User ImageIt went against Sjenos's better judgment to travel in the open tundra during the day, but he had been eager - perhaps too eager - to get back to the taiga. He had missed the protective cover of trees and the easier hunting while he crossed the snowy lands to the west. It had been an interesting journey, full of meetings he'd not expected to have, but he was glad to be back in familiar territory.

Not that Sjenos actually had a territory, as such. He didn't lead the sort of stationary lifestyle which lent itself well to establishing and maintaining a territory. He felt a strong urge to keep moving most of the time, and rarely lingered in one place for more than a few days, and most of the time he was moving.

When he returned to the taiga, it was as close to a homecoming as his lifestyle would permit. The snowy forests acted as a home base for him, and it didn't matter whether he returned to the same forest every time. Sometimes he wondered why he didn't just stay in the taiga, but then he would feel the pull to move on after a week or two and, lacking anything or anyone to tie him to one place, he would obey the call to wander. But right now, for all purposes, the dark snow leopard was coming home.

It was unfortunate, he thought with a sigh, that he'd chosen to enter the forest in a place which smelled of a female snow leopard. Judging by the strength of the scent, she was probably nearby, too. How wonderful.
