Chapter Twenty: A Guild Master’s Rage
It was quiet in the woods, Solaris slipped along past the trees with Glacia at his side. He was worried, stressed over the past events. War was eminent. Teacher would not back down and Solaris would not submit. He doubted the other guilds would submit either.
“Solaris. I asked you to take a walk with me to help you clear your head. Your not clearing it.” The Delcatty purred and her Espeon mate gave a sheepish smile.
“Sorry dear. You know how I am…”
“Yes.” She replied, stepping up next to him and rasping a tongue over his ear. “My worrywart.”
The insult was coupled with a purr of affection and he didn’t take it badly. It was true. He was a worrywart.
“I suppose we’d best head back. Blade will have my hide when he founds out we snuck away without informing anyone.”
Which, in hindsight, was possibly very foolish as Solaris should have known better.
“Oh yes~ Scurry back to your guild, guild master.” A voice mocked from above and both Solaris and Glacia cast their eyes upward in alarm to see the slick black outline of some Pokemon perched in the branches just overhead.
“Who are you?! Show yourself!” The Espeon hissed, nudging his mate behind him.
Two piercing burgundy-colored eyes sparkled back at him before they vanished and a soft thud informed him that the owner of those cruel eyes had dropped to the ground behind them.
He whirled around, coming face to face with the strangest Umbreon he’d ever seen.
Oddly enough, his first thought was whether or not Xavier had any kin in this area, for the Dark type bore Houndoom anklets and a skull chocker. Her rings were dark pink, as was the strange jewel on her forehead. One ear lay flat against her head, while the other was perked upright and strangely resembled a Sneasel’s ear feather.
“Who…are you?” The sun guild master asked once more and received a brilliant smile in reply.
“I was once called another name. A name my parents chose for me, but my mother is dead and my father will soon join her. So I have decided to name myself. A name worthy of what I can accomplish, of what I am meant to be. I am the feeling you get when your lost. I am the nightmares that haunt your day. I am all that hisses and creaks in the night. I am Fear and Fear is my name…”
As she spoke the Umbreon lowered to a crouch and began to advance forward. Solaris backed up, pushing Glacia behind him as he moved when she suddenly screeched.
‘There are more of them!’ He thought in horror, turning to rescue his mate from the Absol that had appeared and pulled her away but in doing so he turned his back to Fear and she leapt onto him, pinning him to the ground.
“Teacher informed me not to kill you. He said he needs you to deliver a message to the guilds and he also doesn’t want you to miss the grand finale that’s to come. The world will burn, he says. There is nothing you can do to stop the God of Destruction’s awakening. It will happen, and you all will die.”
Solaris hissed, claws scrambling on the ground in an attempt to break free but Fear raised a paw and pressed it down on the back of his neck, cutting off his air.
“…deliver the message, Solaris. Tell your allies that this is war. But do not worry, we will help you to inform them of just how serious we are. You wont leave unscathed…but your mate wont leave at all. I was only told to let you live. So enjoy watching her throat cut open…”
The Umbreon hooked a paw around the Espeon’s neck and lifted his head so his gaze was directed toward the Absol that was pinning Glacia to the ground with one huge claw.
“Don’t…don’t do this…Please….”
“Finish her, Misery.”
“NO!”
The Absol raised his free leg and brought those sharp black claws down with a sickening slice.
The Espeon’s anguished cry filled the woods, coupled with the insane laughter of this Umbreon who claimed her name was Fear.
When actually it was Lily. Lily Firebrand.

