The World Around Us
You seek adventure...you seek what has never been seen...you thirst for what every human being has thirsted for at least once in their life. The difference? You do something about it. You have found your outlet, your sanctuary. It is none other than the sky! Of course it's not as easy as it sounds, because, well, nothing ever is right? There are rules to follow of course. The absolute law of the ship binds your soul to it, but it's only a small price to pay no? You have one last chance to turn away and save yourself. One last chance to live a normal life....Still here? Well then lad, you asked for it. Continue on gaian, this decision may have been your last.

So you have sealed your fate then. This of course means you must be educated in the ways of the land and the races that walk it. We don't need a "n00b" on our ship. That would be the death of us all. Heaven forbid we be attacked and you try to beat down a golem with a stick. (Trust me it has happened. Why do you think there's an open space for you to join?) For now, we will begin with a brief education of the land. There are of course many many cities and smaller city states in each country, but to cover them all would take hours. Of course, you don't Have to listen, it's your choice, and your risk to take.
Barton
>Barton is the largest country in the Gaia world. although it's trading doesn't come close to the prowess of the country of Gambino, it is proficient enough the hold its own in imports and exports. The people are generally very kind, although there are whispers of rebellion in the king's court.
>Yes, Barton is a monarchy, and thus ruled by a King. This king doesn't take kindly to pirates or any of the sort, which has resulted in feuding with Gambinos general ochlocracy (look it up), for they are notorious for being a country of wild riffraff. (It is of course our favorite country) Rumors have been spreading that the king is attempting to negotiate with Aekea to get the technology to beat Gambino and expand its borders, which of course is leading to the rebellion of the Barton people who want peace.
>The king's son Ian, on the other hand, has been missing for around a month now. It is rumored he fought with his father on military tactics and left in a storm, claiming he would find a way to better rule the country and overtake him when he returned. Guards are looking everywhere for him, and the whole country is in a frenzy over their missing beloved Prince. You wouldn't happen to know where he is would you?
> Barton City is the countries most famous and powerful city. It is mostly referred to as the capitol, and its where important chancellors, dukes, generals, and others hold meetings. Its famous for its arena, where a gladiator style of rule is held. Gaians vote to choose which art, writings, and even latest fashion trends are the best out there. Of course there is a darker side to the arena, where brawlers and the like gamble on battles between each other, using their magical fighting rings of course. This will be covered at later time though. Barton City is also well known for its jewelery shops, apparel shops, and even shop specializing in the affairs of love. In the center of the city lies a beautiful square, and in the center an equally beautiful fountain stands proud in the sunshine and glitters mysteriously in the dark. This is where most of the festivals are held.
Aekea
>Aekea is well known for its technological prowess. It was in fact, where the first flying ship originated from. It is said that a famous magician helped two gods and the son of Gambino himself take flight and explore the skies. The other countries of course, feared this power and like a cold war, the battle for new technology began, resulting in magical growth and new breakthroughs in space and time, thus pushing us into the age we live in now.
> Aekea's government system is that of a democracy, and as such generally remain neutral in the affairs of other countries. It was deeply disconcerting when the King of Barton approached looking for a means of destruction, and upon fearing Barton's wrath because of their military size, Aekea has yet to come to a clear decision on the matter.
> This country has no rival when it comes to repair, new inventions, and upgrades for anything you can think of. There are mechanical genius's everywhere in the country, and it is not uncommon to hear and explosion or two daily anywhere and in any city you go to. Steampunk is a rising technology becomeing popular throughout Aekea.
Durem
> Ah Durem, the most refined and sophisticated country of them all. This country is the complete opposite of Gambino, and although we pirates love Gambino, we can certainly admire the high quality that comes from this place. In turn Durem grudgingly admires the sheer godliness of Gambinos trade. The woman are gorgeous, the wine is delicious, the clothes are perfect and always in style, the houses are amazingly furnished...but of course, it also has its flaws. Vampires and Dark Elves seem to like the place just as much as we do, and as such make themselves at home.
> Relations between Gambino and Durem are like a teenage couple. They're on good terms on day and on bad the next. Durem gets along extremely well with Aekea, and these countries are on the best terms by far. Towards Barton though, Durem remains distastefully neutral. The good relations for however long it lasts with Gambino can probably be because of Aekea.
> Durem runs on a form of Democratic Aristocracy, where The more prominent and most valuable businesses get to choose whats in the whole countries best interest, and then after a general agreement by other businesses, put plans into action using their respective trades. Lets just say that whatever they decide on it usually makes them more money. Which is why Aekea is on good terms with them. Durem funds Aekeas projects and Durem gets the spoils so to speak.
Gambino
> Ah Gambino, how we love you so. Between your unruly government type, your gambling, black market, marketplace, bootlegging, and amazing crime rings, we don't know what we love more! Anybody can be powerful, all you have to have is a slick way with words, some luck, and a follower or two. Looks and money wouldn't hurt your chances either! You can find anything and everything in this part of the continent (for the right price of course) and the port is said to have the best fish around. That of course, doesn't hurt exports either.
>Taking a look back, Gambino has been the source of a lot of grief. From falling towers to sniper killing sprees, on top of grunnie outbreaks and undead armies, it's needless to say Gambinans have become a hardy people. The best warriors come from there, and are often referred to as spartans. It is not uncommon to send someone shaking in fear because you said you had a Gambinian fighter on your side. Gambino is also rumored to be home to a famous guild of gypsy thieves.
