Dark hooves pressed down a patch of soft dirt, pushing it into hardness. Rocks were easier to stand on then dirt, the dark female decided, flicking her ears with a frown. Clandestin snorted at the dirt with a frown. She’d deal with it – she liked this place, despite the patched of soft dirt that liked to make her hooves sink in. She pressed it down one last good time before walking away.
She was done grazing there, and the sand would try to eat her again no doubt.
Of course, she knew that sand didn't really eat klipspringers. Her hooves were just made for nice, hard rocks. She wondered why it was easier walking straight up the face of a rock, but walking on sand was troublesome.
Clandestin sighed, watching for the softer sands that decided to randomly show up just to irk her.

He was getting used to this being in a mortal body. Getting used to having four hooves was an experience in itself, luckily he had owned two for the bulk of his life so getting used to a second pair wasn't quite as difficult. Still it was strange being smaller than usual and seeing the world from a different perspective. This was the first full day he had spent like this and he hadn't told anyone who he was, not even Zebadie, whom he always confided in. It was nice having a secret, being someone else, if only for a day.
He spotted the dark female on the sand and he smiled. He knew her, he had met her before in his true form, it was time to see if he could fool someone he knew.
"Hi." he smiles, tilting his head at the jet black female "Are you okay?" he wrinkles his nose and flickers his ears would she recognise him from his markings?

A dark ear flicked softly over to the sound of a voice. "Oh, Hello," she said, stomping down another soft patch of dirt with one black hoof.
When she was satisfied, she turn and looked at the other - a male, by his horns, and a handsome one at that. He looked familiar, but she couldn't place it at all. She gave up the thought.
"Umn, I suppose I am," she commented. She shifted, a little embarrassed that he saw her in a fit of annoyance over dirt. Oh well, it wasn't the end of the world.

The big male klipspringer chuckles quietly. "Do you need a hand?" He tilts his head a little his ears twitching. "My name is Hal, by the way, in case you were curious." He had decided to lie about his name too, well, he wasn't in to deceiving but he wanted to keep his disguise.
"I'm sure I can help you, that dirt seems to be rather sticky."

Clande brightened a bit. At least he didn't think she was insane. "Oh, are you new here then?" she asked. She knew she hadn't seen him anywhere before - she wasn't crazy after all, though some others might beg to differ! "Nice to meetcha, Hal. I'm Clandestin."
"Mm, the dirt's been trying to eat me all day," she noted, moving away from the offending soft dirt.

The klipspringer nodded. "Yes, brand new." Okay another lie but if was to keep his identity a secret he had to be 'Hal' "Thats a beautiful name, I wonder if I can bother you to show me around some? I haven't had a chance to see hardly any of the herds lands yet, though I hear they are huge." He smiles winningly watching her edge her way towards him over the sticky, sucking dirt.

Clandestin gave a small smile, "Welcome to the Herd, then Hal," She liked his name, it was fun to say. She gave a small shy giggle. "Thank you," she answered. She gave a bright smile following.
"Sure, I'll show you around." She pawed at the sturdier ground for a moment before starting to walk away. "We can go this way first."

Palahala smiles brightly bouncing after the dark klippy female his tiny tail flickering and twitching happily. It was wonderful to be a klipspringer. Having four hooves instead of two was proving to be far more fun than even he could describe.
Clopping up beside Clandestine the big male smiles. "Lead the way and I shall follow." He smiles that ever so charming smile once again his ears twitching to attention.
