What kinda a system do you all want in the LS/Company? What kinda rules should their be? Should we be a closed invitation only guild, applications, or just open to everyone? Should we quartermaster loot, lots, point system, need before greed?
What are your guys ideas and suggestions?

I think in the beginning it should just be private invites, with a short trial period to make sure people will be willing to cooperate in the group. But as the group gets larger and we have a good solid foundation we can start inviting randoms who are interested.
As for how we'll work I'm not exactly sure.

Loot Master system and Need before Greed, when you only Need it when it's an upgrade for your current job, are both good systems. A closed system wouldn't be bad at first either, as Xikar said, with the exception of lets say irl friends of LS members. As long as it's not a random stranger ya know ;D

Ideal linkshell/company:
We'd all start the game and eventually after the "wooooohooo" factor wears off and we get settled we team up together, helping each other level and help in quests. Eventually we'd be high enough to start planning weekly/monthly events to generate funds or items for members and be high enough to help new recruits. I don't think we should shun anyone away who would want to join or anything like that. I'm sure we're going to meet friends and such along the way we'd want to have join the company. I don't think we need a system of looting things until people start getting greedy. If you need it its yours, and if you had the item to start said event/quest, you should a least get something for initiating it.
I think the way we function will be shaped as to how we all play together. o _o

I always like helping people in MMORPG, especially newbies even if I aint very well-trained... So if I were to make my own company, it will be one that helps.
As for this, maybe we have one that work for a collective goal so that we can be strong enough to help others?
Maybe we can even let those who are stronger in certain factors to play certain roles like say:
People who are good in market and economy gets to keep most loot to sell for the company, and then buy equipments for guild members.

From the majority of videos I've seen the leve-quests seem to be the more fun the more people join'um. Hopefully we'll find a way to all merge together if we start in different cities and such and do as many as these together as possible. ^ 3^

Once we get a name for our linkshell, I am going to be creating a ventrilo server for everyone, 50 members at first, and perhaps increasing later, if we get big enough. FFXIV isn't too demanding. I play it in windowed mode with like 10 tabs open in firefox, and playing music, and I hardly get any lag so I should be able to run ventrilo as well for anyone who is interested.
