Julmunui huffed. The weather was hot. Unbelievably hot. Even in the high branches of the trees where wind and shade were abundant did little against the unpleasant feeling. What was more unpleasant was that Julmunui's adoptive mother had insisted that she go out to play with other foxes. Get her out of the den, smoldering in the heat.She huffed again. It was really too hot. Julmunui looked to the meadow and saw the other kits slug towards the trees. Even they didn't want to play in this heat!
"This is so ridiculous! Why is it so hot?" she shouted into the meadow, an unusual outburst compared to her normal behavior. Her shout seemed to attract attention from some of the kits that remained in the meadow; all of them deciding that the shade was far more important than their curiosity.
