She was humming to herself, lying on her belly, tail swaying from side to side in time with the merry tune. Settled in her forepaws was her 'seeing-rock', beautifully shining in the sunlight. She never went anywhere without it and she'd even created a little sling for it, so she could carry it abour her neck.
A seer never did known when one might wish for her services and she seemed to be able to focus much better when she had her little seeing-stone there to peer into. Helped her focus on the task at hand. Helped her to picture the images of the future as crystal clear as if she were watching it actually happen before her eyes. She was rather proud of her abilities and how well they were honed. Very proud indeed. Glad for them, too. They had brought great benefits with them. Beautiful trinkets hung about her limbs, twinkling in the light, too. And, there were other benefits too...
Males.
She purred at the thought and then continued her humming, wiping a paw against the smooth surface of her most prized posession. For once, it seemed, she was quite content to lie back and do nothing but wile the day away.

Suijin had used his Shaman in order to find and locate the gray, paint-splattered, female. It was the beauty of having a seer or two at his disposal, however the male was unable to do more for him when it came to visions or rather the type of visions he was looking for. As a result he was out, away from his pride, in search of the female who had helped him so long ago.
He knew that she would give him the answers he wanted in return for something he was all too comfortable sharing.
It didn't take the dual-colored male long to find her and he found himself smirking when he did. "Aryiola," he called coolly pulling her name from his memory with ease.

She turned her head slowly round to regard him, her face already lit with flirtation, almost as if she had known he would be coming. She blinked slowly, peering up at him through her eyelashes. Mmm...it was this one. Out of all her encounters with males during her coming of age, he had certainly been one of the best - if not the best partner she had ever had.
She was very pleased to see him.
"Suijin." She replied smoothly. "What a pleasant surprise." She did not move to greet him, trusting that he would join her. She kept a forepaw slung across her seeing-stone, seemingly comfortable where she was.
"Well, handsome, what brings you back to my little part of the world, hmmm? You ever find your daughter?"

Suijin had always been full of confidence, he had always know that he was the best of the best and until recently he had been proud to say that he had never lost a fight. While he was rather bitter about his loss he was determined to not lose again, and that was what had made him stronger. Every time things did not go his way he had moved on and gotten that much stronger from it. H
He was determined to stay on top, to be one step ahead of his opponents.
He nodded when she spoke his name and walked over to her slowly, taking his sweet time. When he was close enough he sunk down on to his belly so he could look her in the eye easily. "I require your services," he told her point-blank. "And yes, I found my daughter and she now stays with me. Her mother is most unhappy about it," he chuckled. Seeing Horowai squirm gave him too much pleasure.

She blinked slowly, waiting until he was lying before her so that she could look into his face. Into his eyes. She couldn't help it. She liked him. She'd always loved a male who was, in her opinion, 'all that a male should be'. She liked them confident and brave and strong and sure of themselves. She had no time for weak males who dithered about in indecisiveness. This male, this Suijin, he knew what he wanted from life and she liked that in him. His ambition attracted her.
She purred a little as he admitted into needing her services and gave a small smile. She only helped those she liked and lucky for Suijin, he was at the top of her list. She'd never hoped to see him again, for she had never seen any of her other clients after they had parted ways. It was most fortunate that he had returned.
"It pleases me to hear that." She smiled. "For what is the use of a gift if it cannot be used to help others?" She gave a small shrug and stroked a paw across the surface of the stone and settled it comfortably before her.
"How can I help you this day, Suijin? Will this be a general fortune-telling or would you like something...more specific?"

Suijin wasn't one to lie, no he just skillfully bended the truth in a way that would benefit him, and he wasn't going to lie and say he didn't enjoy the female's company. No that was far from the truth. She was a pretty female and he enjoyed the conversations he had with her. He also wasn't going to lie, she was one of his better partners too.
He wasn't ashamed of his conquests across Africa, he wasn't ashamed of how many he had been with and how many he would be with, no if he felt it would benefit him he would continue on.
"It concerns the mother of my daughter, I am certain she'll be seeking me out soon. I want to know if I will win and if I will have control of her after," he told her a dark smile spreading across his maw.

