Personality: Kiriko is very optimistic and enjoys a good time with her friends. She is the last to do something stupid though, she isn't in any way stupid or arrogant, but she is very thick headed and stubborn. She refuses to be told otherwise or be disrespected in anyway by anyone no matter who they might be. She is not afraid to speak her mind about anything, she is nowhere near shy about anything. She is a bright person who will listen to what others have to say most of the time. She can also be a bit of a tease, she will joke around and mess with her friends and her normal to greet them is to tackle hug them from behind. She isn't very self conscious but she knows when someone is staring at her too much and when to put her foot down. There isn't a lot of things she obsesses about or is too serious about like fighting battles. She can be the total opposite when she's mad though, she has moments where she is cold and cruel like when people speak about things they should know nothing about towards her. Other than that she is a good person with plenty of common sense. Even though she does all this she does it all in a calm, mellow manner unless she's hugging you from behind or slightly hyper.

Background History: On June Thirteenth, twenty one years ago, Kiriko Shiba was born. Her mother, Hina, was an ex-shinobi from the Sand, her father Shinji, a rogue ninja from the Leaf. Hina was a kind woman with a gentle smile and a loving personality, Shinji was a rough man, but he had a good sense of humor and a big heart he was big teaser but had his dark moments. It was hard for Kiriko to imagine Hina as a former elite ninja and imagine how Shinji got his status as a rogue ninja. Do to her parents' status they traveled a lot, not staying in one place for too long, Kiriko didn't mind though it was like one big adventure to her. Plus she had a lot of free time which meant she could train a lot with her father on her combat and jutsu.
When Kiriko was six her and her parents were ambushed by a large group of people who Kiriko believed to be shinobi from a village not far off. Hina was ordered by Shinji to take their daughter a flee to safety until he could get back to them. Unable to say no Hina grabbed Kiriko and ran in the opposite direction, with one of the enemies on their tail and closing in on them faster than was expected. Hina was able to hide Kiriko in a tree and fight of the man, but was given a fatal wound through the abdomen in the process of retrieving Kiriko who had tried to jump from the tree to help her mother. Even though she was in a critical state she managed to defeat the man before falling to the ground and dying after apologizing to Kiriko and telling her she lover her. Kiriko was in a confused and panicked state, desperately trying to revive her mother when her father showed up to take Kiriko and escape, Kiriko was shocked at how her father could not shed a single tear over the woman he devoted his life to for so long.
Once to safety Shinji explained everything to Kiriko, not leaving out a single detail about what had happened and how he blamed himself for not being there to save Hina's life. Kiriko ,at first, refused to believe it all, she wanted to deny everything she had just heard. Though as things settled down and they began to travel again Kiriko knew she had to accept the fact her mother was gone and continue living and be happy for her mother's sake and for her father's well being. Half a year later she resumed training with her father.
By the time she was eight she had learned a few ninjutsu (The basics), some taijutsu, was getting good at her combat skills, and was failing her genjutsu epically. Which Shinji found both amusing and odd seeing how both him and Hina were pretty good with genjutsu, Kiriko on the other hand found it very embarrassing. Then Shinji would have to remind her (and himself) that she was still very young and had a long way to go, plus such things were not learned over night, then Kiriko would mumble for awhile then go back to training. It was hard for her to remain focused on ranting about how bad she was at genjutsu when her dad always gave her goofy talks and false attack her in the middle of her rant all the time. So she always ended up training more with her dad.
At twelve years old Kiriko had taijutsu nailed down, probably because it was her favorite to work on (what kid doesn't like jumping around and breaking things with their bare hands?), was getting good at ninjutsu, master her combat skills just about, and was still bad at genjutsu. At the same time Kiriko was begging to mature, which put Shinji in an awkward position when hos daughter would ask questions about her "growth spurt" or anything else that had to do with it. So Kiriko grew up with little feminine influence which explains her lack of self consciousness and how things normal girls would flip out about she could care less about. So on the outside she's her mother and on the inside she's her father.
The next three years went by rather quickly, all it was was training, traveling, having fun, and asking questions. Kiriko was fifteen and a pretty decent ninja in her father's opinion, she could almost take him in a fight. If she was serious. That was her down fall, she didn't take it as serious as she should have. As far as maturity went Kiriko had years of training left, but Shinji doubted he could teach her that. But he knew someone who could. Shinji took Kiriko to Kohana village, telling her the only person who could complete her training was her grandfather, Hiro Shiba, and that he was waiting for her beyond the gates. He also told her he couldn't accompany her anymore but he promised to visit and gave her his old Kohana head band for good luck.
Kiriko enter Kohana alone and like Shinji said, a sorta elderly man was waiting for her at the entrance. Introductions were short and on the way to his home he explained all the rules such a strict man Kiriko had thought when he spoke to her. Hiro's home was average size, but his back yard..... Not so much. The place was huge and had tons of training equipment for her to use. He had her train and found every flaw in her jutsu, combat, and even her stances! No matter how hard she tried nothing made that guy happy. Ever. Though he found amusing how she would shout profanities at the equipment and such like a grown man and make nothing of it when she was upset.
Even after six years Kiriko still lives with Hiro, G-paw she calls him, training and having a good time. Shinji visits every now and then, sneaky b*****d. Kiriko is constantly doing something that ranges from bickering with G-paw to wondering aimlessly around town. She still has her head band that Shinji gave her, which apparently made people think she was a Kohana Shinobi. When she asked Hiro and Shinji they told her to think nothing of it and go on with her business. Hiro also told her that even though she had shinobi skills she was not going to go on missions with other shinobi unless he said so, he also told her to stay out of the way of the Hokage, she didn't need to get dragged into things that didn't involve her. With that said she lives her life day to day and thinks nothing of Kohana's shinobi world that Hiro told her about.
