"Shore is a good day, yessir," she grunted to herself, going the same slow pace she had been since the morning began. She was a patient one to be sure, having hazarded through mud that had cut her already low speed in half; and that mud still caked her lowerbelly and limbs hours later, for she did not deign to clean it yet. No, nothing was as important as finding the next bit of food for the most part, so sometimes it surprised her to find insects stuck to her fur, or burrs on her left and twigs on her right, or God only knew what else dried on her buttocks. Still, a good meal made it all worth the while of that evening's worth of washing.
For instance, it was late afternoon at the time, and she had filled her belly with grass and mushrooms and . . . what was that again? poison ivy or something? She had a rather tough stomach apparently to have not noticed something ill-affecting until now. Shrugging it off, the hefty femme made for the shade to perhaps either nap off her meal or . . . Or rest her paws before getting back up and finding some more. Aah, food~ She nestled herself under a tree and began to hum to herself one of her old country's tunes, something about a farmer and a dell or something odd like that.

How long had it been since his last good meal? A while, that was for sure. Oh, there had been a few rabbit and a bit of deer recently but that wasn't what he liked to eat. No, no. What Prion favored most of all was to snack on his own kind. And he had not seen another wolf in some time. Now granted he was a bit picky about the wolves he consumed, they had to be the right color. Some colors just didn't taste as good as others, though in a pinch he would eat whatever color he came across. The thought of wolf flesh made his mouth water.
He had traveled far since his pack had died off, which had been a blessing in disguise for him as the dead had kept him alive for so many months. But even the dead eventually vanished and he had been forced to move on.
A bit of movement caught his attention up ahead. He turned his head to look out from his yellow eye and then turned it again to glance out of his red eye. Mmmm brown. It had been a while since he had a nice brown snack. But this one seemed to be a bit lively, which would make his quick snack a bit troublesome. If things could just drop dead whenever he needed to eat it would work out perfectly. Padding forward he set a course to meet up with this potential snack and see if it would be worth the effort of killing it or just looking elsewhere for food.