Solaris---Selena---Orion---Jasper
"..and that is why we're preparing for the worst for this Teacher fellow." Selena finished explaining, trotting along next to the one eyed Raichu who was glowering at the floor.
He would have preferred hearing this from Solaris, but the damn Espeon chose this time to go for a walk. So he had to settle for the Bitchbreon.
Trotting behind the two, Orion shuffled along happily, his tail swishing as he practically skipped. The old Espeon was needlessly peppy.
It made Jasper's fur itch just watching him. Ugh.
A loud squawk from the Swellow sentry outside alerted them that Solaris had returned from his stroll, but another more alarmed cry followed this.
Jasper didnt wait to see if Selena of the old guild master would follow, but dashed out the door.
Solaris stumbled along up the path to the guild, eyes wide and haunted. A small trail of blood followed along behind him, his dragging tail painting a straight line in his wake.
"Solaris!" The Umbreon appeared at the door and rushed forward but her brother shouldered past her and kept walking.
"Wait! What happened?! Where's Glacia?!" Solaris gave no reply, his eyes burned with anger.
His back was heavily scarred and his forehead gem was missing, having been ripped out. One of his two forked tails was also gone, leaving his tail a single slender appendage.
The guild master limped to the alarm bell and struck it with a sudden vengeance.
The sound echoed loud, ringing in his ears.

   .::Stark - Rem - Luna::.Stark was teaching Luna to cook when he heard it- the alarm bell. Stark suddenly felt a sick pit form in his stomach. Danger sense, he noted. Something horrible had happened. He turned quickly, worry evident on his face. "Rem!" he called, but the Nincada was already moving. Stark started to follow, then looked back at Luna. The Mudkip obviously knew something was wrong. Stark turned back, and set Luna down on their bed. "Stay here, Luna," he commanded, a bit forcefully to convey the urgency. Luna wore a look of confusion. "Daddy? Wha' hap?""Please, Luna. Just stay here. Everything will be fine. I promise." He hugged her briefly before running out of the room, making sure it was locked behind him. He ran as fast as he could to the main hall, the sick feeling growing worse as he did. Something horrible, he thought grimly, running all the faster for it. Finally, Stark reached the hall, Rem buzzing silently by the entry. Stark looked into the hall, where a group of Pokemon- what was that b***h Selena doing here??- huddled around something. Stark moved forward tentatively. "Arceus help us," muttered Rem as Stark passed. As Stark approached the huddle, he saw why. "Oh, Arceus! Guildmaster!!" he cried, running to the Espeon's side. He looked over the freshly made scars on the Espeon's body. Funny, how we look alike, now, he thought insanely as he looked over the wounded Espeon. "Guildmaster... what is it? What's wrong?"

    Lucy---&--- Spike---&--- Leslie---&--- NicoOf course, Lucy was on the scene.
"s**t, is it time alrea- Oh, Arceus..." She said softly, staring at Solaris.
What the hell had happened...?
Spike also arrived, having been ready for this fight for a long time.
"Cannon's all ready, and Scar helped me build an auto-lock on it," He said with a smirk.
Another face also arrived.
One that had been seemingly absent for a while now.
Leslie the Luxray silently padded his way into view, standing protectively by Selena's side.
"I'm here..." He purred softly.
A nearby window then shattered.
"Seriously, can't you guys leave a key under the doormat or something?" Nico said with a groan as he crawled through the window.
Leslie let out an angry roar, wanting to protect Selena from Nico, but Spike put his paw on Leslie's shoulder and shook his head.
"The a*****e's with us, this time," The Absol explained.
Leslie backed down, but still kept those piercing green eyes on the evil Weavile.  Siggy---&--- Maxi"Al-RIGHT! It's time to get to work! An wen kann ich braten u heute?"
Siggy, from Team Cannibal, entered the area, rotating his arm around as an exercise.
The Typhlosion looked around, a seemingly sad scene before him.
"... The ******** I miss?"
Standing behind Siggy, in the large Pokemon's shadow, stood a small Croagunk.
Two lazy eyes glanced around, unblinking.
"..."

  Suki & Kai & Luna & GarySuki led her teammates, floating swiftly to the scene, with Kaiyou and Luna racing hot on her heels.
Gary clung to Kai's back, his round, blank eyes staring into space.
As the Ghost spotted Solaris, she paused with a sharp cry of dismay, Luna crashing into her.
"What the hell, Suk-OH ARCEUS...." The Marowak's tone changed from angry to horrified in a split second, and Kaiyou pulled up just next to his feminine teammates, his eyes wide with shock. "...Where's Glacia?" The Marshtomp's tone was concerned.
The trio went dead silent with realization of the fury in Solaris' eyes, and Gary, still clinging to Kai's back, let out a depressed yawn; his way of showing sorrow.

