Character Name: Sheridan

Age: 17

Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Craft/Rank: Apprentice Minecrafter

History: From birth, Sheridan was absolutely doomed to be a tinkerer. His mother was a rather respected Master in the Minercraft Hall, and though his father remained only a faceless name in his craft, he was still a Smithcrafter attached to the Miners with dedication. Unfortunately such dedication to craft leaves not much time for one’s spouse, and Sheridan is the only child of the pair - raised mostly by the entire hall in some sort of communal agreement. This never seemed to bother him, and he speaks of both of his parents very fondly if asked about them!

He will also tell, with no little amount of laughter, the weeks of contention and yelling fights over which craft he might go into. Sheridan’s mother swore up and down that he had a knack for finding the rarest ores with little time spent on the task, where his father would hold up one of his abnormally large hands to point that he had a smith’s capable grip! On and on until finally, Sheridan settled the argument and won his mother’s love forever by personally petitioning the Masterminer to remain at the Hall.

He didn’t actually have a knack for finding ore, simply years of hanging about the Minercraft with which to familiarize himself. So it seemed, for a time, that he was a bit of a prodigy - something that was quickly dispelled when asked to do anything other than sort ore! He wasn’t incompetent, just a basic apprentice, but he worked hard at his craft with interest. That was, of course, when he was not making himself difficult with the other, more female, apprentices! It was on one such excursion of chasing a girl down to tease her that Sheridan ended up in the weyr.

Coming out of the area where apprentices were normally kept busy, he was witness to a landing of Dragonriders on Search from the more modern Trine Weyr. Captivated by the black dragon nearest him, the young man stepped out to get a better look, and drew the attention immediately of the riders. Unfortunately, his mother nor his Craftmaster were eager to let him go, and in the end he was forced to do something never done before - raise his voice to fight.

Now he’s at Trine Weyr, wondering if he did the right thing, but still incredibly honored and more than a little excited. After all, there are no Dragonriders in his family....yet!

Description: It’s not something you would expect from someone waiting to spend their lives in a mine, but Sheridan is fairly tall. Six feet, two inches of sinewy muscle and bronzed skin from lugging ore about the complex and genetics. His hands can easily encompass a piece of the rough metal, being slightly larger than average. His auburn hair is cropped fairly neatly to stay clean and free of a lot of dirt. Really, he’s just a normal guy! Though something rather extraordinary is the azure blue eyes standing out in his face - they just seem out of place in his darker body!

Personality: As comes from being reared by an entire collection of people, Sheridan is an incredibly social young man. If given the choice, he will spend all of his time in a cluster of people of any age - though he prefers people in his age group! A boisterous, loud friend, Sheridan is a good guy to have at a party. Or if you're climbing a mountain, because the whole sharding thing could hear his voice - his natural volume is loud!

Though there is one peculiarity, and that is that generally Sheridan has a complete lack of tact! His brain to mouth filter was removed somewhere around the time he learned to talk, and more often than not what is in his head pops out before he thinks if he should be saying such a thing. When dealing with young ladies, another favorite past-time of his, it is usually disastrous and something he is actually self-conscious about. So self-conscious that he is the sort of a boy that if he likes you, he will pull your hair and tease you mercilessly about any little thing!

He never really means harm, and is a good-natured young man that takes problems in stride. He was raised in one of the more sober, unforgiving of crafts and as such is not fond of mistakes made - especially his own. He works hard at whatever he does, but doesn't think there's anything wrong with mixing work and play if you can!
