Zeik started forward out the doggie door Mizuki had made for him and ran out into the gravel front yard. Well it wasn't all gravel there was plenty of grass but the first thirty feet outside the door was gravel and then a long stretch for a road and on the other side of that was the grass and a fence. Well it was the fence to keep the sheep in their area. There were several areas for the other animals her master owned such as the few horses and cows. The other farm hands lived in another house and didn't really bother them much in the main house.
However it was the sound of a car coming down the road that caught his attention. Ears perking up he watched it pull into the gravel driveway. He didn't remember Mizuki saying they were having visitors anytime soon so he barked as menacingly as he could with his deep barking growl, Mizuki has said he sounded much like a a mad Rottweiler, to warn Mizuki of this intruder.
She could hear his barking from the living room as it floated through the open window. Today had been hot as hell. The air conditioning was a nice way to cool off from the dismal heat outside. But she could hear the crunch of the gravel and decided maybe she should check it out since she wasn't expecting visitors. Once Mizuki hit the front door the heat bore into her when it opened. She had forgotten how hot it was. How Zeik could stand it out there she didn't know, but she usually didn't mind. Working out on the farm made her sweat, it didn't matter about how hot it was if things needed to get done.
As she watched the door open she grinned, well she had to act a bit hospitable. If they were psycho's though, she'd shoot them on site, or at least drive them off her property. Though she was not at that step just yet and probably wouldn't get there. Most people were just lost when they came here miles and miles from the city.

Snookie was standing up on her hind legs on her owner's lap looking out the window. It had been quiet a drive from the city out here to what seemed like the middle of nowhere. Snookie hadn't quite figured out what Krystal's reasoning was to coming this far out away from the city other than to "See about a job on a ranch". Snookie shook her head to rid herself of the echoing quote from what her owner had said earlier that day. Krystal meanwhile had gotten a good grip around Snookie's middle and picked her up off her lap, before holding Snookie with one arm while she used the empty hand to open her truck's door. The only reason Krystal was out here at this ranch was because she'd had to close down the flower shop she used to own due two a bigger name brand flower shop had opened up and had put her out of business and she needed a new job. Krystal got out of her truck and shut the door, not too worried about the puppy barking it's head off at her on the ground. She looked at the puppy and thought it was cute that it's owner had dressed it up to look like a cowboy, then proceeded to walk over to the main ranch house with Snookie lounging in her arms. "Hello, I'm Krystal West. I'm here about the ad you had in the paper. You're looking for farm hands ?" Krystal said as soon as she was under the shade of the porch. "And this little fluff ball is Snookie."Even though Snookie was lounging in her owners arms, she was listening to what was being said between her owner and the girl, Snookie was assuming was bother the other puppy's owner and the owner of the ranch. Snookie looked down at the other puppy and gave it a puppyish smile. "Hello." She said, even though it probably sounded like a whine or bark to the humans.

Zeik stopped his yelling of 'Go away!' when the other spoke and looked stunned for a second. "You." His eyes narrowed. "Are tresspassin'." Although he wasn't usually like this Mizuki hadn't said anything about visitors, so he was trying to protect her. He growled a little more and then stopped. "Why are you here intruder?" Staring at both the pup in the woman named Krystal's arms and Krystal. To the humans he'd sound like he was snarling.
"Oi, Zeik hush." She looked at Krystal, "Ah yes. Though phoning would have been nice, my number was on there. I hadn't expected someone today but I can accommodate. Come on in, you can let your pup down. Zeik will play nice." She glared at him, "Right?" He hands resting on her jean clad hips. As she went over to the door she opened it up and made a motion for her to follow. "I'll let you know all that I need help with. There have been a few farm hands who've gone off to find other work and its getting a harder to get all of this done. Plus the farm's growing."
His ears pressed against his head and his tails tucked between his legs. "I was only protecting you." He whimpered, which was all she could hear was the whimper. "Not like it did any harm."