Solaris---Selena---Orion---Jasper
Solaris dipped his head in silence, awaiting everyone to arrive. When it became clear that they had he glanced up, eyes burning red.
"...we...are at war with the Guild of Rebirth. They have thrown the first punch and we will retaliate. I have sent the sentries to carry this news to the other guilds. I wont lie to you...some of us will not survive this. Leave now if you've no heart for battle! But if you stay, then prepare yourselves!"
He roared, his single tail twitching behind him.
Rage swilled around in his chest like a rum drink, burning and sputtering. He'd never known such anger. Of course he was filled with grief. But he would mourn later.
For now...he focused on revenge.
"...If your coming...then let's make haste." He turned and slowly made his way for the door, each step a painful process.
Selena cut him off.
"You're not going out into a fight like that!", but the Espeon ignored her and shoved her aside with a flick of his psychic before strolling out.
Jasper heaved a sigh, glancing at Lucy once before following.
   
Jazz---Taki---Valor---Angel
The second he arrived, Jazz did not pause to examine the scene or even take note that his father was back from wherever he'd vanished too. Instead he went straight to Siggy's side, rubbing against the Typhlosion's leg so he'd know he was there.
Angel followed behind gim with Taki trotting along like the little snob he was at her heels.
Valor remained at the back, he was far too large and feared stepping on some smaller Pokemon.
 
Atticus---Riley
A green and black Houndour dashed in, a Gastly floating along behind him.
Noticing the Espeon's rage as he took off, Atticus was quick to follow.
Oooh, a fight! Excellent!

.::Stark & Rem::.Stark listened to Solaris, his concern growing with each word- as well as his anger. War. A dreadful thing. What had convinced Solaris to set forth such an ultimatum? Stark thought back to his sense of peril earlier. Something horrible... He heard an audible crack beneath his feet, but he paid it no mind. Attacking a Guildmaster- this was inexcusable. Stark stepped forward, righteous anger burning in his eyes. "Guildmaster. Allow me to follow you into battle," he proclaimed, and began following the wounded Espeon out, close by should the Guildmaster fall. Rem followed along, close behind. "War... are we... really going to do this, sir?"Stark turned to his subordinate, a look of sadness in his eyes. "I am, Rem. You're not."Rem stopped, the shock apparent on his face. "B-but, sir! That-- I cannot allow you to do that, sir! We must fight together! You heard Solaris- some of us will not come back!""That's why you have to stay!!" Stark shouted suddenly. Rem flinched back in shock. Stark composed himself before continuing. "If we both go and die, where does that leave Luna? I saved her so she could have a family- not to orphan her once again.""Which is what you'll be doing if you go and die in a foolish war!!""No, Rem. She'll have you, at least- I can't trust anyone else to do that for me. You're not used to battle, Rem- I am. I want you to promise you'll take care of her- in the event I don't return.""But, Stark--""Promise me!!"Rem paused for a moment, then nodded grimly. "I promise. But you'll come back. Promise me."Stark nodded in return. "It's a promise." He then turned, and jogged to keep up with the Guildmaster. Rem turned from the scene, to where Stark had been standing. The ground was cracked horribly, as though some monstrous impact had shattered it. He shook his head sadly. No, Stark. I am not ready to fight. But then, neither are you.He was silent as he hovered back to his team room.

