Lounging in a small room in the dens, that she had claimed for herself after being told she was allowed to, Zafran was glad she had found such a lovely place to settle down, and there were even cubs for her to play with! She smiled inwardly to herself, cubs were her favorite thing in the world really, and she wished to some day have some of her own.
Standing slowly, the brightly coloured lioness stretched out, and wandered slowly into the main courtyard area, hoping to get to know some of the pride members, maybe meet someone to help her get a little more familiar with the place, after all, she was new, and feeling a little unsure about what to do around the place. She had only been to a few lessons thus far, having only been around for about a week, but was very eager, and very interested in the way of life.
Sitting against a wall, Zafran sniffed the air, feeling like a new lioness in this place. It was a good fit for her, and she really hoped that the others would accept her into their way of life.

Acenath had found life difficult lately, it wasn't that life was difficult it was just that her younger siblings were now all adults and doing their own things and it just made Acenath feel old.
"If you are old I am too! I was born not long after you now keep it together will you... what would Zoran think?" Akinyi, the maned wolf who was nearly always with Acenath seemed more then happy to tell the lioness off. Neither of them were that old it was just one of those weeks.
Ace knew better then to even try and argue with Akinyi, instead she just nodded her head and pretended that she agreed completely but of course she didn't and she was still kind of moping. It was lucky in a way that they came across another lioness, one neither of them had really seen before. Ace didn't even have a chance to protest before Akinyi was trotting towards the lioness.
"Hello there, we haven't seen you before. I am Akinyi and that is Acenath." Akinyi wagged her tail a little as she introduced both of them and then waited patiently to find out who the strange lioness was.

Zafran almost allowed herself to show how shocked she was that someone was speaking to her, let alone that there were two someones. Sitting a little straighter the lioness smiled politely," A pleasure to meet you two, I'm Zafran. You haven't seen me around because I just came here barely a week past. I've been trying to learn the ropes on my own, with the help of lessons of course, but well..." Grinning sheepishly, she looked down at her paws, but only momentarily.
"So what brings you two ladies into the presence of little ol' me?" Another sheepish grin. Zafran really loved meeting new people.

Acenath could have possibly eaten Akinyi for that but she wasn't one to show aggression especially not in front of anyone.
"It's nice to meet you. Are your lessons going well? If you need anything we can help... We were both born here and have grown up knowing the place rather well." Acenath moved forward as she spoke and gave Akinyi a look that only Akinyi would understand.
"Acenath is the daughter of Muroki and Johari so she is at your service if you need anything at all." Yes Akinyi was more then happy to throw Ace in the deep end and she really did need to stop moping about and maybe helping someone out would help her too.
Ace let out a soft sigh but nodded anyway. Akinyi was right after all she was here to help.

Catching on to the fact that the lioness Acenath didn't seem to pleased about what her friend had done, Zafran began to feel a bit bad for... well she hadn't really done anything, but she still felt guilty.
"My lessons are going quite well... I'm still a bit confused on some things, and I've been looking for someone to help me out, but I certainly wouldn't want to bother you at all miss." She shook her head, as if to show that she really did not want to cause a bother for the lioness and her companion.

Akinyi just looked at Ace after the lioness stopped speaking and Ace could have sworn she looked like her father, Muroki for a minute there. It made her shudder slightly.
"Of course I can help you out. I have had to learn silly amounts because of my parents. What would you like to know? I can show you anything you would like." She smiled ignoring Akinyi's proud look behind her. One day she would show that maned wolf... maybe after this she would pounce on her and pin her down. Akinyi didn't like Ace doing that so it could be a plan.
"We could show you around if you haven't had the tour?" Akinyi offered, she was eager to get moving again now.

Briefly, Zafran wondered what it would be like to have been born into the pride, and know everything, or close to it. Shaking the thought from her head, she put her attention back on the pair. "Well, miss. A tour would be quite useful, I haven't really left the temple since I came here..." She smiled, but it was more of a sad smile then a happy one, she had been so focused on settling into the temple that she really had not left it. "That is of course, if it isn't a burden on you or anything. I wouldn't want to cause any trouble for you miss."

Acenath smiled as sweetly as she could. She didn't want to seem off or mean in any way so this was probably the easiest way of doing it especially as she had been so grumpy.
"It's no problem at all, I will show you the best place to find water if you want." She smiled, knowing full well that water isn't the easiest thing to find around here but then she and Zoran had found that place... and it was oh so beautiful.
"Can also show you the best places to go hunting." That would also be useful as she expected the lioness would end up hunting at some point.

