Sorcha pulled to a stop out side of the the cottage and flipped off Machiavelli's power, and the dull roar of the engines was replaced by a loud crash as the hover jets suddenly cut off. "Alright need to install a slow shut down sequence next, still no real problems today." Sorcha commented to her self as she released her seats harnesses.Sorcha took a moment to survey her creation after getting out of the vehicle, Machiavelli was a wedge faced box of steel with a propulsion engine mounted on each side, the weld work of the steel hull was visible in a few places and the where a number of dents and even a few slightly melted spots, but Machiavelli could make 160 miles per hour on almost any terrain and Sorcha knew with the surety of accidental testing that it could survive a head on collision with a mid sized car and only suffer cosmetic damage and really what more could you ask of a vehicle? After making a quick check that there where no problems with the propulsion engines (it would be so embarrassing if one of the engines caught fire during the date), Sorcha walked up to the cottage door and rang the bell.

Dacj answered the door, dressed for the occasion in a light cotton tank-tunic and with her trusty straw hat decorated with ribbon atop her head. She grinned at Sorcha, then immediately attempted to get on tip-tentacle to see over the other's shoulder, trying to figure out what had made the crashing noise. It was...very much the sort of thing she'd thought of when pondering Sorcha up to no good in mad-sciencey pursuits. She figured it had to be safe enough if Sorcha was going to be using it as transportation for them both, despite its rather beat-up appearance. "I see you've been busy," she said, settling back down on her tentacles.

Sorcha laughed slightly glad to see her friend "Well I have been working on Machiavelli for a long while now, haven't managed to out fit her with any weapons yet my death rays keep over heating, though since the non-lethal deterrents are coming along better I might try adding a few of them next..." Sorcha zoned out for a moment thinking of various possibilities then snapped back to the present, "How have you been Dacj? Ready to see the Movie?"

Dacj wrinkled her nose at the choice of name for the vehicle--better to be feared than loved, eh? She was mildly alarmed about death rays overheating...what exactly happened when a death ray backfired? Was it still lethal? But she heartily approved of non-lethal deterrent additions to "Machiavelli"--anyone crazy enough to try and break into or steal it clearly deserved what was coming to them.
"I've been well~ Taking care of little Mirth and doing the usual routine," Dacj said. "And I am very ready to see the movie. Also to get out of this house." She hadn't fancied the lecture from her mother about Noe the other day, and she was staying out of her mother's way for a day or two.

"Oh I haven't met this Mirth before, New addition to the family?" Sorcha asked as she started to walk back to Machiavelli, Sorcha gave Dacj a slightly concerned look at the 'out of the house' "Every thing alright?" Sorcha opened Machiavelli's front side door to revel it's cockpit, there where two plush rather egg shaped seats with sturdy looking harnesses attached bolted to the floor. The Dash was covered with buttons flashing lights and dials and all in all it more resembled the cockpit of a commercial airplane then a car, the inside was rather nicer looking then the out with none of the damage and there lingered that slight smell of cleaning agents that attested that it had been recently cleaned ,Sorcha smiled rather proud of her invention and gestured for Dacj to take the seat on the right, sliding into the one on the left and buckling up her harness "Machiavelli Start up Sequence please! So Dacj what do you think of her?" Sorcha asked as the engine's growled into life with a dull roar and the hover jets lifted Machiavelli's bulk off the pavement.

"She's my drink-baby! Well, mocktail from HQ, same difference," Dacj said breezily, shuffling along after Sorcha to the "car" (hovercar? ship? she'd have to ask Sorcha for the proper term later). She chose not to answer Sorcha's question right away, clambering into the vehicle and settling herself in the right egg-seat with something like glee--she'd never realized how conducive the oddly shaped seat was for sitting with tentacles, and it was actually quite handy compared to normal seats, as she had a bit more room to get her limbs comfortable. She followed Sorcha's lead in figuring out the harness buckles, and squeaked as Machiavelli rose. "Her? It's a her?" she said, breathless as she moved forward against the harness to peer out the front, to see how high up they were. "She's amazing!" Dacj had also conveniently forgotten to address Sorcha's concern, though honestly she'd really and truly forgotten once they were airborne.

