. They were learning well though and today they had decided to go wandering.

Msikizi had spent more time in the temple then Beluwa. Beluwa was never able to stay in one place for too long and so it had taken much persuasion but the two of them were out and exploring.

"So what you think so far? Right choice?" Beluwa flicked his tail behind him as he spoke.

"I do. Our sister would have liked it here as well I am sure."

"She chose somewhere else to live though not here." Beluwa always seemed to point out the obvious.

"Maybe she hadn't found this place. Anyway are we exploring or not?" Msikizi looked at his brother and smiled, he didn't want to talk about Bakhti, not today. Today he wanted to keep a smile on his face.

It was rare to see Maa-nefer alone, but today she'd gone wandering to see what the artisans were up to and Sher just hadn't wanted to tag along.

She hummed softly to herself some song that she'd made up, the words still sorting themselves out in her head. The accoustics of the hallway amplified it just a little bit, but it still didn't echo or carry. Scents, however, did.

Her ears perked, straining now to hear as she went on humming and walking. Her nose told her that someone was up ahead, and only vaguely did she recognize the scents. Either papa or their uncle and vizier Matifu had carried the scent on them recently. She wasn't entirely sure which of the two, but now she had faces to go with the scents, rounding the corner to see the two heading towards her. They seemed to be talking so she did the polite thing and stayed quiet, waiting to be noticed instead of interrupting their conversation. Her humming persisted, but softer still, so as also not to intrude.

Beluwa of course noticed the female, which was a blessing for Msikizi as he knew his brother wasn't one to let a conversation go easily. Beluwa's posture changed instantly and he carried himself somewhat differently and it just made Msikizi smirk.

"Why hello there!" Beluwa spoke first of course, he wasn't about to miss a chance to talk to a female. Especially when all the females in this pride were so pretty. Ah there he had found the best point of joining a pride!

"Good day miss." Msikizi was of course more polite. The brothers once had been the opposite of what they were now. Msikizi would be the one running to any female he met but he had calmed somewhat and now Beluwa had taken his place. It was only normal that one brother be a little over the top though and the boys were good natured generally.

"I am Beluwa and this is Msikizi my brother, I don't believe we have had the pleasure of meeting you." Beluwa was going to make sure a conversation happened between them and this fine female even if it meant turning and walking back the way they had come.

Maa-nefer, though far from being any kind of airhead, couldn't help giggling in response to the one male's reaction. She was a happy little thing by nature and being flirted with, at least she thought he was opening the conversation with flirtation, was always fun, since she wasn't even so much as engaged yet.

"Sun's greetings to you both!" The lioness happily called in return. "I'm princess Maa-nefer, the pleasure is mine."

She drew closer from where she'd been standing, now that she'd been spotted and greeted.

"How is the pride suiting you so far?" She inquired, both polite and curious.

Her introduction stating being a princess led quite quickly to a nudge to Beluwa from his brother. Not that Beluwa was one to pay any attention, princess or not she was a pretty girl!

"Well it is a pleasure to meet you princess." Beluwa bowed as much as a fully grown male can bow. Msikizi just looked confused as to whether this was his brother just being over the top or whether he should be bowing as well. Instead he decided to answer her question.

"The pride is marvelous. Much to learn but all is going well." Msikizi was clearly obvious in the pride and how it ran in fact he found it fascinating.

"The pride is made more amazing by you I must say..." Of course Beluwa had something to say. He had pushed his brother to the side making sure that he was clearly the one getting all of her attention. It would have been more normal for Msikizi to just let his brother make a fool of himself but for once he wasn't about to let his brother make a fool of himself in front of a princess and so more nudging happened though Beluwa stood his ground, closer to the princess then Msikizi.

Her reaction to their response was genuinely delighted. She knew they probably wouldn't bother staying if they were unhappy, but she still enjoyed hearing that others found their home to be pleasant and hospitable. Her parents worked hard together to see the pride doing this well, to make sure everyone felt welcomed and safe. Maa just pretended not to notice the nudging, tail swaying with contentment.

"I'm glad, and yes, there are a lot of lessons." She laughed a bit, not at them, though. "It seems there's always something new to learn. My older sisters have been around much longer than me and even they're still surprised from time to time." A toothy grin punctuated the reply this time. To Beluwa she let out another small, girlish laugh, but was a bit flustered to be flattered so much in one meeting so far, taking it in stride as well as she could. "I don't know about that, but I'm glad to make you feel more welcome? You should meet my sisters and brothers sometime too, even though there are quite a few of us..."

For a moment her head tilted just slightly one way, golden eyes drifting away briefly as she contemplated this. Two seconds later and her attention re focused on the two males.

"I was on my way to see if the artisans are doing anything interesting today. Would you care to come with me?"

She seemed hopeful that they would, smile bright and cheerful, and certainly innocent for one her age.

Msikizi listened and was curious as to how many siblings she had and would have been happy to meet all of them but he wasn't really one to nose into things. Beluwa though was more then happy to find out about all these sisters of hers.

"How many siblings do you have?" He asked curiously. He didn't ask how many sisters which to be honest was what he wanted to know but he wasn't really that shallow, just seemed it. She did make out to have a lot of siblings and he had always thought having two was hard enough.

"We would love to come and see the artisans at work!" Msikizi spoke up this time. He knew Beluwa would come but for a completely different reason. He wished sometimes that Beluwa would act more like he use to, all this flirting was silly but at least he didn't get in too much trouble.

"Twelve litter mates, and four older sisters." Maa-nefer answered with a soft purr, though it was more energetic, calm but a bit pensive, as though she were holding in boundless energy just standing in place. She turned a smile to Msikizi again, glad to hear someone else enthused about the prospect of looking in on them. "Oh, good! My sister usually comes with me, but she isn't as interested in the artisans' work as I am. Maybe Dafina will be there and you can meet her too!"

She moved closer to the two, as if to go past or between them, but waited for them to turn that way as well, back the way they had come from.

Beluwa was at last speechless. Twelve litter mates? That meant there had to have been thirteen cubs in one litter? The thought of it scared him and he wondered for a minute or two whether there was something in the water. He didn't want thirteen cubs maybe he could keep away from the females? But they were pretty... erm....

"Do many have that large a litter here?" It was Msikizi who asked. He knew his brother well enough to know what would be going through his head. Msikizi on the other hand was just a big softy. He loved cubs and wouldn't mind having hundreds of them running around.

"May I ask who Dafina is?" Again it was Msikizi who asked, Beluwa still seemed somewhat in shock but they did both manage to turn around, allowing her to go between them.

"Not quite that big, usually! My elder sisters' litter was only four. Seven seems to be the average number." She reasoned with a grin, tail swaying in contentment. "Dafina? She's one of my best friends, and one of our artisans. She's a dancer."

She led them back down the hallways again, making sure they were still with her.

The boys listened and nodded, at least not all the litters here were huge, that would take pressure off the boys if either or both ever took mates of their own.

"Nice to know..." Beluwa said and let her lead them on. Msikizi of course stayed very close happy to be led by the female. It would be interesting to see if nothing else and neither male had anything better to do.