Very ambitious. Very controlling. What a male! She did well to hide her girlish excitement around him, taming that energy and focusing it on the job at hand. She was just as curious as he was to see what would happen. He had led an interesting life so far and, with the way he was going, it certainly wasn't about to end anytime soon. This one would accomplish much in his lifetime, what with his determination and boundless strength.
She shifted so she lay more comfortably against the ground and nodded thoughtfully, her sharp, bright eyes moving from him and down to the seeing-stone.
"Very well. I shall find the answers you seek." An ear twitched towards him and then, slowly, they settled to lie flat against her head. A veil of concentration swept itself across her face and, she pointed her gaze at the stone, staring into it as if she wished to be entombed in its crystalline shape. Her claws unsheathed slowly, curling into the dust and, for a moment she went very still, even her breath coming to a halt.
And then she saw it.
The daughter; fully grown, beautiful, doting, adoring. Aryiola had seen that look before. But that was not what she wanted to see. Focus, Aryiola, focus!! Her mother, where was her mother?
The image shifted, became smoky, and as she peered through the mist she was transported to a new place. A place where the trees grew closer together, hugging a darkness beneath their canopies. A glint of movement amongst leaves, a flash of teeth, and there she was. A blue, bristling warrioress. A danger? Possibly so. Or she could have been. But even Aryiola could see that this female was blinded by rage. Emotional. She would make mistakes. And, Suijin would most likely grab at those opportunities as they arrived.
There was a fight. Such power. Such anger and hate. It put fear in her to see it. And he was there, fighting her. She felt her heart beat faster to see such power. Such rage and anger. What she wouldn't give to have a male such as that! Perhaps even her roving eye would settle if she had such a mating companion as he...
But no, no, focus!
The image had started to fade, but it was brought back into clear, vivid reality again. The fight had ended, the female beaten, dragged away. Barely a hint of a struggle. Perhaps she was badly wounded? Perhaps she had simply given up, knowing it was hopeless and all was lost. But there was no doubt about it. Suijin had one and he would clearly have the female in his grasp.
The image faded and she blinked, feeling somewhat disorientated from the visions and the emotions that they had evoked in her. Her head snapped up to look at Suijin in the face, her breath coming in short, shallow gasps. And then, slowly, she calmed, that smooth smile appearing back on her face.
"I have good news for you this time." She spoke up. "She will seek you out, just as you predicted, and she will fight. Her rage is great. She seeths. But this will give you the advantage. I think it will be an easy win for you." She paused, looking down at her paws, drawing her ears forwards. "And, when the fight is done she will be yours."
There was a pause and she lifted her eyes to look at him. "What do you plan to do with her, once she is yours again, Suijin?" She was a curious cat indeed.

Suijin watched in fascination as she began to dive into her vision. He always envied the ability seers had although he never wished for the ability himself. He had seen how the ability to see into the future had tormented and destroyed some and while he was confident he would be much like his shaman, Mahaskah, who controlled his visions easily he did not want to challenge destiny.
He always wondered why seer powers varied from individual to individual. As far as he could tell Aryiola and Maha's abilities were equal however she was able to look into certain events and he was able to locate nearly anyone asked of him. He knew that the pale blue seer could see future events as well but he could not see the outcome, he would only see the event. A fact that frustrated Suijin but it had led him to his gray seer. A fact he was okay with.
When she spoke of what she had seen his dark grin only grew wider. "The female has no idea of what I am capable of," he stated with a sinister chuckle. They were quite different, Horowai and himself. He was cunning, dark and calculating. She was honor bound, emotional and in a way bright like light. She let her emotions cloud her judgment far too easily while he never let his play into anything. Not anymore at least.
"I plan to put her in her place, permanently," he responded without batting an eye. Horowai would be his personal slave, victim to whatever he felt like subjecting her to. "I will make her understand that she will never be able to overcome me and I will always stand superior to her."

