Lust, she had had it before as well as diligence. Together... that was a different story. However, it wasn’t like she was going to teach or act any different. Elisabetta was just a kid in need of a class she just happened to teach. Or so Ary hoped, anyways. She was always a little dodgy around lust types after several classes with them. Wrath was different. They were almost predictable, unlike lust which was... just plain-old weird.

Said weird kid stopped in the hall to resituated her pant leg before zipping up her neon green boot. Her longer tentacle held stiff as a board to keep her upright. Despite her appearance, Lissy was a balanced girl...in most ways.

She knocked and entered, looking around apprenhensively. She'd had one melee class before, but what little she'd learned hadn't stuck. The teen crossed her arms underneath her breasts, bitting her upper lip when she noticed the teacher.

Huh. The first female she'd seen in the labs beside J'her. Hopefully this meeting wouldn't end the same way. "Hey, I'm here for my class. My name's Lissy, ur, Elisabetta Thorne, ma'am."

Ary glanced over at the door, eyes drawn instantly to the neon-colored boots. Dang those were bright... "M'name's Arytiss, but call me Ary. Easier to remember and say and I just prefer it over anything else," she introduced, pulling her hair back into a ponytail.

"To begin, since I encourage you kids to learn what you want, I'm letting you pick a style. No karate or whatever, as my expertise doesn't exactly cover that. I'm more of a street fighter than anything else. So, anything you've always wanted to learn or shall I chose something?" she explained, pondering a hand-to-hand combat session. The tentacles could really make things difficult if they actually attacked. Avoiding four limbs was far more difficult than, say, two.

Well that...was unfortunate. The only hand-to-hand combat she'd learned was karate, and that was what little her guardian had time to show her. The rest was staff fighting. Elisabetta pondered it for a moment before shrugging.

"Just pick whatever you like best. I'm not a fighter, so I don't have a preferred style." Almost as an after thought, she started taking out her earrings and other jewelry. Her tentacles, however, held onto the halo's stubbornly, so all four stayed.

Ary sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose between her fingers. God she hated being forced to decide. "Well... Besides the fact that you've never fought, would you consider yourself more agile or dexterous or possess a good deal of strength? Your tentacles, how well can they move on their own?" she asked, trying to think of various techniques based on those few concepts. Strength would probably end up with them fist fighting while dexterity would be more knife throwing or archery. Agility would probably make a better swordsman, so long as she had some dexterity...

Then again, there were hundreds of other things too that would work. Those just happened to crop up first.

Lissy frowned. Well, it wasn't like she'd ever really thought about fighting before, so why have a style picked out? Really. She tapped her finger on her chin while pondering. "I'm flexible, if that's what you mean, but I don't do well with concentration. And the only real strength I have is with these" She'd been about to point to her tentacles, then she noticed the shier chibi curl in on itself. "well, with this guy."

Then she had to think again. "They move pretty well on their own, but they'll only strike if we're in danger. Or when they want to." Really, for something attached to her, they were quite picky.

Ary frowned slightly, thinking hard. Ok, so tentacles were useless so she could count them out. Specially the shorter one it seemed by how it reacted to Lissy. She needed something that was fast paced and involved flexibility.

"Alright. Would you want something that was more elegantly done? I have an idea, but it's more like a sword and a knife merged together to form one hella nasty weapon. Called the Chakram. Could be thrown like a frisbee really far too if I remember correctly," Ary continued, rubbing a light scar across her shoulder that seemed to curve around with her arm. Yeah. They weren't the nicest things to play around with either.

"A Chakram?" She questioned, stretched her leg out behind her to stretch. What a weird name. Chak-ram. Maybe it was a chalk ram that lived in the- Oooh, she was off topic again and probably giving a weird face. Shape up! "I think I've heard of those before, but I've never seen one. You can really teach me how to use them?"

The enthusiasm was clear as crystal in her voice. Elegance? Hella nasty? Hella awesome, she meant.