  FlorandraxxxLancerA great gust of wind swept over the gathered Pokemon as Milly descended and landed before slowly navigating her way inside. She'd heard Nico might be here and couldn't resist the temptation to arrive. Holding perfectly still, she let the voices of the Pokemon wash over her until that single distinct one called out. "Nico~" she trilled softly, making her way over to him and trying not to crush any small pokemon beneath her talons. Lancer had gone on a journey for magical weed, hence his disappearance. He was currently smoking some of the stuff but was disappointed at the lack of hallucinations. Walking over to Selena, he raised his free hand in a sort of 'heil' gesture.   SinistradxxxVeronicaSinistrad had had quite enough of Team Amsel's laziness. It was severely cutting into his money gathering and that was a complete offense. So what did he do? Drag most subservient member he could find out with him to do his dirty work. Yup, he was a total b*****d. Veronica happily trotted along behind him, pleased to be out in the sun. It wasn't long though before she noticed that shining golden coat. "Lord Taki!" she squealed, running over and bowing. "I'm terribly sorry it's been so long. Is there anything I can do for you right now?" she asked, tail wagging.

Lucy---&--- Spike---&--- Leslie---&--- NicoLucy frowned and shook her head.
So it was starting.
An all out war.
"Vito can handle the hospital without me. I need to protect my daughter..." She said softly.
She followed behind the guild master, her claws sharpened.
Spike gave a single nod to Solaris.
"I really don't have anything worth living for, anyway," He commented as he followed.
There was no way Leslie would let Selena fight this kind of war on her own, so of course he followed.
Nico gave a smile and jumped up, landing on Milly's back and wrapping his arms around her neck.
"We spill blood today, my sweet~" He sang. Siggy---&--- MaxiSiggy bent down embracing Jazz for a moment.
"Jazzy... I don't think you should come with us this time," The Typhlosion said, pure concern in his voice.
"If anything happened to you, I'd never forgive myself..."
Maxi looked around blankly, and then began to follow the rest of the warriors.

FlorandraxxxLancerMilly's beak curved in a smile. It was nice to feel Nico's warm fur on her cool steel. "Really~? Wonderful." she crooned, letting the Weavile guide her as needed. Lancer took the whole verbal lashing that Selena dished out without blinking an eye. "I vill take that as an 'I missed you.'" he replied. It was nice to be back, he had to admit, and he even had perfect timing. Returning on the cusp of a war? Priceless~ SinistradxxxVeronicaSinistrad rolled his eyes at the glare. Pff, what did that pompous Leafeon care what he did with his members? Okay, so maybe she wasn't his but Auron had gone into a depression lately and didn't seem to be coming out of it any time soon. Veronica's lavender eyes seemed to light up. Oh dear, she'd been so dreadfully frightened he'd be upset with her! Seeing as the question had already been asked, she automatically replied. "Oh, Sinistrad needed me to help him out."It was obvious she was completely oblivious of the danger to come. Bobbing her head, she smiled and said, "Of course, Lord Taki!She simply couldn't have her lordship get that beautiful pelt dirty~

Lucy---&--- Spike---&--- Leslie---&--- NicoLucy was rather nervous.
She never got nervous before.
But she was nervous.
Spike cracked his neck side to side.
"These guys will be nothing but target practice," He said.
Leslie remained close to Selena at all times.
She was his priority.
Nico purred, leaning in close to Milly's face.
"When we're done today... I want to have a child with you..." He whispered. Siggy---&--- MaxiSiggy gave a fake smile as Jazz jumped up onto his shoulder.
"I guess there's no way I can convince you to stay, huh?" He said, looking down.
Fighting with Jazz protecting the guild was one thing, but this was war.
Pokemon were going to die today.
The Typhlosion would much rather die himself than see Jazz perish...
Maxi was following the other Pokemon, not speaking a word.
He then noticed the Toxicroak, Lancer.
Without so much as a word, Maxi walked over to Lancer and looked up at him, his half-closed eyes glistening with curiosity.

While Selena continued to inform Lancer of the goings on, slipping in an occasional snide remarck as she did so, Solaris sat on the ground, tail swishing angrily as he waited. From what that Umbreon told him, they would be here any mo-
A black ball of sludge went hurtling through the air, smacking Jasper upside the head and sending him tumbling back against a rock.
"RAICHU, CORNER POCKET!" A voice called, follower by another and a cackle.
"Nice shot, Pain."
The Raichu began to swear loudly, this was the SIXTH ******** TIME A TOXICROAK HAD SLUDGE BOMBED HIM IN THE FACE!
Solaris' hackles raised, it took all his willpower not to leap into battle at that second.
For a moment it seemed only three Pokemon stood before them, but stretched out behind them as far as the eye could see were countless others.
They were outnumbered drastically.
  
