It had been a week since she first landed in this foreign land in search of her missing younger sister, but despite her continual efforts, there had been no signs of her... After the news of her disappearance reached her, Nastiras had immediately tracked her all the way down to this land, only to find that the trail ended here. Although worried for her sister's safety at the start, the unicorn soon realized that her sister might still be alive and around this land... Somewhere.
She just has to figure out where.
Tossing her head to get her bangs out of her eyes, Nastiras paused for a second before she continued on her way, slowly making her way down a path that had been carved out of the earth by the various forest critters who had used the route over the years. The ground was slippery with mud from the morning shower, and she found herself looking out for any signs of mud puddles, determined not to dirty her pelt unnecessarily; although she was not exactly a sheltered mare, she was brought up to be a lady, after all. It didn't work out like her parents had hoped, however, as she soon discovered a passion and thirst for adventure... And the dirt, sweat, mud and blood that goes together with it.
As she broke through the thick bushes of the undergrowth, she soon came to a small clearing in the forest. Having spent hours in the forest where light was limited, she now realized how dark it was, even though the clearing was not covered by any trees; without realizing it, she had combed the forest the whole day since morning, and now find herself without shelter for the night.

 ((Vladislav Draculesti))
A manic sort of excitement gripped Vlad that night. These moods would come upon him once in a while but this was the first time he had experienced it in this new land he had come to. He had woken up dampened by rain but the sky above was clear and the stars twinkled brightly. Vlad had looked up at those stars, stars that were the only familiar sight he had seen in some time. It was a beautiful night, and such beautiful nights were meant to be enjoyed.
Almost immediately he took to the sky. The weight of his chains were so familiar that he didn't even notice them anymore. The pattern of his flight through the sky was not the straight path of usual soquili flight. Like the bats that shadowed him in the air and on the ground Vlad flew in erratic patterns. He would fly in one direction then turn sharply to another. All four of his wings beat in conjunction and made him more maneuverable than a soquili with only two. With the wind whistling past his ears and the star and moonlight shining down, Vlad felt enraptured by the night that surrounded him.
The forest below him spread out in a dark green expanse. Here and there he could see the glint of moonlight off water or a bare patch in the canopy where there was a clearing. Something down there didn't match, however. He spotted a brief flash of brightness beneath him. What was that? In his energetic mood he was immediately gripped by curiosity. Was it a soquili? He doubled back and flew a lower. He flew so low that his wingbeats would be clearly audible from the ground. There the soquili was! This time flying over he was able to make her out more directly. A golden-maned mare. What was she doing out so late?
Resolving to find out, Vlad dipped down and dove through the branches. He landed with a clatter of chains out of sight of the mare but not far away. He immediately began to prowl towards her with an anticipatory smirk on his face. Would she be scared of him? Defiant? Uninterested? Attracted? He couldn't wait to find out!

Nastiras halted when she heard the sound of beating wings overhead, and immediately looked up, glowing green eyes piercing through the dark. She scanned the night sky, trying to estimate the size of the creature that could make such a loud wing beat. Although she was feeling rather tensed, she appeared outwardly calm, partially since frequent encounters with strange creatures back home had given her nerves of steel... She narrowed her eyes; although it was only for a second, she spied the movement of something big out of the corner of her eye, but before she could take a better look, it was gone. The sound of wings beating was quickly replaced by the clanging of chains headed towards her.
The sound of chains was not something unfamiliar to the unicorn mare; she donned hers first as a way to train her stamina - training with the extra weight so that without them, she would be able to go faster and for longer periods of time - but soon grew so accustomed to them that she wore them as a status symbol... In her guild, it symbolizes both physical and mental strength, something she had gained from her years of training and adventuring. However, the sound of chains she was currently hearing was different from the sound made by the chains on her body; they sounded dull and almost... Rusty.
She paused, her muscles tensed and her senses on the alert; it was late, and she was all alone in a foreign land... If this was the place her younger sister had vanished in, it must be filled with all kinds of danger! One can never be too careful, after all, especially when its dark out! Her ears twitched as she stared at the approaching silhouette, making out two pairs of huge wings, and a spade-tipped tail... The darkness had placed her at a disadvantage.