Aryiola nodded, that smile fading a little as she became thoughtful. The whole situation intrigued her. Very much so. Nothing had ever captured her interest as much and she had seen into many many futures. She could not see her own future, to be sure, but she preferred it that way. What a bore it would be to go through life knowing what was around the next bend.
And yet...
Realising she was frowning, she smoothed her features and stood with a flourish. She glanced across at him, that curiosity returned. She knew what he was capable of and yet that only attracted her to him, not scared her away as it would have most others.
Carefully she lifted the stone and slipped it into the sling that hung about her neck, patting it as if to make sure it was settled comfortably. Then, again, she looked to him. Clearly a lot was going through her mind, working out the rights and wrongs of her next actions.
"Suijin." She said at last, finding that she liked the sound of his name on her tongue. It was easy to say. Smooth and sharp, much like his character. "I do not doubt it. I have seen the power of your strength in visions. You intrigue me with your cunning." Another pause. "You are superior to her. Superior to any I have met. I cannot remember any other lion who has captured my interest as much as you have. I have been content with my life as a travelling fortune-teller. Up until now, that is."
She took a step towards him, her gaze intense. "I will be blunt. What would you say if I asked whether I could accompany you when you return to your homeland? I think I could prove most useful to you." A fleeting smile fluttered across her features. "With my visions...amongst other things." She purred, her intentions clear.
"Honestly, I have never crossed the path of one such as you. Your future is so vibrant, it has my heart racing to look to what will unfold. It is a rare thing to find someone with a future like yours. Very rare indeed." She spoke with a rising excitement in her voice. "Close by, I can provide you with visions to aid in your cause whenever you please." Her words laced with a purr. "I can fight. I can trick. And, if you wish it of me, I would even carry your cubs - me! Aryiola who said she would never be burdened by such things!" She nodded swiftly, her eyes feverish with the thought of it. She was fed up with her life. Suddenly she realised how much more she could do. She could use her powers to change the course of lives. She could use them to build an empire!
"And for all of that, all I would wish in return is my freedom to come and go as I please. The nomadic life is in my blood, after all, it would be hard - I think - to remain in one place too long. But I would always return when you needed me, because I would see when you will need me."

The fact that Aryiola knew very well what he was capable and could see just how his character truly was and she still so eager to please him. To offer herself to him only made his grin broader. In a way the paint marked female had fallen victim to the trap that was Suijin. Even without intention the pale-faced male was manipulating people around him. The fact that he knew when to show his true self and when to play the part of another was just one of the ways he controlled those around him.
"The fact that she underestimates me only makes the situation more enjoyable," he stated. If he had known that his other daughter, one he had never cared to learn about, could see just how dangerous he was and tried to warn Horowai who had paid no heed he would have been proud. He would have laughed. The fact that the dark blue female had faced him twice and yet still thought she stood a chance against him was very humorous to him.
When she asked to come with him to his pride, to join him if only for short periods of time over longer time his dark grin faded and he looked over her form slowly. He took in every inch of her, soaking up the air and appearance that made up the pretty seer lioness. "I would say that I agree, you would indeed be quite useful to me," he told her after a minute or two of silence from him.
A cocky smirk decorated his maw as he rose to his paws and moved closer to her. "You and I would make strong, beautiful cubs. Ones that could actually prove useful to me," he stated thinking of his last litter with a bit of disgust. They were all a bunch of saps, nothing but weaklings. He was disappointed, furious about it even.
"Your powers would prove very useful to me and the other seer that stands by my side. Your powers vary greatly as well..." he mused thinking of his pale blue seer. "You would have your freedom, as long as you were there when I wanted you to be."
He had plans for this one.

She smiled in her typical feminine and graceful way and, without much warning, moved to press against him. The touch sent a jolt of pleasure through her heart and had it pounding eagerly against her rib cage. Yes, this could be a dangerous and stupid thing she was doing, but she couldn't help herself. She had sought and longed for someone who would have a future that deserved her attentions. And she had found that one in Suijin.
She had deeply regretted letting him go the first time they had met, but she had been younger, then and more than eager to look to her next partner. However, the thoughts of him had lingered, even when she was coupled with another. There had been no one quite like him and, more recently, the futures she had seen in males had been dull and boring. It was so dull that she hadn't even really enjoyed the coupling that had followed. Being near Suijin made her feel alive again, gave her the desire to use her gifts rather than yawn and turn away clients. She had yearned for this feeling and was so terribly grateful that he had crossed her path again so that she had a chance to feel this way.
"You shall find me a willing and unresentful lover, I promise you that, my sweet." She dipped her head coyly, curling her tail so that it brushed against his hindleg. Aryiola, who had also had many partners, would certainly not try to keep Suijin for herself. She understood his desires and compared them with her own - though clearly the motives were very different. She would not even flutter an eyelid to see him with another female, so long as he spent some time with her, too.
"Must we rush on our way, or would you like to rest a while in my den? It's not far and I'm sure you could do with some entertainment after your travels to get here..."

"I know," Suijin responded to her lover comment. He understood her and how she worked quite well. She was an easy character to read and to, in a sense, manipulate. He already had her in the palm of his paw. She would be his now and forever. Until he tired of her of course. All good things came to an end eventually.
"We can stay for the night, I have much to do tomorrow," he told her with a nod of his head. "Lead the way," he instructed pushing his nose into her cheek to get her to turn and do just that.
He knew of the way but decided that today, he would let her lead him.