Fear--Pain---Misery
The three Pokemon in the lead were all smirking, and it soon became apparent that the Umbreon standing in the middle was the leader.
"Greetings, Solaris. Have you noticed the other guilds are not here to help you? Heh, we have more than enough Pokemon at our disposal to attack all five guilds at once. You're going to all die here..."
She flicked her tail as a signal to attack and then all hell broke loose.
Jazz---Taki---Valor---Angel
Jazz gave a slight shudder at the horde of Pokemon before them.
Maybe he should have listened to Siggy, but no. The Raichu shook his head at that.
He'd not leave the Typhlosion to fight alone.
"Well...s**t." Angel stated, summing up the situation quite nicely.
Taki smiled, prepared to reveal to the small Eevee his infatuation when he laid eyes on the gathering of Pokemon before them and his jaw dropped.
Gah, dammit.
Atticus---Riley

[Can not be harmed until her subordinates are taken out.]
Pain HP: 50
Misery HP: 50

FlorandraxxxLancerHearing that, the bird gave a short surprised chirrup and shivered. Well, that had been abrupt but she had to admit... it would certainly be nice~ "Yes, love... Now let us fight."Spreading her wings and screeching a Metal Sound for a battle cry, she flew low over the mass of Pokemon, taking out a few with her Steel Wing. Lancer had been staring off into space when he felt eyes upon him. Without any great rush, he looked down into the half-lidded eyes of a black Croagunk. Huh, neat little bugger. Reminded him of himself. Without saying anything, he pulled a blunt out, lit it, and stuck it in the brats mouth. "Enjoy, kleines Frosch." he said in his gruff voice. After that, he pat him on the head and witnessed another Toxicroak enter the fray. God, if ever there was a real challenge, it would be her. Grinning, he launched himself at her with a series of Bullet Punches and Poison Jabs. (-4 Pokemon) SinistradxxxVeronicaSinistrad looked out over the sea of Pokemon and snorted. He'd take out the ones that would be easy and leave the harder stuff to the others. If worse came to worse, he'd just use Veronica as a meat shield. Scuttling forward, he Spider Webbed two Poochyena till they suffocated. Veronica's ears and tail drooped as she realized what was about to happen. "Oh dear..." she murmured. Golden fur caught her eye and at once she 'toughened up'. "Don't worry Lord Taki! I'll protect you!" she yipped confidently. With that she aimed a Shadow Ball straight at an Abra and took it out. [-3 Pokemon]

 Lucy---&--- Spike---&--- Leslie---&--- NicoLucy stared at the Umbreon that had shown herself.
That ear... Those colors...
There was no mistaking it.
"My granddaughter..." She whispered softly, tears forming in her eyes.
But the battle was starting, so she couldn't get distracted.
After kicking away a enemy Pokemon, she aimed an Ice Beam at that Absol.
Spike grinned at that other Absol.
"Ooooh, look at this tough guy. I bet his brain is the size of a peanut!"
Spike's shoulder opened up, brandishing a gun which fired at Misery.
"STAY AWAY FROM SELENA!" The black Luxray screamed, a Thunder shooting from his body at Pain.
"Now you'll all see what happens when you stand between me and my glory!"
The Weavile quickly mutated, his blod spraying Milly's back as he cackled.
He shot many Pokemon with his claws, causing slow and painful deaths.
He then swung his whip arm at Pain.Siggy---&--- Maxi"Get behind me, Jazzy!" Siggy roared, slashing away and enemy before firing a Flamethrower at the Toxicroak.
Maxi didn't even budge as a blunt was stuck in his mouth.
The drug just seemed to belong there.
"..."
The Croagunk turned around slowly, exhaling some smoke before running forward, swinging a Poison Jab at Misery.
