What're your favorite David Bowie music videos? I know that if you don't have Best of Bowie or VH1 classic or some miraculous supply to music videos off the internet, you might not have ever seen/might not remember any Bowie music videos, but it's worth a shot, right?

My personal favorite is probably Life on Mars?. It's so simple. Bowie in awesome makeup. White background. Lots of close-ups on those fantastic Bowie eyes <3.... Of course, it doesn't hurt that Life on Mars? is one of my top ten favorite David Bowie songs.

If you want some choices or something, try going to www.youtube.com and putting "David Bowie" in the search. The quality is usually crap, but there are some decent ones like Jump They Say, The Heart's Filthy Lesson, a partial (they cut off a few lines from the beginning) of Life on Mars?, and some fun stuff like the Bing Crosby/David Bowie duet on Little Drummer Boy, a few pieces of Grey Whistle Test footage, and some in-concert thingies. Yes. Thingies. It's a technical term.

I really liked Ashes to Ashes. A bit creepy but I don't have much access to his stuff. I'm far too busy to watch things. sweatdrop

Ashes to Ashes honestly freaked me out.

And, another thing, has anyone (who's seen the Bowie music videos) noticed that in quite a few of them there are the same motions? Ashes to Ashes has the people following David reaching to the ground, and it repeats in a few others that I can't name right now (I'll watch the DVD again and list them accurately later on). Then, in the newer videos like Fame '90, David's doing some weird hand gestures that look like some sort of sign language. He repeats these (or parts of these) in Heart's Filthy Lesson (I think) and a few others. Once again, I'll list these later when I watch the discs again.

If you have the Best of Bowie DVD and pay attention, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Life on Mars. Hands down one of the coolest videos by anyone ever. IMO.

I certainly agree. The bands of today need to take a note from Bowie: Simplicity is good. All these "wtf?" music videos flying around these days are rather annoying.

Although, Bowie made quite a few "wtf?" music videos like Little Wonder and Dead Man Walking. These were 90's Bowie vids, though, and you know the 90's. All obsessed with weirdness and special effects. I think David just sort of jumped on that bandwagon.

I like all those videos mentioned abouve but the other one I like is his video for "Space Oddity." Not overly complex and hard to understand, just a good ol' video like god intended them to be

Heart's Filthy Lesson and Strangers When We Meet are awesome.
Then again, I'm Afraid of Americans rocks AND has Trent Razor as the psycho Johnny with the gun heart whee Bowie's still hotter (and anyone who doesn't think so, that's just sad) but Trent Razor's cool too.

I LOVE Heart's Filthy Lesson's video.... but, come on, you have to love Dancing in the Street, just for the adorable looks he gives Mick Jagger....

I love Drive in Saturday. I don't know why, but I just absolutely love it. Maybe it's Bowie's makeup- I think that's the best 'makeupped' Bowie, in my opinion. I love David without the makeup, though. He's naturally pretty. <3

I've never understood why so many people hated that music video... Maybe it's because I have a crush on both Bowie and Mick Jagger (don't be shocked. I think I automatically develop a crush on any vaguely handsome guy with a rock band and a British accent)... I think it just looked like the two of them were having fun, with all the facing Bowie was making... or they were drunk. ;D

That music video should be horrible, but for some strange reason it isn't, it's actually lots of fun.