> Gambino port is not only known for its fish, its also known for its mermaids. This causes a lot of tourism, because Gambino is the only place known to have land based mermaid sightings anymore. After the sea god referred to the overseer took to the sky so long ago, many of his faithful companions followed him, evolving to live off of the clouds and roam where they float. Of course, mermaids aren't the only ones to have taken to the sky...
Bassken Lake
> Not much to say about Bassken Lake except to note it has excellent seafood cuisine, beautiful boat shows, and tough fisherman. Its magnificent lighthouse attracts a lot of tourism, and the waters are as clear as crystal, giving the lake a beautiful hue of blue. The beaches attract models from all over Gaia for photo shoots. You also see many scavengers and beach bums scouring the sand for the infamous diamond sea shell, rumored to only appear to the people with the purest love.

You've got the lay of the land, but now you must know what lies in the creatures that rule it. From humans to mages to gypsys to pixies, it is time for you to discover how little your race truly is. Should you discover a new races on your travels, be sure to tell me so we can work on adding it to the list that will keep you alive. Knowledge is power. Why do you think Aekea is in the position they're in now?
Dark Elves-These seductive beings are dark in complexion (with a few exceptions) and have very light or usually white hair most of the time. Although they may roam in the sunlight they very much like to keep to the shadows. They are proficient in stealth and are very agile, making them the perfect assassins. Dark elves are mostly seen in Durem, and get along well with Vampires. They are a well organized and civil race, and are extremely intelligent. Dark Elves rarely trust, but their word is very valuable. One of the very few customs they share with light elves is the concealing of their true elfen name. They always seem to have their own agenda, and are overall an extremely mysterious race. They also seem to have magical capabilities, not enough to rival a mage, but enough to cause serious damage, making them very dangerous to meddle with. They also don't very much like elves of the light. Pictures may be seen here. X X X X
Light Elves- These bright creatures enjoy life to the fullest, and are one of the most free spirited races out there. They would make good pirates, except for their general stubbornness and good intentions. Elves of the light need little luxury, unlike their dark counterpart. Thus, dark elves tend to view light elves as barbaric and naive. These elves believe heavily in honor and have a samurai like culture that they follow, and although they are good natured and bright in personality, they can easily hold their own in battle. Light elves are attracted to laughter and joy, and are commonly seen in Barton. They have a close relationship with mermaids of both types, but wrinkle their nose at races with darker tendencies. They have sickening talent in anything they decide to do, and rival their counterpart in intelligence and cunning. Light elves are forever wanderers, and never stay in a single place for long. They also attract trouble, because although intentions are good, they don't always conform to laws to show for it. Most light elves stick to the respective element they are born to, and are renown for their beauty, along with their uncanny ability to craft. Archery is often their weapon of choice, and their arrows are some of the most high quality and beautiful things you can buy, although they keep their methods very secret. Magic is something not foreign to them. They have an underlying secrecy to them, and don't always let on the full story. Although more trusting than dark elves, you won't know anything too deep about a light elf unless you have earned the right to know as much. It is a great honor when a light elf pledges his past to you, as well as their elfen name. Pictures will be put in at a later time.
Mermaids and Men- These creatures are playful and innocent, but the very worst thing you can do is mistake that for stupidity. How would you like to face a mass of air or sea gods swarming at you because you made them angry? This race is divided into two species. Those that go by the air prefer to be called air maidens, or men of course. Instead of living in the sea, they find life in the clouds. They of course, can give themselves legs and roam about as they please, but their magical capability is cut in half, and they are very restricted. It is a small price to pay for a bit more freedom. Their magic lies with the wind, and as such have no control over any other elemental magic. The same applies for mermaids/men. The only difference between the two species would be the elements and the rarity. Air maidens/men tend to be more common than the creatures who remained loyal to their mother the sea. These creatures are very fickle, and change their mind often, and are renown for their luck and beauty. They are also peaceful, making them targets for poachers and slave traders. A huge pet peeve for these two species is to be mistaken for one another. Pictures may be seen here. X X X X
Vampires- These beings are the very essence of night creatures. Not only do they despise the sunlight, they can't see very well in it, and their magical abilities are sliced in half. They also have a distaste for other races, and look upon them as if they were lower. There are exceptions to this rule of course. There is a rumor that the king of Bartons son is part vampire, and loves the sun as much as he does the moon, and likes everyone in general. The king of Vampires, Louie Von Helson, is also said to be very kind. They are very close to dark elves, and it isn't uncommon to see a half breed or two around. Like dark elves, they have the same magical capability. They can also eat real food, although they prefer their main diet of blood. They are quick, but not as agile as their friends, but what they lack in that area they make up with sheer power. They tend to haver darker hair and eyes, and have paler skin due to lack of skin exposer. Pictures may be seen here. X X X X
Pixies- Pixies are very mischievous and very spiteful. They may be small but thats only because they choose to be. Their pixie dust is very valuable, and has a market value of 5,000 gold a pinch. They bring very good luck when they're on your side, but like I said, they are very fickle and mischievous creatures. They have ultimate mastery in illusion magic, and often lead creatures into trouble. Once a pixie decides to bond with someone though, they're loyal to you for life. This is an amazingly rare occurrence though. Pixies stick to their mother element, earth, and thus are only ever seen in forests or mountains and stay hidden. Being so secretive, they are hardly ever spotted. There are many different other pixies though, who hide near or in their own elements as well, such as fire pixies or water pixies. They are very beautiful beings, who love fun. Pictures may be seen here. X X X X