"Of course it's a her all vehicles are her's it's tradition!" Sorcha laughed. Noticing Dacj's interest Sorcha twisted a knob next to the steering wheel causing the engines to roar to ascend in volume, as Machiavelli lifted herself up a full ten feet above the ground "This is about as high as She can get right now, I've been debating if I should trying to upgrade her to true flight or not, I'm holding off right now since it would be pretty tricky and I've finally got her working well and if the engines overheated they'd do more then damage the hull~" Sorcha twisted the knob back again lowering Machiavelli down to half a foot above the ground "If we don't want to worry about getting in trouble we'll have drive her like a normal car." Sorcha's tone was slightly teasing making it obvious that she had no problems with risking it.

"Mm, I can see how true flight would be tricky--get someone with a little more experience with aircraft to help you?" the kraken suggested, settling back into her seat. Sadly she didn't know anyone herself--and her mother was not near good enough with machines to be recommended. And there was also the fact she was still vaguely irritated with the cat woman...
She chuckled at Sorcha's warning. "It'd be a bad thing if we got arrested on the first date, wouldn't it?" she teased back, before sighing wistfully. "Maybe on the way back. If we haven't managed to get in trouble before then."

Sorcha raised an eyebrow "Arrested? Normal police can't stop Machiavelli, though she is a bit too conspicuous to leave sitting out side the movie theater after annoying the police, getting her out of police lock up would be a pain in the a**. Your right it's a much better Idea to do that sort of thing when we can stash Her someplace inconspicuous after wards~ " Sorcha mused as she started heading towards the theater.

Well, that wasn't really what she'd meant, but it was still a good point. "That sounds vaguely sinister but also very action-movie-y, so I approve on both counts," Dacj said, grinning. The ride to the movie theater was rather uneventful, though Dacj realized that having a driver prone to zoning out and cackling madly at some inner thought--while terribly amusing--was also alarming. Less so for them, because Machiavelli was very sturdy, but she was worried for the other cars on the road... So when they arrived in the parking lot safe and sound (and having not mauled anyone else either), Dacj couldn't help but breathe a small sigh of relief.

Sorcha unbuckled her seat and offered her hand to Dacj to help her up "That went, well the collision avoidance subroutines didn't even activate once~ Eventually Machiavelli's gonna be able to drive herself though her AI is still too basic for that right now, So how was the ride?"

At least there were collision avoidance subroutines. Dacj took the proffered hand after unbuckling her own harness, and stepped out onto the parking lot with a little bounce. "Sounds like a great idea, a car that drives itself," she said honestly. She rather enjoyed the challenge of driving as a kraken, but there were times when it would be more convenient to turn on an autopilot. "And it was lovely, thank you~"

Sorcha kept hold of Dacj's hand after helping her up intent on holding hands all the way to their seats if possible "So do you want to get anything from their snack counter? Oh where should we sit in the theater?" Sorcha asked as the bought the tickets and walked inside.

"Slushies!" the kraken said cheerfully. "I'll have popcorn if you'll eat some too." She wasn't fond enough of the buttery-laden snack to eat much, but she'd make a good effort for the first date...and it would come in handy for throwing at the screen if necessary. She fully intended to quip throughout the movie. "Right in the middle is fine, unless you prefer higher up? It's way too uncomfortable to crane your neck sitting in the front." Dacj wasn't displeased to find Sorcha reluctant to let go of her hand, and settled her fingers into a more comfortable position.

Sorcha nodded as they walked to the consession stand "Popcorn and Slushies Sound good to me" purchasing the goods and walking in to the theater Sorcha added "The middles good, higher up is good if you want to do more then just watch the movie less conspicuous, but the first date is probably a little to early for that~"