A dark grin crossed Ary's face as she nodded. "Perhaps you have, but only in museums. Most don't have them except for collectors or those that were around to learn the secrets of making one. I have a couple that are two piece ones, meaning they're good for melee combat and won't slice off fingers," she replied, moving to grab the two that had the dullest edges and were highly unlikely to slice open flesh.

That didn't mean they couldn't, however. Pulling out one set, she held it out to Lissy, the dulled metal still a beautiful blue-gray with the dull gold handles engraved with various symbols and designs. "Here, you can use these while I find another pair. Careful with the edge, however. It may be almost as dull as a butter knife but can still cause damage," she warned, finally finding her pair in one of the trunks.

"Your...pretty experienced, then, if you know how to use them. At least, that's what I'm guessing." She stepped closer to watch Ary pull out the set. They had to be the weirdest weapon's she'd ever seen in her life and they made her nervous. How was she going to work them? Cautiously, she wrapped her hands around the engraved handles.

"Their heavy." She stated bluntly. Lissy wasn't used to holding a weapon, so the feel of one in her palm was new. The teenager slid her hands from one end of the handle to the other, feeling out the bumps and grooves. "They look like Yin Yang symbols. Put them together and you get a full circle."

“I am. There’s little for weapons that I don’t know of or how to use,” Ary replied, watching Lissy examine the weapons and get used to them and the simple idea of holding one. “They are a bit on the heavy side for one unaccustomed to them. However, that should fade as you get used to them,” she added, knowing that there was a good deal out there that was several times heavier. A good deal of which her student probably had no chance in even lifting. A slight smile touched her face at the ying-yang comparison.

“There are some that are hooked together permanently and some that can be put together or split apart at will to be used for throwing or slicing someone’s head off.” It suddenly occurred to her just how violent some of her weapons could be, and how non-violent the kids of Gaia seemed to be. Damn, it was a wonder they weren’t scared into never returning to her classes.

To say that Lissy was impressed would be an understatement. But then again, the labs wouldn't hire just anyone would they? In that aspect she was pretty damn lucky.

"Their head...their head?" The teenager stared at her instructor and back down at the weapons in her hands with sudden awareness. "That's just....wow." She gulped and looked back up, eager to switch topics. "So, how do you use them?"

Ary laughed. “But times for that have passed in most places so no worries. They’re pretty dull, right now, too,” she replied, splitting her pair into two and holding them so the bladed part ran by where her knuckles were. “You should hold them like this, but in combat it doesn’t really matter so long as you’re comfortable and it works. This just works the best, kinda like holding a knife,” she explained, even taking a little practice swipe out into the air to demonstrate.

“You try, though there’s no need to be fancy. Just get used to the feel against your palm, the weight at the end of your arm, the feeling of the blade slicing its way through the air,” she continued, figuring Lissy needed to get used to it first before they tried anything. It wasn’t like a sword and thus generally easy to get used to with a bit of practice. No, these required concentration so as to not injure yourself as well as an enemy.

Elisabetta looked down at the dulled blade and let out a literal sigh. Her entire body loosened up immediately with the blades a weighted extension of her arms. "Like this?" She looked at Ary, then copied the motion.

She took a swing up and made a slice across the air, instantly lurching forward before catching herself. She stuck out her tongue and tried it again, this time with her legs spread out. When that seemed to work, she kept it up at different angles, making sure to go slow so she could watch herself.

Of course, her tentacles wanted a part of the action. While the little one was just curious, the longer one jutted out and she had to pull to a dead stop to avoid hitting it. "Don't make me tape you down," Lissy warned.

Ary couldn’t help but laugh a little at the strange tentacles as Lissy practiced with the dull blades, getting used to them in the process. Of course, her longer and ever eager tentacle was nearly hit in the process. “I have some rope, or I could give them a knife as it would be good practice for them as well as yourself,” she commented, a little more than amused at her student’s current problem. At least they were showing some sort of interest in the fighting instead of trying to hinder it.