Skorne (Purists / Elementalists) - A strange nomadic race, Skorne are split both physically and ideologically into two opposing variants. Skorne Purists are fair haired and dark skinned. They shun magic and rely on martial skills to achieve their goals. Skorne Elementalists on the other hand, are fair skinned and usually have crimson hair. The Elementalists are practically addicted to magic and are known to utilize elemental fire. Purists are extremely ordered and are often found in Barton and Aekea. Elementalists are spunky and rebellious and usually take up residence in Gambino where they frolic amidst the daily chaos. Purists are fond only of other Purists and occasionally humans. Elemental Skorne are pretty much even with everyone, save Mermaids/men, whose element is naturally opposed to their own. Pictures of both Pure and Elemental Skorne may be found here. XXXX Credit for discovery:Kohryu
Djinn- Djinn are an extremely rare breed that travel all around the gaia world un-noticed and un-seen. They look upon the world completely objectively and have no loyalty to anyone or anything. They are considered gods, and have un matched strength in magic. Very little is known about djinn, and most of what is known is through either story or rumor. They are troublemakers and extreme in their beliefs. There is a caste system rumored, but so far no one has been able to say for sure how it works. You could meet one on a street and never know it unless they wanted you too, and no one would believe you even if they did. Theres is an ancient story of a king binding djinn with an arcane circle, but the art and knowledge has long since been lost. It is rumored they favor gypsies and often visit them, and even mate with them occasionally. Pictures of what are believe to be djinn can be seen here. [X] [X] [X] [X]
Name of Race: (Creativity!) Info on Race: (At least five sentences explaining the race. i.e. what they are like, what race they like, traits, most commonly seen where? etc etc. ) Pictures: (What the race looks like. At least four linked photos, preferably but not required of two boys and two girls)

Now that you have been armed with knowledge of the races, it is time to introduce you to the ship and what it means to be a crew member. Break the rules and walk the plank. Unless you have wings. In which case we just shoot you. Anywho, this is a list of the absolute laws of the ship. Remember, the ship owns your soul, you gave it up as a pledge. Now it is time you learn what exactly that entitles.
Laws
> You must be an active member of the ship. We do not tolerate slackers, and if we find that you are not pulling your weight around the ship, you will be thrown overboard. Or shot. One person can't manage a whole ship, so be sure to help your mates out. When they call out for you, you better damn well answer them and fast. It could mean life or death.<
>When we're on a bounty mission, try your best to help complete it. Don't accept a job and then go off willy nilly doing as you please. That just leads to you getting smitten by god. Trust me, I'm sure you'd rather have some nice gold in your pocket rather than trying to find your scattered limbs every which way. Don't dawdle around, because we will leave your sorry behind to the beasties if it comes down to it. The crew in general is more important than a measly one person.<
>We spent time educating you for a reason. So you don't go around disgracing us with your foul grammer and hillbilly ignorance. Foul language on the other hand, is perfectly okay, we are pirates after all. Also, put a little meat on your actions. Don't simply reply "Aye" to whomever decides to grace you with conversation, its just plain rude. We pirates are capable of manners sometimes too you know.<
> Unless you are inanimate like a rock or dirt, you are perfectly killable or hurtable. Why do you think we have you fill out a form? If your dice roll is lower than your opponents, then by god you better hope a crew mate rolls high enough to defend you, or else your arse is beat. Its the absolute law. No whining. No complaining. The world doesn't care where you came from, what you've done or what you do, if it decides your going to lose your sure as hell going to lose.<
>We aren't cavemen you know. We are far beyond 20th century technology. We just simply prefer to mix old with new. Don't get too fancy with your imagination though. Whatever you think of surely exists, but that doesn't mean a lowly pirate would be able to afford it. What we're trying to say here is, be realistic. You are what you are, so act accordingly. If we pirates hate anything it would be a fake.<
>We pirates change our minds all the time. Things shift and change like the winds that keep the ship moving. This list of laws may change and grow, but we can assure you it will always remain fair.<
A Description of the ship the Lady Nonamia.
(awesome name courtesy of the always awesome katty_angel)
Our ship the Lady Nonamia has may quirks and funny little trinkets about it, so let's get started teaching you about them. No need for you to take a wrong turn and fall right off the ship. Starting off, we have a deck. This is were we steer and navigate the ship, battle, and pretty much enjoy the view. It is one of the most important and dangerous places of the ship, and thus needs a lot of maintenance and care to keep it in shape. We also of course, have rooms for you. Honestly, we don't care about what you do in each others rooms, but that doesn't mean we want to hear about it. We have a galley where we keep our food, along with a dining hall. These are kept below deck, and even deeper in the ship lies our magic engine. You know, that keeps this bucket floating. It's a pretty standard pirate ship, the only difference is our cannons are magical. It would be so much easier if we had a mage to power them, but for now we'll make due with batteries.

This is our bounty wall, because not only are we pirates, we are also bounty hunters. The crew member who assisted the most in the previous mission gets to choose the next mission we do. Simple. The system goes from A to C, C being the easiest to complete, A being the more complex story lines to get through, because yes, there are story lines to complete. But I won't tell...unless you bribe me of course >_>; NPCs are controlled by god, and to get certain information from them you must roll high enough on a dice. What you have to roll is of course up to god. The dice count is 1-20. Oh yes, this is also true for battling. You must beat your opponents roll to win the battle. (while roleplaying it out of course) That particular dice number is 1-100.