Feeling very relieved that she wouldn't be causing a problem for the lioness, Zafran returned the smile. "That would be wonderful, knowing where the best place to get water from is definitely something I would like to know. Though I'm not the best hunter in the world, I'm sure that will also be a good thing to know." She nodded, feeling happy that she was going to get to know her way around the place better, which would also mean she would be able to do her own job better. "I'm to look after the young ones around here, so perhaps you could point out the places I should avoid taking them?"

Acenath listened and nodded.
"Sure, follow us!" She smiled as Akinyi ran off in front of them. It was normal that Akinyi would run off and lead the way no matter how old the pair got Akinyi managed to keep her youthful bounce.
"We will head to the water first, as it's clearly an important thing." She smiled and followed the maned wolf that seemed suddenly like a young pup. They headed not too far away to a mini oasis where Acenath and and Zoran had played before.
"This I believe is the nearest water. It's lovely and fresh." Akinyi was in the water quick enough. Ace smiled before heading over and taking a drink. It was beautifully cool for being in such a hot place. It was beautiful though.

Briefly Zafran wondered what it would be like to have such a friend like Akinyi, but didn't linger on the thought for very long. So the bright lioness followed the more neutral toned lioness and her maned wolf pal, as they took her to the 'most important' thing, water. She smiled at the two who were already at and in the water, and slowly walked over to it. She carefully put one paw in the water, and nearly gasped at how cool it was. Then, taking her paw out, she took a long drink, and smiled, then sat back, looking to Acenath,"This is wonderful! I didn't think it could be so beautiful and, well, cold!" Zafran bashfully shook her head and grinned.

Ace couldn't help but smile.
"I know isn't it amazing? Its the best place to come and cool down after a hard days hunt or something... it's refreshing and cool." She smiled as she spoke but that smile changed as she saw Akinyi walking back towards the lionesses dripping wet.
She got out the water and shook her fur allowing both lionesses to get a little wet.
"Thats better. Nothing like a cool dip. Anyway you said you weren't a hunter? Well so you know heading that way is generally a good spot. There is another Oasis and being that much further from the pride means that prey will drink there. You get the odd one here but they can smell lions." Akinyi looked like a drowned rat while she spoke and Ace couldn't help but snigger a little.
"Anyway you said you were looking after cubs, that means you will get to teach them a little to I guess. Anyway there aren't many places you can't take the cubs. Generally keeping them close to the temple, it's safer there." Acenath spoke now as Akinyi laid down near the two.

Zafran was definitely feeling more comfortable, after being given a tour around. Aside from that, who wouldn't feel comfortable, sitting next to a gorgeous oasis?
She hardly even noticed the way Akiyini looked, with her fur completely soaked by the water. Not that she would comment on it anyway, that would be rude, and pointless. Her fur would dry quickly in the hot sun.
"No, I'm not much of a hunter, but it is good to know where to hunt. I'm not bad at it, I just don't get a joy out of it. I suppose that sounds sort of weird, doesn't it?" Zafran frowned slightly making a face of mild confusion at her own words.

"Everyone is blessed with something, some is hunting some have a different skill. If we could all hunt well and not do anything else then it would all be rather pointless." Acenath smiled as she spoke. "The gods knew what they were doing with us." Acenath wasn't sure if it would reassure the lioness but at the same time it is what she believed.
Akinyi was slightly shocked at it all. Acenath sounding all.... making sense and stuff. She was properly shocked and very proud of her. It seemed Acenath was a lot more there in the head then she made out to be sometimes.
"Is there anything else you would like to know or see?" Akinyi asked this time, though most of their lands were desert. It was probably information that the new ones seeked rather then seeing places.

Well, it wasn't like Zafran hadn't been 'blessed' to hunt, she was just born with average skill and a lack of will to kill others that had done no harm to her. Though she certainly did agree with Acenath, the Gods did seem like they knew what they were doing when they created them. Yet, these days...
"Well, perhaps you could explain a bit more on the traditions with the Gods and perhaps marriage? These things are strange to me, where I'm from you just mate with who you want... as vulgar as that sounds." Quickly realizing what she had just said, the bright coloured lioness flushed from head to toe, feeling extremely embarrassed and uncomfortable.
