I've read that Gaia arranged things so you won't get gold grabbed from direct tank links- only by tapping the tank ?

They fixed that glitch so you don't have to use the direct tank links anymore. You can still use them, but sometimes they don't give out gold, you'll get a 0. It doesn't happen all the time