Now crewie, there is one more thing you must do to make yourself official. You must fill out this form proving your alligence to your ship, and acknowledging your at risk of dying or receiving mortal wounds or are at risk for being cursed etc. etc. That way when you die or if something happens to you we won't have a bunch of gangs, family members, countries, and who knows what else after us for revenge. When you receive a stamp of approval from our captain, your one of us! Woo. stare
иαмε: (be creative, use your noggin, make it *dramatic pause* FABulous! And piratey.) αgε: (Eh, depending on your race, you can be pretty damn old and still look young, but keep within reason, pirates don't discriminate age as long as your useful.) яαcε: (If your race isn't on the list, be sure to tell me by filling out a form and sending it in!) ρσsιтιση: (what position, or main occupation, do you have on the ship?) тαℓεηтs: (What talents do you have that make you unique to the ship? Good at fighting? What kind of fighting? You re a pirate now, have some spunk and be quirky with this one. Keep within reason!) ρεяsσиαℓιту: ( What are you like? Have any quirks? How do you get along with people. Likes and Dislikes! Put in full sentences, no first person p.o.v.) вισ: (What we're mainly looking for here is a little bit of standard background, like what country your native to and stuff, and then how you came to be part of the ship. I'm by no means trying to be mean when I say this, but I'm a little tired of reading about tragic rape histories and abused slave stuff. It gets kind old... be creative when your writing about your past!) ριcтυяε: (What you look like, remember to make it coincide with your race! Link it.) υsεя ηαмε: (duh.)
*Notes*
>Hybrids are welcome, but pay attention to relationships between races. You'd never see a pixie vampire, or a dark elf light elf mix. If your not sure, consult the race list.
> You characters race should also be closely related to what your character is like, and the history. Remember the warning in the laws; you are what you are so act accordingly. We don't want your very character in itself to be a walking ooc. This also means that you have to be extra careful about it if your character is a hybrid.

This is where we keep a list of our crew and positions that need filled. What positions the crewies already have, their race, what they do around the ship, who've they been with or are with, their past, and a picture of them. Yeah, we pirates are just a bunch of gossiping grandmas. So what?
Here is a list of positions that you may apply for. More may be added to compensate for extra members.
[Captain: Caelum] [First Mate] [Cook: Dakuoburibasudoragonshido] [Navigator: xokolade] [Doctor: katty_angel] [Engineer/Repairman:Lucretia] [Mage: GoldenSparrow] [Fighter:XLily_Of_The_ValleyX] [Fighter:Remilia Sct]
иαмε: Calcifer Leon Scryhart αgε: 23 яαcε: Light Elf/Djinn hybrid (Or so it is said.) ρσsιтιση: The bloody Captain тαℓεηтs: Thief like capabilities, proficiency in hand to hand combat, decent marksmanship. ρεяsσиαℓιту: The quirkiest personality you'll ever meet. He has difficulties explaining things in a straightforward manner, so it takes some getting used to to understand what he's saying half the time. He has a tendency to pick up "strays" off of the street so it's not uncommon to see a random face or two upon the Nonamia. He has a soft spot for children and cats. He can be eager to do good but tries to do good deeds in a completely unconventional manner. He can often times be cryptic and mysterious as per his light elf nature. He loves music and laughter, a result of his Gypsy heritage.
It is rumored that sometimes the Captain seems completely different from his usual stature at certain times of the year or even at completely random times and disappears not long after. He sometimes doesn't show up for months. He seems borderline cruel and introverted, doing erratic things at his own whim. His magical capabilities increase. The main indication of change is that his eye colors change, and he speaks in a straightforward and serious manner. No one except perhaps his bonded pixie knows what truly lies beneath the surface of the happy go lucky captain. вισ: Calcifer hails from the heart of Gambino to a band of gypsy thieves. His light elf mother only stayed for the first five years of his life before disappearing. Already accustomed to the gypsy way, Calcifer did not miss his mother as much as a normal child would. His "big sisters" took great care of him, teaching him the ways of survival in the greatest yet most harsh marketplace of Gaia. The gypsies traveled all over Gambino, always joking that Calcifer was the son of a djinn. He didn't mind, and enjoyed the stories of the great djinn gods that the gypsies worshiped. He spent his days happily playing pickpocket games with the other gypsy boys that his family came across. It was then that he coincedentally met his mage Charlotte. It was also when he was ten years old that he met his bonded pixie.
His family happened to set up a tarot tent near the harbor of Gambino, where love struck sailors came to ask if their crushes loved them back. It was there that an old woman lay starving on a street corner in the middle of the night. (What Calcifer was up and about for thst late no one will ever know.) And it also happened to be where the drunks meandered. They started picking on the wounded woman, and Calcifer not being one to avoid a skirmish had dived headlong into the fight. (The spirit of a true Gambinian already ran thick through his soul) Although drunk, the five men overpowered the 10 year old eventually, and as he stood in front of the woman with fists raised, he was still beaten badly. It appeared as if it was the end of the line for the future captain when the hulking leader of the group took a swing at his face. Calcifer's eyes flashed momentarily red, but before he knew it someone had grasped his already long ponytail and yanked him backward. Imagine his surprise when the homeless woman used the opportunity she created to kiss the child on the lips. A flash of light blinded him as he continued to fall backwards. In a split second the old woman was replaced by a mischievous looking recovered pixie. It was odd for the young child to see through his own eyes what was happening, but even worse still to be switching back and forth in between someone elses point of view which seemed to be happening.