Snookie looked at the other puppy. "My Owner came here for work. Snookie replied to the on guard puppy. Snookie looked around a little bit and then looked back at the other puppy again.
Krystal meanwhile, chuckled slightly. "Yes, well, I've always felt that job interviews are best done in person." Krystal said. "I know I should've called first, but I've been having some issues with my cell phone, so I haven't really been able to call much." Krystal then nodded and put her pup down before she started to head into the house. She stopped for a moment and looked at Snookie. "Be good."
Snookie nodded to her owner after Krystal had put her down. After Krystal went into the house, Snookie looked at the other puppy. "You were just doing your job." Snookie said. "My name's Snookie. What's your name ?"

Not bothering to look at her he sauntered off. He was still mad that Mizuki hadn't let him protect her and instead got scolded because he had barked at the intruders. So yah the woman and her rainbow pup were looking for a job and most likely a place to stay but, "This farm isn't big enough for the both of us." Turning back around at her, "So I'd watch my step. I'm the sheriff here, I make sure everything is in order. There's nothing I don't know know about here. I watch everyone. Mess up and I'll toss you in the cage."

Snookie followed the other pup a little ways, before he turned back around to face her. That's when she stopped where she was at. As he said the same lines that Hollywood cowboys were famous for saying, Snookie's mind was thinking something other than what he was saying. You've either been out in the sun too long or you've been watching too many westerns. She thought before she spoke, being sure to keep her thoughts to herself. "Ok then, Mr. Sheriff. Can I ask what the rules are so I know what not to do ?" Snookie said, half playing along to this pup's odd, but amusing game. "Also, if you don't want me calling you Mr. Sheriff, all the time, I think you should tell me your name. I didn't catch what it was when the lady talking to my owner said it."

"Its Zeik, small rainbow pup." He turned and barked at her, tails wagging. "Wanna take a run through the vast lands?" He asked as he hunkered down on his front paws, his back wagging. "I don't remember your name Rainbow pup." His cowboy persona was all part of how he was. He'd always been like this and the movies hadn't helped either. He gave a playful whine, "Yes? Yes? I'm pretty fast. Then again I've worked hard at running this place as best I can."

Snookie chuckled at what Zeik called her. "My name is Snookie, and it's nice to meet you. Snookie said, then smiled slightly at his challenge. "Sure, I'll run with you." After that she mimicked his playful pose before she barked at him happily. It'd been a while since she had someone to play with. One of Krystal's neighbors had a puppy, but then they moved away and Snookie lost her play mate.

Using his back legs to throw himself forward he took off like a bullet. He was agile, like a fox almost and nearly as quick. His blue eyes darted from place to place remembering the pot holes and dips in the ground. Then as abruptly as he had started stopped at the cow barn quite a ways from the house. For someone walking it was a good fifteen minutes away, he usually made it within ten. "How was that?" Tails wagging a mile a minute as his words came out in a rough tone, although that's how it was all the time. "Out of breath yet Snookie? There's plenty of land we can run on here. Just careful of some of the animals. Coyote's live 'round here too, and foxes. Sometimes even wolves. But I scare 'em off wif my bark."

A few moments after Zeik took off running, so did Snookie. She got to where he was shortly after he had gotten there. Of course after running like she had in the heat, Snookie was panting slightly. "I am a little bit, but not by much." Snookie said as she caught her breath. "Coyotes, foxes, and wolves ? I've only seen those animals on tv." Living in the city, Snookie hadn't really seen very many animals except for when Krystal decided to watch the Discovery Channel. The most she'd ever seen was birds, cats, and other dogs.

Grinning from ear to ear he watched her pant there. "Come on let's go get something to drink. I bet you're thirsty. There are plenty of watering holes around. Mizuki thought it'd be smart since there's all this land and I like running, didn't want me to be thirsty way out there." He led her around the building to a doggy door and let himself in. Inside they would be belted with the stench of cows, of course Zeik was used to it so it didn't bother him. He led her right up to the slightly lifted water bin. "And there's a button to pump water here too."

"Alright and yeah, I am thirsty. It was nice of your owner to put water in different places for you." Snookie said as she followed him around to a doggy door. As soon as she went through the door, she wrinkled her nose at the smell. "It smells really bad in here. What's it from ?" She asked before she followed him to the tub of water. "That's pretty cool."
