He was actually a Deputy! He couldn't believe it! Although it had already been a few days, the feeling of accomplishing his dream made him as energetic as ever. Yet, his love and devotion for his clan felt the same. Was it really that powerful all along?
TimberFang looked around the clearing of the camp; it felt like there still seemed like there was so much to do! He had already organized most of the patrols, it was only about sun-high, so there was no need to start the evening patrols, some of the warriors were already out training their apprentices, and he himself had already ran the dawn border patrol this morning; he even helped a few apprentices clean the elder's den and killed time hanging out in the nursery! His claws played with the tough soil beneath his pads, just dying to get out of camp or do something to help out the clan!

Patchpelt stretched out and grinned to herself. She had run two tight patrols around camp already. Being promoted to deputy had only caused her to increase her workload. No way would she let something happen to her clan while she was alive. After a brief visit with her kits she decided it was time to run another patrol around the perimeter of camp. Who knew when some spy would get past their ever vigilant warriors. Although she had faith in each and every one of them, she would never underestimate an enemy. She darted around in a huge circle encompassing the camp, her tail streaming behind her like a flag of war. Ahead she could see Timberfang, a fellow deputy, she did her best to come to a clean stop, digging her claws into the ground under her, kicking up a dust cloud as she stopped just short of him. "How's the patrols today Timberfang?"

The fur on the back of his neck bristled slightly when Patchpelt suddenly appeared next to him. "P-Patchpelt!" He stammered, surprised and happy to see her talk so directly to him. He had always wanted to talk to her, but seeing that she was now deputy, had kits to hang out with, and out of sheer nerves, he never really got the chance. "The patrols have been going great today! I've been on the dawn patrol, and I've helped out some of the apprentices around camp with their chores." Before continuing, Timberfang couldn't help but to 'wag' his tail, feeling excitement suddenly fill him up. "What about you? You seem pretty busy today so far..whatcha up to now?"

She nodded, pleased to see that she wasn't the only new deputy taking the responsibility seriously. She let her tail twitch from side to side as if it had a mind of its own. Which she was convinced it did. "Me? Oh! Just running a tight patrol around camp to make sure things are alright. Want to join me?" She hoped he'd agree, since she enjoyed his company.

Timberfang felt a surge of happiness flutter deep inside of his chest with her positivity and her tail twitching happily in response. "Of course I'd like to join you! I love taking patrols, and I'd love to accompany you even more..." As he spoke, he began to trail off towards the end. What a strange choice of words! Timberfang felt heat rush into his cheeks in embarrassment as he was pondering over what he said, and averted his gaze slightly. Why did he always seem to act so weird around Patchpelt? He tried his best to push the thoughts out of his mind before giving all of his attention back to her. "So, uh, where would you like to start with me first today?"