Needless to say, the drunks were quickly taken care of by the mysterious being. Calcifer never asked who or what had injured the pixie and simply accepted that she had needed his help as much as he needed hers that night. It was the only logical choice to bond, so that she could draw upon his strength to live as much as he himself wanted to live. The only knowledge that he had was that she was terribly injured on the verge of death, and that in surviving they we stuck together for life. Of course, he was only 10 at the time. What did he care? ριcтυяε: Calcifer Scryhart υsεя ηαмε: Caelum Lupus
иαмε: Yulan Mathais αgε: 17 яαcε: Skorne (Purist) ρσsιтιση: Cook тαℓεηтs: Yulan is an above average cook, having worked in some very fine restaurants whilst living in Aekea. He has a fondness for spice and his food seldom lacks it. He is also highly skilled with spears, tridents, and most other pole-arms. Yulan usually carries a spear around that he claimed from a Skorne Elementalist in a gentleman’s duel. ρεяsσиαℓιту: Yulan is a very stubborn man. He takes offense easily and will act somewhat rashly. He really enjoys cooking. His skills have landed him many high paying jobs, but his attitude has caused him to lose countless others. He is somewhat of local legend in Aekea, but most restaurants won’t hire him for fear of having to pay the damages that Yulan is likely to make. Yulan has an extreme distaste for magic, which borders on paranoia. Overall he’s just one big powder keg waiting for the next little spark to cause a severe (if not costly) explosion. вισ: Yulan was born in Aekea to a pair of wealthy Skorne Purist parents. He had a great love for machines and swordplay, but eventually became a cook. He loved to eat and enjoyed the flavor of spices such as saffron, cloves, and cinnamon. Going off to culinary school, Yulan met many young cooks hailing from all known lands of Gaia. Feeling a great deal of mistrust for some of his fellow students (mostly those of Elven decent), he made few bonds and remained isolated from the most of the class. Graduating from culinary school, Yulan worked at several small-name restaurants. Eventually a food critic came down to taste some of Yulan’s food and was … well … astonished. After some good press Yulan found himself working at many prestigious restaurants. Albeit a very talented cook, Yulan had a severe “people problem” which has landed him into his current situation. Signing on as the cook for a pirate airship, Yulan hopes to make his name once again, but much to his own personal horror, the airship happens to be powered and defended by magic. Despite this Yulan refuses to back out and hopes to make up for the crews reliance on magic with some good old fashioned grub. He’s not terribly happy about the situation, but of course beggars can’t be choosers … at least that’s what he’s been told ... ριcтυяε: Your New Cook υsεя ηαмε: Dakuoburibasudoragonshido
иαмε: Atlanta Thalassa αgε: 21 in human years, 18 in mermaid years due to their strange lifespan яαcε: Mermaid ρσsιтιση: Navigator, Treasurer** тαℓεηтs: Atlanta's not much of a fighter as per her mermaid lineage, but knows how to use a bayonet and water magic (though limited strictly near water, since she's not yet advanced enough to pull water vapor from the air). When confronted however, she tends to duck out behind a bigger teammate and wait it out, or ends up being captured.
As the navigator, she prefers to use older technology such as the ancient compass and an improved astrolabe, courtesy of the ship's engineer. Whenever around the sea or god forbid the ship crashed in the middle of the ocean, her natural instinct tells her exactly where to head for the nearest island or mermaid cove.
Her secondary use on the ship is the treasurer. Atlanta's family is the longest standing jewelers in the seas, doing business with mer-royalty and even the kings of the land. With eyes trained to pick out even the smallest of defects, she quality-checks all bounty and payment the crew receives, and inventories their booty.
ρεяsσиαℓιту: Atlanta is known mostly for her extreme obsession with jewelry and pearls—pearls being a sign of high stature in merpeople culture, and tends to come off as a bit greedy and narrow minded, leading to her being mostly unaware of anything else. However, just like other mermaids, this is a deceiving tactic to lower others’ guards. After being away from water for an extended period of time, she begins to turn irritable and develops cabin fever when in the skies, but a bottle of water is enough to calm her down. After being captured and assaulted by fault of her gullible and pacifist nature, Atlanta has lost more of her original peppy quality in exchange for a realistic (if not downer) outlook, but tries not to rain on parades too much. She hates cowards and people who don’t try at all.
вισ: Born to a family of jewelers deep in the sea off of the coast of Gambino, Atlanta grew up in a high caste, cultured to take over her family’s monopoly and mingle with gaudy women. She naturally took to her profession, and developed a connection to her signature accessory: pearls. On her 16th mer-birthday (18th in human terms), she was entrusted with her family’s two most treasured heirlooms, the Sisters of the Sea, the two largest and strangely colored pearls ever found, and rumored to provide the Thalassa family with its absurd luck in business. Shortly after receiving the precious stones, the celebration was attacked and in a storm, the cerulean sister was stolen, leaving Atlanta with only the scarlet sister. Knowing that it was now her sworn duty to watch over the two pearls, Atlanta left on a quest with Ampoti, the red pearl, to search for Roi, the blue pearl. Her only clue, left after the counter strike took action, was a torn piece of cloth with an insignia.
At the beginning of her quest, Atlanta immediately went to the pirates, knowing they would have more information on nefarious thieves, but being naïve about the world, ended up being kidnapped for her rarity and the numerous pearls strung on her person. Beaten by her captors, she nearly gave up hope, believing her life was forfeit, when a mysterious man with a similar insignia to that on the cloth appeared and rescued her. He left just as quickly as he came; leaving her with only a pistol and a paper that read, “Try harder.” Determined to find this man and discover his connection to the thief, Atlanta trained herself to handle her weapon and became a swash-buckler herself.
After two years of intense journeys with other ships, she now walks up to the docking station of the Lady Nonamia…

иαмε: Marina αgε: Not one to care about her age, Marina has no idea how old she is. She is ancient by pixie terms though. яαcε: Water Pixie ρσsιтιση: Ship Doctor тαℓεηтs: Whether it be from her age or her reigning element, Marina's pixie dust has crystallized. Her crystals are not quite like their nature-counterpart and as such, the pixie can manipulate them to do extraordinary things. More malleable when in pixie form, she uses her crystals then to heal. (They are formed inside the injured, purifying poisons and closing skin and tissue and bone alike. It's extremely painful - but that's what the Ship Mage's assistance is there for.)
