So, I don't know if any of you watch Stargate Atlantis, but basically these people traveled to a city in a different galaxy with absolutely no way of knowing what kind of threats they might be up against. So my question for you: if you where in that situation, what guns would you bring with you?

I'd take an AK-74 complete with supressor, grenade launcher and a holographic sight. I would probably bring along a small compact shotgun and a medium powered pistol too, neither of those two with any fancy attachments.

well I'm a long time fan I have watched all SG1 episodes in two weeks I own the entire series but for Atlantis I honestly think I would chose the AA12 anr maybe squad automatic weapon S.A.W silencer included just because that is a good Ideal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QavKtVIgFg

For myself I think I would want a 308. battle rifle, probably an M14, and a double-column Kimber 1911. And a few hide away pieces.

Primary-S.A.W., red dot scope, bi pod, silencer
shotgun- AA12
Pistol(s)-Dual G-18's with 32 round extended mags, silencers, and laser sights
Backup-S&W-M&P compact, laser sight
Sniper rifle-Barret .50 with bi-pod and 16 zoom scope
and maybe a sentry gun or 2 to help guard my HQ
