i am wondering why a pokemons nature is so important and if it really makes a difference. i notice that alot of ppl look at nature whilr breeding and trading while i do not cause I only really want to fill out my pokedex.

all natures with the exception of five increase one stat by 10% and decrease another by 10%. so yes it can make all the difference in the world and can make or break a pokemons over all power.

If filling out the pokedex is one's goal nature means nothing.
To battlers though nature means a lot. Natures change the amount of two different stats. One is raise by 10% and the other is lowered by 10%. Every combo of stats (expect Hp which is not effected by natures at all) have a different nature. So having the right or wrong nature can make or break a pokemon. Take for example a Machamp. A Machamp with a Modest nature (+10% special attack for -10% attack) is not as powerful as an adamant nature (+10% attack for -10% special attack), or something like a bashful Machamp which gets no bonuses.
Here is a list of Natures if Curtis would like to see them all. http://www.smogon.com/dp/natures/

Let's also not forget that in trades, more desired natured-Pokemon tend to go for more than their undesired natured brethren, especially if they're female (which retain the ability to pass down their nature onto their offspring when an Everstone is being held by the mother).

Zetshimaru Monster hunter tri. Totally off topic though. Ah, I see. Sorry guys, I don't really play it much anymore to be honest (been playing alot of Modern Warfare 2 when I'm not breeding new pokes). Seeing how he's rank 35 now, he's way beyond me at this point. I believe I stopped around rank 9 or 10.

Seems like everyone has already expressed how important natures are. Yeah, natures are the difference between Maximum Attack and Minimum Attack, for example.
I'm still Rank 0 on tri! xp

Nature is how we survive- it starts the food chain, it gives us fresh air to breathe and it also gives us energy and resources, not to mention medicines and energy, for our bodies. We need to respect nature as part of respecting ourselves and future generations.