Marina also is able to change her size and become "human". Her crystals are harder to manipulate in this form, and, as such, she can only use her crystals as weapons then. (Which she only does when in very dire times.)
As well, it seems Marina has actual medical training - and uses it when in human form. Crew members have often wondered when and where she acquired the skills, but all are too hesitant to ask given her relationship with the Captain. And it's not like Marina is spilling either. ρεяsσиαℓιту: Marina has lived for a very long time. She may look young, but she is still an old woman. As such, much of her mischievousness has dwindled. It still shows up now and again, but those who have spent some time with her know that weariness and cynicism has set in. Marina has become almost still - like an undisturbed body of water. The pixie is calm and collected. Which is just as well, considering who she has to watch over.
Still, being bound to the Captain has revitalized her, and not just in power and youth. His "happy-go-lucky" attitude is affectuous and has lifted some of the "age" off of her personality. It has brought back her light-heartedness. She laughs more easily, and is always smiling and happy in his presence. Marina is a bit over-protective of him though. But, it's quite clear she loves him greatly. вισ: Marina has never cared when she was born or where. For all she knows, she could have been born at the bottom of the bloody ocean! Her earlier years are completely forgotten, unable to recall over the long passage of her epoch. Time is inconsequential to her, living as long as she has. And Marina has lived a very, very long time. To her fellow pixies who are her elemental kin, she had been revered and sometimes even worshipped. Time can be a very powerful ally to a pixie. Marina can’t quite share that sentiment – having experienced it firsthand. She never felt that just because she had seen so much, lived so long, she must be special. It’s complete bollocks.
It was probably this attitude that drew Marina away from her pixie brethren and pushed her into the world of the larger kind. By this time, she had gained enough strength and knowledge to alter her size – and keep that form easily. Her powers were sorely weakened in this state, hard to control, so Marina began to amass expertise that were needed to survive as one of the larger kind. And then she began to learn some really interesting skills – because she was bored, and it seemed like fun. (This is around the time Marina got her medical training.) Once she felt confident in her abilities as a “human”, the woman became a drifter, her fleeting nature needing to continuously flow in new environments. Although, even in this form, Marina continued to live longer than everyone she came to meet. After a while, she stopped forming attachments to others. Then, she stopped living life as carefree as she had before.
Eventually, Marina just stopped doing much of anything...
She had become so, so old that even her larger form had aged considerably. No longer did she look like the whimsical and mischievous woman she had been. Marina was tired, weary. Life had become droll and cumbersome. Marina fell into a kind of depression, finding that doing much of anything too much effort. She stopped eating and drinking, and weakening – she became unable to keep her larger form and reverted back to her smaller, pixie form (something she hadn’t done in many decades). It was this reason that she was found.
Before Marina had begun to live her life as one of the larger kind, pixies of considerably age were considered almost sacred. It seemed, in the long passing of time, this sentiment was not shared now. In her larger form, the presence of her ancientness was dulled, but back in her pixie form – even greatly weakened from age – her powers were noticed by those looking. Pixie dust was nothing compared to the essence of an ancient – or so the rumours claimed. Whether there was any substance to the rumours of draining the life force of an ancient pixie to gain considerable youth and powers, it didn’t matter to those that attacked her. Even in the state she was in, Marina’s instincts would not allow her to lay there and die. She fought, and escaped. But, they were relentless.
With the last of the strength she could muster, Marina turned back into her larger form – her appearance now of an old woman. This act granted her the chance to finally escape her pursuers. However, injured, extremely weakened, and haven’t had any kind of nourishment in weeks, Marina could do nothing more than lie in an alleyway – dying. And then, to make matters worse, she drew the attention of some drunks and, because humanity could be so cruel, they began to pick on her – fully intending to hurt her. Knowing what was to come, and too weak to do anything about it, Marina just accepted her fate, her death. But, she would have never expected for what to come next. A young light elf jumped in front of her, the boy ready to defend her. Now, Marina had already accepted her death, but she did not wish for the one standing up for her to go through that. He had so much life to still live!
