The sun was high into the sky by the time she'd finished bathing all the boys, her jaws ached as she still couldnt believe what a mess they could make with their breakfast! She shook her head, they were all now asleep, clean and fat bellied.
She crawled out of the gnarled tree roots that she kept them hidden in, she was still nervous about having strangers around, she'd already lost one, and though it broke her heart, she had looked for weeks, risking the others to find him, she had to let go, for the sake of her other cubs lives.
Azu had chosen a tree close to a river, she was an amazing fisher and generally used that skill to keep her cubs bellies fed, but now, she just laid in the shoreline of the river, closing her eyes and letting out a sigh of peace..she'd get the gods one day, for cursing her, and then giving her only sons..Oh they'd pay.

 Mes-en yawned slightly as he padded along, tail flicking back and forth behind him. It was a lazy sort of day today... the type where one wanted to do nothing more but lie about in the shade and doze.
But alas... he had things to do. He needed to hunt, and find a new place to den up for a while. Perhaps... find someone in need and help them out for a bit ...
Lost in thought, the brown male didn't even notice the lioness lying in the river up ahead as he reached the shore and lapped at the cool water.

She sensed him almost instantly, her eyes opened as they searched for a second before falling on the brown male, she didnt move from her place, only lifted her head and watched him curiously.
Tail flicking up and down in the soft roll of the shoreline water, she decided it'd be nice to have a grown up to talk to, "Hello.." She called out.

Oh dear, he'd completely failed to see a lady! Gasping at his behavior, the brown male swept into a little bow. "Forgive my rudeness! I didn't see you there before," he exclaimed, smiling.
Padding a bit closer, he sat down and curled his tail about paws. "I am Mes-en'aphar. What might your name be, fair lady?"

At his bow, a smile tugged on her features, she'd never had another bow to her before, she lightly bowed her head in return as she continued to lay in a relaxed state, she didnt see any reason to fear this male.
"No reason for you to be forgiven." she replied with a light nod of her head, "Azu, you can call me Azu.." She smiled, she rarely gave her full name to anyone, the father of her sons didnt even know her full name, though at the time, she'd thought of sharing it with him.

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Azu!" Mes-en replied at that, with another little bob of his head. Glancing around almost covertly, he lowered his voice.
"You wouldn't have happened to see anyone lately who has far too much for their own good, hm? I'm something of a traveling... hmmn." How to put this. "A traveling Equalizer!" No, that sounded stupid. Crap. "What I mean is uhm! Whenever someone has too much I'll take some of it if I can and give it to someone else that doesn't have enough."
Which made him sound like a thief but it was what he did!

She smiled at him, crossing one paw over the other as she watched him, listening though half of that was also keeping a keen ear on the sounds of her sons.
She laughed, " I know a rogue with to much charm." She rolled her eyes, she wouldnt wish her cubs father harm..per say but maybe a good lesson.
"Other than that, sadly I keep to myself these days. Though if you find someone with some extra paws..keep me in mind?" she mused with a playful smile.

Mes-en wondered for a moment why she would need help... after all, she seemed pretty healthy right now. But well ... there was probably something she didn't want to tell him about. Perhaps he could find out if he was nice!
"A rogue with too much charm?" he asked curiously. "Did this rogue ... hurt you somehow?"

She let out a soft laugh, and smiled. "Well, Im not sure if you could say he hurt me. But, I guess it was my own silly foolish heart that got me tangled up with him. Though, I dont regret it for a second." She shook her head, she loved her sons a great deal.
"Left me with cubs to raise." She said. "I just wouldnt want it to happen to another lioness." She shrugged.
