Victoria dug around in her bag o' stuff for her cell phone (she wanted to know what time it was) as she walked up the sidewalk to Carina's house. It had been forever since she'd last seen her good friend Carina. Matter of fact the last time they'd talk she was blabbering on about how great Philip was... She had grown since then and Philip was out of the picture (and to her dismay now six feet under). She was checking the time because she didn't want to be late for tea with her friend. There was a nice Cafe down the street that they could walk to.
Two minutes til time she knocked on the door. Her travelers cloak being typical attire she had thought nothing of it. But due to that, and the height difference (among other physical differences) it would be hard to tell who she was... with the exception of her eyes. She smiled as she waited impatiently for her friend to open the door.

Despite the fact that Carina had yelled that she would get the door it was Orion who yanked it open. The now slightly older herald grinned at Victoria, whom he knew only a little but enough to show off too. "Hi, Carina will be here in a second but I wanted to see you too." He as a boy was not invited to their little things together and thus had to make time to get attention and show off how he'd grown and changed. Orion found the exclusions highly unfair, not becuase he wanted to go drink tea, though eating cakes would be nice, but becuase if Carina was willing to do stuff with him at home she should take him with her to play with her friends. He didn't exclude her from things he did with his friends,. well not on purpose anyways. The herald child ruffled his papery wings at the irritating thought.

"Just admit it-" Tori chuckled. "You wanted to show off how big you've gotten," she winked. "You're growing into quite the young man... a real lady pleasure I bet," she teased playfully. She knew that the boy wasn't old enough for those things but she hoped in a way it would boost his ego.
"You being a young gentleman and all are you going to invite me in?" Tori asked politely.

Orion grinned at the compliment and bounced from foot to foot before he nodded, stepped back and opened the door wider. " Come in please Victoria, Carina is in the living room trying to get her shoes back from Purple." Orion wasn't sure why the nutbar had his sister's shoes only that he'd seen the creature flying off with them only moments before.

Evari had a nutbar but she didn't know there was more than one and that Carina had one as well. She half wondered where they came from or what they were exactly. That was another topic entirely, and one certainly for another time.
"Does Carina need assistance?" Tori said with a giggle as she stepped inside.

"No," a slightly irritated looking Carina appeared from the doorway to the living room. Upon the redhead's feet were very shiny looking black leather shoes. The curio rolled her pinkish purple eyes as she approached her brother and friend. " Purple was on a show shining spree and didn't want to stop becuase he likes the smell of the polish," she explained. While the nutbar hadn't tried to eat the polish it still wasn't a good idea for him to be stealing shoes becuase he was addicted to how polish smelled. Maybe she shouldn't try and make him useful it only ever ended up badly these days.
The blond herald snickered at that, he had never understood the always hungry, one eyed being.

Tori let out a small giggle as Carina did her best to try and explain away her nutbar's strange obsession with shoe polish ad shinning shoes. "Why don't you start a shoe shinning business... just don't tell anyone how they are shined," she winked before glancing over at the blond haired boy.

Carina laughed softly and briefly contemplated the idea, well contemplated the idea of having some sort of business where Purple did all the work. The nutbar wasn't overly trustworthy but if she gave him something to do that he liked he might prove competent and then they'd have money of their very own to spend on things.
Orion snickered and shook his head "I guess you're not taking him with you then." He could only imagine the trouble a bottomless pit like Purple could get into when left to his own devices.

"Girl's 'night' out," Tori chuckled. "I'd say Purple is genderless and therefore not counted in. Perhaps another time," she winked. "I'm sure you two will have fun getting into no good."

A blur of gray appeared from the living room and second later the one eyed, big toothed nutbar was inches away from Victoria's face. " IheardyousaythatbutIamsogoodbecuaseIgetextradessertforbehavinggsothere." Purple huffed at the end of his little indignant rant and fixed the redheaded girl with a stare that was not nearly as intimidating as he might hope for.
Carina stared at the ceiling and prayed for the day when her servant friend grew up.
Orion snorted again but watched Victoria closely, if she got upset he'd do something to distract Purple so the girl's could escape.

"I'll make you a deal," Tori looked Purple in the eye and grinned. "You let us ladies go out and have a good time and in return when we return I'll bring you my boots and some polish. I don't have much time and they are looking a bit on the warn side."

Purple seemed to think about this for half a seconds before floating over to the door flinging it open. "Okayokayhaveanicetimedon'ttalkttostrangeboyswithcandy"
Orion laughed outright at that but just waved at Victoria and his sister while rustling his wings a bit. "Looks like you're free."
Carina grabbed her friend's hand and tugged her towards the door before anything else could waylay them.

"Have a nice time Orion," Tori said with a wink and a wave.
With her free hand she pulled the hood of her travelers cloak back into place. "To bad the poor dear doesn't realize just how many pairs of boots I own," As the door closed behind them Tori locked arm and arm with Carina and giggled.

"Serves him right," the other redhead replied as she fell in step beside her friend. Pinkish purple eyes studied the older girl carefully, taking in the changes in her Victoria was the same as always and yet different. Part of the girl still worried if they had enough in common anymore or if her own inability to grow up quickly would make her lose a good sensible friend.
Trying not to dwell too much on the idea Carina posed a question instead. "Do you know what you want to be when you're an adult yet? "

Tori stopped just short of her next step... unfortunately stopping Carina as well. It was evident that the girl with all the answers, even if wrong, had been stumped. "Well..." She stood there for a moment and thought. She was sure that Carina noticed not only her physical changes but other changes as well. "I'm finished growing and I've got a lot of life ahead of me," she finally said. "There isn't any one thing I want to do 'forever' except play the violin and continue to learn as much as I possibly can." She smiled and hoped that it would be an acceptable answer. "You?" It was only fair.