So, there was no hesitation when she pulled the boy by his hair into her lap – kissing him on the lips to bind herself fully and completely to him. After all, she had lived for so long already, Marina didn’t care she would die when he did. All she was thinking about was protecting him. (Which was rather short-sighted of her, considering they would be stuck together.) Now revitalized, the pixie had no trouble defeating those drunkards. Them both alive and well, Marina no longer cared what the consequences would be. This boy – this Calcifer – would be the reason she would continue to live – and she would protect him with all her newly strengthened might. ριcтυяε: Pixie Form "Human" Form υsεя ηαмε: katty_angel
иαмε:Altierre LaFey αgε: Altierre does not keep track of his age, however he is probably around twelve or thirteen in human ages. Though that does not mean much since he is not a human and is a pixie instead. яαcε: Pixie (Element-Fire) ρσsιтιση: Engineer тαℓεηтs: Because Altierre has memory loss, he compensates by trying to memorize as much as possible and because of this has tons of random facts sticking in his head that he will randomly spout. Sometimes these facts are useful, sometimes they are not. However Altierre’s main talents are imagination and the ability to fix or create anything. Because of this Altierre comes up with the oddest contraptions and weapons and is a master at setting and using traps in battle. They also have a little too much love for fire power so sometimes these contraptions end up in explosions, but only sometimes. To go along with this skill in craftsmanship, Altierre also has a high level of intelligence. It would be higher if he did not keep forgetting random things due to his memory impairment. ρεяsσиαℓιту: A hyper brat is probably the best way to describe Altierre. Though by brat I don’t mean the bad kind of term for brat as in a kid who is pretty obnoxious, I just mean brat in the way that Altierre is a kid. So someone gave them too much red bull or whatever the pirate equivalent is of that since wings aren’t the most helpful thing you’d need on the sea. But you get the idea. On top of being completely hyper, Altierre also loves anything with sugar in it just adding to their hyperness. They are an energetic individual and not so much insane as just very crazy. Always smiling and being very optimistic, Altierre means good in whatever they do but when someone accidently steps on a trap because they walked in the wrong place, Altierre is probably to blame for leaving the trap there in the first place. Appearing to everyone who does not know him as an air head, Altierre is very perceptive; the problem is that whatever Altierre finds out is forgotten the next day due to his memory loss. Naïve as soon as he forgets what he was supposed to remember, they really are a spritely (no pun intended) individual who will always help out someone out no matter who they are. However if there is one thing that Altierre cannot stand it is pessimism and he usually deals with pessimism in the way that all small hyper children deal with it. By hitting the person (usually in the face) who causes that pessimism). вισ: Altierre has short term loss making remembering specifics about his family and life very difficult. He keeps a journal to make sure he does not forget anything important and memorizes books to try and remember certain facts. However Altierre does remember a bit and for the most part his life was pretty normal. He lived most of his life with his older sister who was actually human and not another pixie. Obviously they were not related but Altierre was not bothered by this fact. He had always had this odd love for fixing things. However though Altierre loved the sea he had to get his sister to help him overcome his fear of swimming because well Altierre was a fire pixie and fire pixies are not too keen on water. It is not that they cannot go in the water it’s just an irrational fear. This was a problem because Altierre and his sister lived in a fishing port and his sister had a ship to go shipping in which was how she paid to get them food. After this Altierre does not remember anything about his life until he started writing it down. One day there was a particularly bad storm and Altierre did not want his sister go out in the bad weather though he knew she would so he went out in the boat instead of her. And got completely and utterly lost. After a particularly big wave and a broken ship Altierre ended up lost and trying to swim back to…well anywhere that was land really. Altierre did eventually find land after passing out and not knowing where he was. His first thought was to go find his sister however there was just one issue. He could not remember where he had come from or what his sister’s name was or what she looked like. Not really sure what to do Altierre kind of wandered around for a while trying to work out what on earth to do with his life and whether it was worth to get a job or wander aimlessly looking for his sister. He finally settled on looking for his sister and getting a job at the same time. That was when Altierre found the ship and the rest of the crew and we can go from there. ριcтυяε:I'll get a better picture later υsεя ηαмε: Lucretia Inferno
иαмε: Charlotte "The Basilisk" Smithe, but her mates only call her Char, or occasionally Basi. αgε: 24 яαcε: Human ρσsιтιση: Mage тαℓεηтs: Her charm and hypnotic abilities go hand in hand; with a single glance into their eyes, Char can paralyze anyone she wishes, similar to the Basilisk, though the victims don't turn into stone. This paralysis is not painful, nor is it permanent, but it is frightening, for the victim cannot move or speak until she releases them. Usually it's enough to scare them away, but if it isn't, she can hypnotize them into committing suicide. Her hypnotic powers do not always work, especially if those she wishes to attack already know of her abilities, and so then avoid making eye contact. Her weakness is rodents - if she sees even the tail of a live mouse, her basilisk-like abilities will shut down. Because of this, she adores cats, makes sure there are always a few on the ship, and occasionally brings back another when at port. ρεяsσиαℓιту: Char is every bit a normal woman, if a little dark, when not on a mission. She enjoys the lovely things in life, like silken fabrics, the wind through her hair, and, of course, jewels. She likes to help wherever she can, which is often alongside the doctor, hypnotizing patients into thinking they're not in pain. When angered or made sad (and she tends to act the same way for both) she, like the basilisk, will leave a venomous trail in her wake. (Not literally, but if one comes too close to her when in this state, they will feel it mentally, like a hot sizzling in their brain). Her charm and beauty allows her to make people - especially men - bend to her every need, should she ask. They often forces men to drool over her, as well, and she likes the attention, unless it's from her ship mates, which are more like family to her. вισ: Char was orphaned as a baby when she accidently paralyzed her mother for a few days. Her parents, frightened of this devil child, left her in the care of the gypsies, who seemed more equipped to raise her. With the help of her new family, she learned to control her abilities. When she grew older, though, Char felt less like she was destined to live out her life as a gypsy, and so chose Lady Nonamia to be her new home, partly because of her nomadic lifestyle, and partly because of the strong family orientation grown into her by the gypsies. Unlike some of the crew, Char has no problem being bound to the ship - that is how dedicated she truly is. ριcтυяε: The Basilisk υsεя ηαмε: GoldenSparrow
иαмε: "Lucky" Lucas Clarke, can be known as Lucky or Luc (LOOC) αgε: 25 яαcε: Human ρσsιтιση: Fighter тαℓεηтs: He can charm the skin off the snake, and isn't too bad at good old hand-to-hand combat. He's lived in all the major countries, so he's got a pretty good knowledge of some of the people there should it come in handy. ρεяsσиαℓιту: Luc's a charming little bugger, that's for sure. He's also a big flirt with the ladies, but's the first to balk whenever things get too 'serious'. Although he does his work diligently, he does come off as the 'lazy' one on the ship. This is true on one account, he would prefer an easy Class C mission than a Class A, except when pretty women were involved. However, he's more than happy to go on Class A whenever he's traveling with one of his crewmates. He gets along with them pretty well, due to his breezy and laughing nature. He's here to live life and enjoy it. вισ: Lucky Lucas was born in Durem, and had a mother, a fathere, an upper-middle-class house, and no siblings. He lived a life of luxury until he was fourteen, his parents partook in no shadier dealings than some light gambling once in a while, and Luc wouldn't have dreamed of commiting a crime. However, his father left suddenly to Bassken Lake. Granted, Luc never really went to extreme means to find out why, but he figured it was either a gambling loss, owing money to the wrong vampire, or having a fling with a dark elf. However, with his father's job gone, Luc's mother was pulling sixteen, twenty hour shifts.
During those four years, Luc would wake up, swindle a few coins off a tourist, then meet up with his mates and get into trouble for the day. At night, he'd either be carted home or he'd sneak home, and that was that. However, when he was eighteen, his mother became worryingly ill. She had to leave her job, and Luc started to sell his belongings slowly to pay for both the home and his mother's medicine, and when that ran out, so did the medicine. His mother died, and Luc still misses her. After her death, Luc realized that he didn't really want to stay in Durem anymore, so he sold the house. For six months, he lived in Bassken Lake with his ailing father while he got on his feet, then set on a trading route between Aekea and Durem, selling fake artifacts with a smile. This he did for about two years. Afterwards, people got wind that Lucky the Merchant wasn't so honest and his business plunged, so he moved to Gambino and did some less than legal dealings.
Gambino was probably where Lucas learned to streetfight, and he learned it well. However, after half a year, he grew tired of the 'fight or be fought' mentality of many citizens in Gambino, so he left. He harbors no ill feelings towards Gambino, it's a great place to weekend in and earn a bunch of currency, but it's a tiring place to live for someone like Lucas. Afterwards, he 'retired' to Barton, setting up a small stall and sold his fake artifacts until he noticed the pirates. They fascinated him, and he resolved to join. The one that took his interest particularly was Lady Nonamia and her crew, and he worked with them on a few occasions. One day, a fight broke out and a fighter of the Nonamia was killed. Luc saw his chance, but kept his mouth shut until th Nonamia was ready to leave. Smiling, he approached the captain and asked if they needed a fighter. After a few missions and conversations, he was appointed as a full fledged fighter at the Nonamia. He's very attached to the ship, like most of the crew. ριcтυяε: Lucky Luc υsεя ηαмε: XThe_Lily_Of_The_ValleyX
иαмε: Gail of Senya αgε: 16 яαcε: Human! ρσsιтιση: Fighter тαℓεηтs: She doesn't have POWERS, per se. she instead has a coat which carries at most 20 weapons that she can quickly interchange at any time. Axes, bows, swords, and even shields go in there, and she knows how to use all of them. Her unorthodox style also confuses enemies greatly. ρεяsσиαℓιту: Sharp as a razor, she is about as aggressive as they come. She comes off as incredibly arrogant and even at times a bully. Often times, she will get into trouble with her sharp wit and her even sharper weapons. Her soft side? PSH. She honestly doesn't have one and when she's forced to use it, she really isn't any good at it. However, her leadership is unquestionable. She can rally with the best of them, and has a quality that attracts people... whether the other qualities outweigh this one, we don't know.
She loves to eat. Food food food is her love and she will go to it when she feels sad, angry, happy, or any other emotion other than bloodlust. She also likes vintage or downright old things. Oh, and new weapons. Those too. вισ: Gail was born in a royal family. Let's put it this way: She was a complete tomboy. When other royal girls her age were having tea parties, she was beating on boys bigger than she was for that last piece of chocolate cake. Trained early to fight instead of talk, she naturally picked up eloquent speech, and was pegged as a leader from her very first "war" involving pillows and a girls vs boys mentality.
However, her overly violent attitude was... concerning. As she got more and more interested in weaponry, she insisted to be taught in use of every single weapon. This caused her to become incredibly dangerous, even to the royal family. Threats of death were uttered by her frequently, and she had the skills to do it. The incident leading to her coming to THIS ship?
It was a bright sunny day... and Gail was bored. Gail wanted to fight randomly, and so she assembled the 100 finest men in her kingdom to challenge her. By sundown, 100 men were crumbled on the floor, all of them panting and wondering how they got beat by a girl... Their steel weapons useless against her weapons of dense bronze. She'd be using her titanium, but then she'd definitely have killed them.
This resulted in expulsion from the royal family! She had to go find work elsewhere and with her special armory-coat, as she liked to call it, she could easily find it... hold them to crossbow-point and make them give you work! ριcтυяε: υsεя ηαмε: Goaltender Remilia

Okay, thats the general outlook of my idea at the moment. I'm giving credit to Alala who originally created this Rp, but made it so much more detailed and complicated. This is my version. Even though its not completed as of now because I'm tired and hada rough day, I really want feedback on what everyones thinks, because you guys are going to be the ones to be playing in the world too. I'm going to try my best to finish it tomorrow, but it might not happen. Too many RL complications might prevent me =_=;; Let the flaming commence! *cuts ribbon*

I definitely like the idea. And, if we do this right, this has probably the biggest potential of all the roleplays I've seen come and go. C:

Thanks! It was originally an rp meant to have to capability to traverse into other rps. In theory we would fly our ship in the world of the other rps, and have an adventure there. I figured that would get complicated with having a ton of our own other characters in one place, so I just left that out. The theory though is good in my opinion. I've got almost everything filled out except the races list needs a bit more, and so does the land information, and the bounty wall needs filling, but I'm almost done! whee
